This first-year BMW E46 M3 is finished in its launch color of Laguna Seca Blue over Gray Nappa leather and is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Factory options include the Cold Weather Package, Luxury Package, xenon headlamps, and a Harman-Kardon Sound System. Modifications consist of Turner Motorsport “flush kit” wheel spacers, a Scorpion Redpower exhaust system, and more. Originally delivered to CVM Autopark of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, the car later relocated to Colorado in August 2024. Showing approximately 87k miles, this E46 M3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado.

The exterior is finished in Laguna Seca Blue (448), a color reportedly selected for only 1,128 6-speed E46 M3 Coupes. Features include xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, Shadowline trim, a rear trunk lid spoiler, quad exhaust outlets, and 19” Style 67 wheels wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tires from 2021, with approximately 50% tread remaining. Turner Motorsport “flush kit” wheel spacers have also been installed, measuring 15mm up front and 12.5mm at the rear. The CARFAX notes damage to the left front in November 2003. In August 2024, the front bumper and driver-side fender were repainted, and the fog lights were replaced following damage from a tire retread strike on the highway. Paint protection film has since been applied to the hood, front bumper, fenders, side skirts, mirror housings, and lower rear bumper. The seller notes minor rock chips beneath the rockers and rear bumper, along with a small area of peeled paint near the front grille.

The interior is upholstered in Gray Nappa leather and features deeply bolstered 14-way power-adjustable M-Sport seats, matching door panels, and carpeting accented by gloss black trim. M3-specific details include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with M stitching, M instrumentation with warm-up lights, M3 door sill guards, and M3-branded floor mats. Factory options include the Cold Weather Package, adjustable seatback width with lumbar support, a Harman-Kardon Sound System, and an AM/FM CD player head unit. The headliner has been replaced, and an M5 shift knob with an Alcantara boot has been installed. Noted imperfections include some scratching on the sunglasses holder and a missing roll-over lid on the rear ashtray.

The E46 M3 is equipped with a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six featuring individual throttle bodies, quasi-dry sump lubrication, a light alloy twin-cam head, and VANOS variable valve timing. Up to 333 HP and 269 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds with an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. Modifications include a K&N cone air filter, a Scorpion Redpower exhaust system, and a subframe reinforcement kit.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, sales literature, and some documentation.

The seller would like you to know: “This E46 is a perfect blend of a preservation example and guilt free driver. It’s got love from all types of people wherever it goes. If you’re in the market for the LSB m3, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a cleaner example.”

Ok I’ve uploaded some paint readings. You can see that the front fenders and hood are covered in ppf. Looks as though the driver’s side door has been painted as well but everything else looks original. Also posted the paperwork from having the airbag recall taken care of yesterday along with overall inspection from Gebhardt BMW in Boulder, CO.

@icantaffordthis Paint meter? Dude, the car is 24 years old with 87K miles.

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 monthago

@Wcpp12 I gotcha- well if you end up winning the auction I can probably trail the car to you. I’ll be heading to WA to pick up another so can drop off the m3 on the way!

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 monthago

    @tom1313 no i'm in california

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 monthago

@Wcpp12 are you in Colorado?! Would love to stay in touch with the new buyer so I can still see her haha

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 monthago

@Wcpp12 haha I’d like to keep it as a memory piece but I’ve got another for the front that I never put on. So sure! Also just uploaded bmw records for the car. It is currently at the dealership having the recall done now that I’ve discovered it needed to be done.

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 monthago

@tom1313 will you leave that colorado plate on the car for the new buyer?

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 monthago

@icantaffordthis I’ve ordered one- should be here today so I’ll get those pictures posted asap! I also discovered that the car had an open recall on the airbag so it’s currently at the dealership to have that corrected.

  • icantaffordthis (registered bidder) 1 monthago

@Tom1313 , a paint meter will still read through the PPF. Knowledgeable buyers will know to deduct the thickness of the PPF to get the actual paint reading. It's an easy way to engage with your buyers. If you don't do it, buyers will usually assume the worst.

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 monthago

@lennon997 I considered buying one and still could, but everywhere the paintwork has been done is covered in ppf. Are there any other pictures you wanted to see?

  • lennon997 (registered bidder) 1 monthago

you can buy a paint meter on amazon, have it by end of day and return it tomorrow morning. Lots of great pics but missing the crucial ones especially with damage and repaint....Interesting to see if this doesn't hit the 33k from BAT.

