This first-year BMW E46 M3 was ordered in the debut color of Laguna Seca Blue over a Light Grey Nappa leather interior and is said to be one of only 1,128 6-speed Coupes configured as such for the North American market. It was also optioned with a power sunroof, heated power-adjustable seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Routinely serviced by BMW dealerships and specialty shops including replacement of the rod bearings under recall, this 2001 M3 is now being offered at auction out of Florida showing approximately 70k miles on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in Laguna Seca Blue (448) and can be identified as an M3 from a standard 3-Series by its wider fenders, side air vents, revised front bumper, mirrors, rear valence, and signature BMW Motorsport quad-tip exhaust. Equipment includes xenon headlights with washers, foglights, high-gloss black Shadowline trim, and a rear trunk lid lip spoiler. The passenger side door has been previously refinished and the factory 18” Style 67 wheels are mounted with Toyo Proxes S4 Plus tires from 2014. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is upholstered in Light Grey Nappa leather and features deeply bolstered 14-way powered M-Sport seats with matching door panels and carpeting accented by gloss black trim. M3-specific details include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with M stitching, specialized M instrumentation with warm-up lights, M3 door sill guards, M3-branded floor mats, and an Anthracite headliner. Amenities include a Harman Kardon stereo system with a BMW Business radio, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, an onboard computer, a glass sunroof, and a rear-seat passthrough with a ski bag.
The E46 M3 is equipped with a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six featuring individual throttle bodies, quasi-dry sump lubrication, a light alloy twin-cam head, and VANOS variable valve timing. Up to 333 HP and 269 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds with an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. The CARFAX report shows a consistent history of maintenance and the seller states the rod bearings were replaced under BMW recall with supporting documentation.
This sale will include a clean title.

@PAEuros how were you able to tell the passenger side door was refinished? I only see 2 invoices referencing paint and none of them add up to what I imagine will be the cost of repainting the door and hood.
Is there a shipping company you guys use that would ship to Philadelphia?
@Montegue We unfortunately do not know why certain panels have been blended or have paintwork but have inspected the vehicle thoroughly to ensure no panels were replaced or any bondo to be found on any part of the vehicle.
Would be happy to get you a clear scan of the document you are requesting tomorrow morning when I am back at the dealership.
@Christopherzabelicky Car is in excellent running condition and is in need of nothing but to be driven. Vehicle was purchased out of a collection of cars as the previous owner was changing out some cars in his collection to purchase some other vehicles on his list.
That is correct there is no other physical document stating any other time the subframe was inspected. We welcome any inspection on the vehicle.
Does the car have any running issues or any concerns the buyer should be aware of? Has sub frame been recently inspected. I had saw 2009 it was looked at but nothing since then.

I had the exact same car. There were many initially because LSB with grey was how they demo'd them and were press cars. At the time of release M3s were so hard to get I "settled" for an LSB because it was the best deal I could find.
I ended up falling in love with that color, and this car is an iconic example of an E46 M3. Of all the cars I've owned, it's one of the three that are my ATF's.
Alfa Giulia QV, 997.2 GT3, and E46M3. I think about getting another E46 often. Nice example.
@ASGMiami I reviewed the receipts a couple times and don’t see anything showing VANOS service, rear subframe inspection or the repaint of the front end. With a clean CARFAX, I expected the see some comment or explanation for why the front hood and fenders were repainted. Do you know when or why this was done?
Also, the showing rear shock replacement has an obscured column. Are you able to get a full scan of that page?

@Nikojo From the factory the S54 engine did bring ITbs, frequently taken off and put onto other BMW engines.
Beautiful car.
Did these engines have ITBs???
@PAEuros Please refer to the last pictures on the auction which shows the paint meter readings around the entire car. The Driver side of the vehicle is all original paint but as you can see in the pictures the passenger side and front hood have paintwork. There is zero indication of any panel replacement and welcome all inspections. This is a very nice well maintained driving example.
Why was the passenger side door refinished? Can you send paint meter readings of the whole car?
Good luck to all interested parties. Pease feel free to reach out with any additional questions you might have on the vehicle.
