This 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK430 Convertible is finished in Black over an Anthracite leather interior. Representing the first generation of the Mercedes Benz CLK-Class, this example features automatic climate control, the AMG styling package, and AMG wheels. Benefitting from a recent service including new brake pads and rotors, new spark plugs and wires, an oil change, and transmission maintenance, this 2001 example is now being offered by auction by the seller out of Connecticut while showing approximately 71k miles on the odometer.
This CLK430 Convertible was ordered in Black (040U) with a matching soft-top and features the AMG styling package which adds aggressive styling cues including an AMG-specific front spoiler, side skirts, and rear apron. The optional 17” AMG 5-spoke wheels are mounted with Arroyo Grand Sport and Nexen N7000 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage to the front bumper and fog light in 2009.
The interior is upholstered in Anthracite (211A) leather, accented by decorative wood trim spanning the center console, dashboard, shifter, and door panels. Amenities include power-adjustable front seats with memory, power-adjustable steering and mirrors with memory, and automatic climate control. An aftermarket Alpine radio has been added. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
The CLK430 is powered by a 4.3-liter V8 engine factory rated at 275 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes a double-wishbone front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). Recent service is said to include new front and rear brake pads and rotors, new spark plugs and wires, an oil change, two new front tires, and a transmission service. The seller states there are currently no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include a clean title, owner's manuals, a toolkit, and a spare tire.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned the car for 1 year. All maintenance is up to date.”

@aky No issues with the headliner condition and no not sagging.
How is the headliner? Is it sagging on the drivers side rear passenger area?
@aky Everything works as designed, no leaks or issues.
The previous owner did not mention any replacement of the hydraulic cylinders.
Does everything work as designed? Have the hydraulic cylinders been replaced?
@lennon997 Correct the work was performed under previous ownership.
Did you, yourself, do any maintance, particularly "Recent service is said to include new front and rear brake pads and rotors, new spark plugs and wires, an oil change, two new front tires, and a transmission service." Do you have records of this or was it done before your ownership?
those rear tires are unsafe for the road.
@lennon997 Front - 4122 Rear 1510
Can you please post the born on dates of the tires? it is difficult to rotate ones neck around to see them all.
thanks
@lennon997 I inquired about the services records from the previous owner at the time of sale, however they did not save any of the documents unfortunately.
@Dpal12 Referring to the listing on MB market? Do you have documentation for said service items addressed during your ownership? Any documents that came with the car from prior to your ownership showing any services? Yes, I do see notation on the carfax.
i had a very nice clk 430 coupe - these are fantastic cars, and they are very fairly valued due only to their age / era!
one of my buddies has used a clk 430 for commuting from sandy eggo to lala land for the past 11 or 12 years.
he has had 4 or 5 coupes and convertibles. he swears BY these cars. and his wife drives one too.
these cars are stylish, fast and RELIABLE.
he gets 240k to 300k miles of use out of each and every one.
the only thing he does to them is brakes, tires, oil / fluid changes, wipers, etc.
i am just passing along this info for any potential buyers who, of course, should do their own research!
if this car presented here, was a COUPE, i would have been bidding now, and until the end of the sale.
best wishes to the seller and buyer, this looks like a wonderful automobile.

@sdormoto Good morning, Unfortunately the previous auction winner could not come up with the funds to purchase the vehicle.
Good morning, what's the story on the prior no sale on a no reserve auction?
