Designed by Chris Bangle, Henrik Fisker, and Scott Lempert as a tribute to the legendary BMW 507 of the late 1950s, the largely hand-built Z8 was manufactured in limited numbers at BMW’s facility in Munich from 2000-2003. It utilizes a lightweight aluminum chassis equipped with the legendary S62 V8 borrowed from the E39 M5 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This Canadian-market 2001 BMW Z8 comes finished in Jet Black over black Nappa leather. Cared for by its owner of approximately 12 years, it is now being offered for auction on dealer consignment out of British Columbia with less than 25k kilometers (~16k miles) showing on the odometer.
This example is finished in Jet Black. The Z8’s aluminum bodywork carries inspiration from the BMW 507, including a long-hood design, side gills appointed with BMW roundels, a slightly pointed front bumper, and 507-style rounded headlights integrated into the front grille. Details include slim taillights with neon brake lights and turn signals, xenon headlights, and model-specific 18” split-spoke alloy wheels. It rides on older Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tires. The seller notes the front bumper was refinished in 2009, and damage along its lower edge is depicted in the gallery. Additional images and a clean CARFAX report are also provided.
The dashboard, center console, and heated and power-adjustable seats are trimmed in black Nappa leather, contrasted with body-colored accents throughout the cabin. The driver is supplied with a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, an aluminum shift knob, and a central instrument cluster. All knobs, switches, and primary touchpoints are sculpted from aluminum. Driver amenities include remote keyless entry, a push-button ignition, a 10-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, an auto-dimming interior mirror, and a passenger-side cup holder.
The Z8 shares its 4.9L S62 V8 engine with the E39 M5 sports sedan, including Double-VANOS variable valve timing, quad hollow camshafts, lightweight aluminum construction, and individual throttle bodies. The S62 was factory-rated at 394 HP and 368 lb.-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox and mechanical limited-slip differential. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH can be achieved in as little as 4.5 seconds. Service in February 2021 is said to have included replacing the fuel pump and changing the differential fluid. Additionally, service in July 2024 included an oil change, transmission fluid change, and replacing accessory belts. The seller notes broken edges on the engine undertray.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Nicvilla - minor damage is to the lower part of the plastic bumper (cosmetic damage)...nothing else
- car was purchased by a BMW collector who has now decided to thin out his collection and was only driven a few times per year since being purchased and only for small drives around town
Cheers, Cor
Would this be consider an structural damage?,
Thank you for your quick answer
Any idea why this car has not move since 2012??
Based on carfax docs, the car shows 15k miles on 2012 registration
Thank you
@Nicvilla - take a look at pictures 83-86....the damage is on the inside edge of the lower part of the front bumper
- the lower part of the front bumper has a built in extension on the left and right side with a gap in the middle and it's this inside edge that has the minor damage
- you won't notice it unless you look for it but it's there
- let me know if that answers your question and if not I can try to take a better overall picture to direct you to where it is
Can you pls elaborate on the extent , cause of the undertray damage??
