Based on the E36 3-Series platform, the Z3 drew inspiration from its predecessor, the BMW Z1, as well as the iconic BMW 507 Roadster. This 2001 Z3 Coupe is finished in Topaz Blue over a Topaz Blue Nappa leather interior and is said to be one of only 15 examples ordered in this color combination equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. It features the larger 3.0-liter M54 inline-six engine as well as a limited-slip differential, Aluminum-look interior trim, heated seats and mirrors, a power glass moonroof, and a BMW CD radio. Cared for by only one owner and showing under 22k miles on the odometer, this Z3 3.0 Coupe is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Oklahoma.
The exterior is finished in Topaz Blue (364) and can be distinguished as a 3.0-liter model by its widened rear stance, more aggressive front fascia, and dual exhaust tips. The kidney grilles, fender vents, and fender-mounted emblems pay homage to the classic BMW 507 Roadster. The seller reports a hairline scratch on the front bumper next to the passenger side headlight, some minor chips on the driver’s side front bumper, a light scratch on the driver’s side bumper where it meets the hood, minor damage to the driver’s side bumper reflector, a small dent on the passenger door, a paint nick on the driver's side rear quarter panel, another paint chip on the rear bumper, and some curb rash on all four wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The original wheels have been replaced with a set of 17” BMW Style 32 wheels mounted with new Continental ExtremeContact tires.
The cabin features a pair of heated and power-adjustable sport seats upholstered in Topaz Blue leather with a matching shift boot, handbrake lever, and door panels contrasted by Aluminum-look trim. Driver amenities include air conditioning, power accessories, cruise control, a three-spoke leather-wrapped M-Technic steering wheel, a power glass sunroof, heated door mirrors, chrome-ringed instrumentation, a Harman Kardon Hi-Fi sound system, and a BMW Business CD stereo. The seller notes some minor wear on the driver’s side seat bolster.
This Z3 is powered by a 3.0-liter M54 straight-six engine featuring double VANOS variable valve timing and an output of 225 HP and 214 lb.-ft of torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and factory limited-slip differential, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 155 MPH. The most recent service was completed in June of 2021 including an oil and filter change, a brake fluid flush, and the installation of a new purge valve and air filter.
This sale will include a clean title.

Home stretch! We appreciate all of the interest and bids so far. Here are some recent comps from BAT. A 2002 with 45k miles, and a 2001 with 47k miles with potential flood damage. Neither were 1-owner cars, nor were they as pristine or complete. Future buyer will be extremely pleased to own this immaculate example.

@DMM9510 Everything works as intended. No issues to note! Radio functions properly with great reception, AC blows strong and cold, windows function properly. I have every service invoice for the car and it was serviced regularly. Most recent service was on 6-3-21 at 21,545 miles from 'Mike Ostrander Motor Werkes' in Cumberland, Maryland and consisted of an oil change, washer fluid, antifreeze, purge valve, air filter, brake fluid and brake clean service. We also had brand new Continental Extreme Contact tires installed 10 miles ago. She's ready for a road trip! We purchased the car from the original owner in Cumberland, Maryland where it resided since new and was truly used as a Sunday Driver.
Nice presentation. Can you comment of working order of radio, air conditioning, auto window up/down, etc? Anything not working properly?
Has it consistently been driven, or has it sat in a garage for years without moving? Not many miles since 2013? What's the rest of the story?
Any concerns about a 500 mile trip to its new home?

@GoGeo We tried our best to showcase the extent of the wear with our photos. They are very light wear marks that were most likely caused by a belt or something mounted on the hip. Constantly entering and exiting the vehicle improperly would cause this. It appears to be very minor and is nothing a light dye job an upholstery shop couldn't resolve. The seat bottom, back, and inner bolster are in perfect condition.
Nice looking car, could you elaborate on the condition of the driver's seat? Both upper and lower bolsters look like it's from a car with many more miles...thank you.
