Developed by the Ford Special Vehicles Team (SVT), the second-generation F-150 Lighting was the high-performance version of the PN96 F-150 pickup truck, equipped with a supercharged 5.4L Triton V8 mated to a modified 4-speed automatic transmission, a specially tuned suspension, a rear limited-slip differential, and unique model-specific styling. This 2001 example was ordered in Bright Red over a Medium Graphite cloth interior and was delivered new to Pennsylvania in June of 2001 before moving to Florida where it has remained under the care of the original owner since. This collectible F-150 SVT Lightning is now being offered for auction showing approximately 67k miles on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in Bright Red (E4) and includes a Flareside bed, a model-specific front fascia with integrated round fog lamps, side skirts, side-exit exhaust tips, clear tail lights, a roll-up tonneau cover, a sliding rear window, and a hitch receiver. The 18” five-spoke wheels wear black SVT center caps and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Some minor paint chip touchups are noted throughout, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The front bench seat is upholstered in Medium Graphite cloth with black leather inserts and SVT-embroidered backrests. Features include a six-way power-adjustable driver seat, a folding center console with integrated cup holders, cruise control, air conditioning, a six-disc CD stereo, and power windows and locks.
Power comes from a 5.4L Triton SOHC V8 equipped with an Eaton M112 supercharger, forged crankshaft and rods, and lower compression pistons, producing up to 380 HP and 450 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed Ford 4R100 overdrive automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. With this powertrain, the Lighting is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in approximately six seconds to a top speed of 140 MPH. To improve handling, the Lightning came lowered from the factory and fitted with Monroe shocks and stiffer anti-roll bars. The CARFAX report shows some dealership maintenance during the original ownership, and the seller reports no outstanding service items at this time.
