Now available for auction is this 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over an Anthracite interior. The CLK55 AMG was one of the fastest Mercedes-Benz available back in 2001, powered by a naturally aspirated M113 5.4 L V8 engine. Also equipped from the factory with larger brakes, 18” wheels, and a firmer suspension, the AMG W208 drew inspiration from Mercedes' racing program and served as the safety car for the 1997 Formula 1 season. This particular example has had multiple owners in the same family, considerable amounts of recent maintenance, and is now being offered for auction with a clean title out of Florida while showing 73k miles on the odometer.
This example is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic, and the seller notes some road-going wear on the hood and fenders as well as some touched-up imperfections. As shown in the photo gallery, there is medium-sized door ding on the passenger door, some small dents on the passenger side, a paint chip under the gas tank, a piece of missing paint on the driver’s side, and some damage on the rear bumper. The front bumper cover and associated hardware were recently replaced and repainted. This CLK55 wears AMG-specific styling and factory 18” AMG monoblock wheels sporting newer Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires.
The cabin is upholstered in Anthracite black Nappa leather. Factory options include an electric tilting sunroof, heated front seats, Xenon headlights, and an automatic rear window shade. The driver’s side seat controls do not recline the seat, and the adjustable bolsters on both front seats are inoperable. The rear driver's side seat cushion has some deformity, and the passenger rear side seat cushion has a tear in the upholstery. The headliner sags slightly by the rear windscreen, and the rear buttons of the steering wheel stick. The interior trunk release does not function, but the trunk will open with the physical key, and all other gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
Powering this CLK55 AMG is a 5.4 L V8 engine making 342 HP and 382 lb.-ft of torque, and paired with a 5-speed shiftable automatic transmission. The M113 power plant features a forged billet steel crankshaft, forged connecting rods and pistons, a modified intake manifold, reworked cylinder heads, and lightweight AMG-specific camshafts. It allows the CLK55 to reach 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.9 seconds while continuing on to a top speed of 155 MPH. The seller states the car to be in great mechanical condition and suggests it can function well as a daily driver. Recent maintenance is said to include new engine and transmission mounts, a new drive belt, new front control arms, a new fuel filter, a replaced valve cover gasket, new spark plugs, and a new center catalytic converter. The trunk latch system was replaced with new hardware and a used vacuum pump. Some maintenance records are provided by the seller with recent work totaling over $7k.
This sale will include the owner's books, service records, and a clean Florida title. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a CLK55 AMG at a fraction of its original sticker price, do not miss out.

Thank you for your kind words @alan111 I appreciate it. I have always loved W208s and W210s. Finally I had the chance of owning one.
What a beauty. A time when MB (and other German makers) were more subtle with styling and accents with their performance division models. MB AMG and BMW M were at their pinnacle in the early 2000s. Good luck seller.
