Launched in 1995 and manufactured until 2002, the second iteration of the Dodge Viper (SR II) incorporated a fresh GTS variant with a revamped 8.0-liter V10 engine and a fixed roof. This 2001 example comes finished in Viper Red over black leather and features the ACR Competition Group comprising 18” BBS wheels, five-point harnesses, an updated intake system, and enhanced suspension elements. This Viper is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania with approximately 10k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Viper Red. Equipment includes a vented clamshell hood, integrated front and rear spoilers, front brake cooling ducts, projector-style headlamps, a “double-bubble” roof, an exposed fuel filler cap, and dual center-mounted tailpipes. It rides on unique 18” BBS wheels as part of the ACR Package, dressed in Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires from 2021. Inside, the driver is presented with black leather upholstery covering the bucket seats and a matching dashboard, door panels, center console, and carpeting. As an ACR example, an accompanying badge adorns the center console, and five-point seat harnesses are equipped. Other accessories include a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather gear knob and handbrake, power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD stereo.
A naturally aspirated 8.0-liter OHV V10 engine delivers up to 450 HP and 490 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The optional ACR package enhances performance with a revised air intake and an adjustable Koni suspension. Stopping power is facilitated by four-wheel ventilated discs equipped with ABS, a feature introduced on the Viper for the 2001 model year.
