Available for auction is this 2001 Bentley Azure finished in Porcelain over a brown leather interior. Based on the Bentley Continental R, the Azure debuted in 1995 and just over 1,400 examples were built during an eight-year production run. This four-owner example is believed to be one of 194 Azure’s built for the 2001 model year and is said to have been fastidiously serviced throughout its life. This Bentley is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing just under 23k miles on the odometer.
The process of converting a Continental R into an Azure took up to two years with the assistance of Pininfarina, who built the shell and soft top in Italy before the final assembly was completed by Bentley at Crewe. This example is finished in Porcelain with a tan power-retractable soft top. A small trim piece of the front grill is said to be missing and the convertible top has been serviced with a new pump and hydraulics at a cost of around $8k. Detailed images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. It rides on a set of 17” aluminum multi-spoke wheels dressed in Bridgestone Dueler H/L tires from 2017.
The cabin is upholstered in brown leather with burl wood trim on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Details include creme-colored seat piping, Bentley logo embroidered headrests, polished fittings and gauge bezels, machined aluminum pedals, and air conditioning with upper and lower temperature settings. The seller reports slight wear on the driver’s seat bolster and that the seat belt pre-tensioner light is present. All other gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly.
Power comes from Bentley's legendary 6.75-liter V8 equipped with an intercooled Garrett turbocharger. The rear wheels are driven by way of a factory-modified General Motors 4-speed automatic transmission, allowing this nearly 3-ton grand tourer to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 6.5 seconds. The seller reports that routine service has been observed and has provided a collection maintenance records for reference.
This sale will include the owner’s literature and a clean title.