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Wcpp12 honestly I think it’s just the angle/lighting during the photoshoot. Obviously the front clip has been painted but I never noticed a difference between body panels until I saw these pictures. I actually immediately walked out to the garage after getting the pictures back to look in person. I can’t see a color difference in person.

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

On picture number 3 there is a huge difference in color from the fender to the door. Was it like this prior to the clear bra or is the color just that off?

  • suprtran 1 month, 1 weekago

Didn't meet reserve at 36k on BaT. Curious to see what Pcar will bring it to.

@Wcpp12 shoot. Looks like I can’t upload a video. There are pictures in the gallery with matching vin stickers on the body but that’s all I was able to locate.

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@wcpp12 I can’t find any stickers or a stamped vin anywhere other than the body. I took a video that I’ll post in a few minutes.
I was able to get records from BMW this morning. I can get those uploaded as well later today. No additional info on the damage report unfortunately.

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@tom1313 can you please confirm if all panels are original and vin stickers in place.

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Wcpp12 it’s listed as “very minor damage” but trying to find more details. All body panels line up better than many of the e46s I’ve seen without any damage reported. As far as I know now all panels are original but will let you know if I find any more info!

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@tom1313 are all panels on the car original and have the vin stickers on them?

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@tom1313 thank you. Those are very important. Without a paint meter reading or actual report of what happened we can only imagine the worse. I appreciate you trying to get that.

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Wcpp12 I don’t have much honestly. Everything from my ownership, but working on what I can get from BMW. Also seeking more info on the damage report.
I bought this car with the intention on supercharging it, knowing its value wasn’t going to be a concern for me. After owning it a bit, I’ve realized I just can’t do it to this car so I’ve asked a couple of my connections in the bmw world to dig up what they can for me. I will keep you posted for sure!

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@tom1313 do you have all service records from 2001 to present?
Also do you have paperwork from the accident?

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Wcpp12 no worries- happy to answer any question you might have. But I have not had an oil analysis done. I just did an oil change and always look for the metallic sheen or obvious flakes but it was clean. Also had only been about 1000 miles since the last oil service.

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@tom1313 so have you done an oil analysis? Because last it sounds like rod bearings are due on your car. Also I didn’t realize this was the same car on bat. Sorry for some of the double questions. Could have looked there for answers.

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Usaidbarlas figured it was worth a shot! Hopefully there are some true enthusiasts on Pcar rather than dealers trying to score a deal. I appreciate the good luck!

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Wcpp12 Rod bearings in the s54 should last anywhere between 60-100k miles. Driving style dependent of course. I’ve babied this car (never tracked) and from what I learned about the previous owner was the same. Older gentleman who described it as his prize possession.

  • Usaidbarlas (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

If BAT didn’t work out I doubt it will here but GLWTA Mate!

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@tom1313 has an oil analysis been done? Correct me if I’m wrong but if the rod bearings was done at 18k wouldn’t it be time to do it again?

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Wcpp12 To my knowledge yes- I believe the entire front end has new paint. Seems to clean for 87k miles. I don’t have a paint meter though. The chip in the paint is from when they were applying the ppf. They repositioned and it came up- and yeah, they ppf’d over the spot. I wasn’t pumped. The sunroof works as it should but the manual slide in the headliner takes a little force, but slides fully. Vanos has not been done on it yet. Rod bearings were done under warranty at 18k. I had the subframe reinforced in my time with it. Unfortunately I do not have the original intake or muffler. I have all other oem parts though. The clutch is original to my knowledge but it feels strong. No issues with that at all.

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Just to confirm driver fender, front bumper, hood, and pass side fender? So the entire front clip? I see the paint chip on the hood too. Does that have clear bra over it?
    Any issues with sunroof?
    Anything done with the Vanos?
    Clutch?
Do you have the oem intake?

  • luis.seneriz 1 month, 1 weekago

Bid in the amount of $10,911

  • Tom1313 (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Wcpp12 Those were the two pieces I had painted because of the retread incident. I’m not sure about the rest of the car but it’s my suspicion that the hood and passenger side fender were painted prior to my ownership.

  • Wcpp12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Front bumper and driver side fender are the only parts of the car repainted?
