This 2000 Porsche Boxster S has been reimagined as a tribute to the Ferrari Dino, the mid-engine V6 sports car line produced under a separate marque from 1967 to 1974. It wears a Magnum GT body inspired by the Dino’s unmistakable design and is finished in silver over a red full leather interior. Power is derived from a mid-mounted 3.2-liter flat-six engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a Wavetrac limited-slip differential. Modifications also include Daytona-style seat inserts, a replacement clutch kit, Godspeed adjustable coilovers, a Borla cat-back exhaust, and more. Combining elements of Porsche and Ferrari’s mid-engine, six-cylinder, rear-wheel-drive sports cars, this unique example is now being offered for auction by its seller and builder out of California.

Finished in silver, the 1980s Magnum GT fiberglass bodywork recreates the distinctive curves of the Ferrari Dino 206 GT, 246 GT, and 246 GTS models. The custom body offers widened bodywork by 10 inches, while the Boxster S offers a 95" wheelbase. Exterior details include split chrome bumpers, a vented hood, side air intakes, dual mirrors, and a characteristic Boxster S center-mounted twin exhaust outlet. It rides on silver multi-piece deep-dish aftermarket wheels. A collection of images is provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting minor damage in April 2013.

The cabin has been customized with red leather upholstery, red carpeting, and Daytona-style seat inserts. A 911-sourced instrument cluster has been installed along with a custom flat-bottom steering wheel, and the fixed seats feature electrically adjustable backrests and seat height, accommodating drivers up to approximately 5’10” comfortably. An additional set of low-profile leather-upholstered seats is included, recommended for drivers taller than 6’. All gauges and accessories are reported to function properly. Two warning lights remain illuminated, including the brake fluid level light, due to the use of a low-profile Audi A4 fluid reservoir that does not fully communicate with the sensor, and the ABS light, although no faults are recorded on the OBD-II system. The CARFAX report notes a potential odometer rollback.

Specialty German Parts of Northern California and installed in 2024. At the time of installation, the engine received an LN Engineering IMS bearing. The rear wheels are driven through a replacement 6-speed manual transmission purchased in 2018 (with 1,800 miles at the time) and installed in 2020, paired with a Wavetrac limited-slip differential and a new clutch kit including the flywheel, pressure plate, disc, throw-out bearing, release arm, and slave cylinder. Additional upgrades include Godspeed 12-way adjustable coilovers, a Borla catback exhaust, and brake rotors and pads with approximately 1k miles. The seller states the vehicle can be serviced at a Porsche dealer.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “There is no other car like this one that exists in the world. I get a whole lot of attention when I drive this car in the streets and at car shows.”

@Bigbee Please refer to photo 41 to see the bulged out areas under the roof and A pullers that were covered with leather
Thise blushes are the roll cage incorporated into the the roof the A pillar and the B pillars
In photo 67 you can see the side impact 2”x4” square tube welded into the chassis and the roll cage was welded to that square tube

@Bigbee There is an 1-5” roll bar incorporatesd into to the fiberglass body under the roof in A and B pillars
In addition to that under the door jams there is a 2”x4” square metal that was welded to Porsche chassis and the roll cage is welded to that square tube
Those provisions were built into this body by the manufacturer since the body was designed to for a naked VW chassis without the floor pans
So the manufacturer strengthened the body by incorporating The roll cage and the side impact metal into the roof and under the door jams respectively.

The Porsche roll hoops and crash bar have been removed with no apparent substitute. That fiberglass top won’t help in a rollover.

In January 2000 I took delivery of the first Porsche Boxster S sold west of the Mississippi. It was Metallic Forest Green with Savannah Biege leather interior. It handled like a dream. We had a back way out of the subdivision with several decreasing radius turns winding up a forested hill to the top. That car handled the turns like none other. Superb handling and incredible acceleration- still today one of the best cars ever produced by Porsche. With this well-executed Dino style body, this car would be awesome !

I also posted a photo of the night of the car which is about 43”
Best of luck to all who are interested in my car.

    @sculptedmetal Hi there
Yes the CB photos of low profile seats are posted in the photo gallery
The very last few photos are of those two seats
They are upholstered with the same pattern and sane leather color

  • sculptedmetal (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

    Hello VaheA
Beautiful car. I was wondering if you have any pictures of these seats mentioned in the write up for those of us 6 foot or more: " An additional set of low-profile leather-upholstered seats is included, recommended for drivers taller than 6’. " Do they also work with the Boxter controls?

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

  • Doc18015 (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

Porsche fans are fuming....yet , Porsche has never made a well styled auto. The body transformation has completed this car and I certainly will congratulate the builder ! A nearly perfect transformation of ugh to beautiful! I must say , it is still a "kit " car . If completed in metal over a tube chassis , six figures would be needed to purchase. @VaheA.... very well done and be proud! Next one , do in metal ........I will will purchase!

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@SIRAMED I agree with you I think this car looks way better than the first generation Boxster I think manufacturer should start bringing back their old designs with retro look Just like Dodge did with their charger.
Imagine a Porsche 356 on new Porsche 911
Or a 904 on a Porsche Boxster plate form
    platform
Or a Dino on a new Ferrari platform

  • Tech818 2 months, 2 weeksago

Bid in the amount of $30,000

  • SIRAMED (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

Is there any better certification that Porsche has never made a good looking exterior than having a repro body outshine what in house design could not even come close to?

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@kcarlos I have a clean California title in my name. The vehicle was involved in minor accidents under prior ownership most likely a small scratch or repainting of the bumper. i have photos of the vehicle before it was it was stripped. also it states in the Carfax that vehicle has a clean title. the reason for odometer rollback is because I installed a Porsche 996 instrument cluster. the vehicle passes California emission test.

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@kcarlos I have a clean California title in my name. The donor vehicle was never involved in any accidents

  • kcarlos (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

I did not see this mentioned in the description or the car fax. After the accident does it still have a clean title or is it now a salvage title?

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

    @sportscarguy3 With all due respect
This car is a known as Magnum GT not a Dino ot anything else
This car is neither a Ferrari nor a Ford Gt
It is a hand build car that does not share the same dimensions with a Dino
95” of wheels base and 10 inches wider over all
This creation was a challenge to mate a 1980’s Kit car body to a Porsche Boxster with better suspension and better drivetrain.
So I hope some of my fellow car enthusiast will get all tangeled up into this debate and appreciate the workmanship and the effort it took to create this vehicle
There are many examples of this very cat built on a VW chassis with rear engine set up
And a few were built on a tube chassis with mid engine GM or Ford V8 with Porsche transaxle set up.
In collusion there was never an efforts to make this car into something it is not
It is just a kit car body that was grafted onto a Porsche Boxster.

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

With all due respect to the seller
Isn’t this about the biggest slap in the face that you could give to any Porsche?
( next to turning a Ford GT 40 into one )
Turning a legendary or any Porsche into a Ferrari or Ferrari look, I imagine, would roll the legendary Ferdinand Porsche over in his grave !
Again, not intending any disrespect to the work the seller has done, or the car itself. Just as a long time Porsche, owner and enthusiast. I just say “ why “
    Good luck all

Thanks for your reply. I was comparing your car to a Dino 246 which had a chrome door opening lever and missed your video. Plus, I hit the wrong date for the date of the title. So many cobra kits are titled in various dates and thus the reason for the question. Your car compares very well to a Dino 246 . so after restoring numerous cars I applaud your attention to detail. Good luck on your auction.

@Damaho912 Sometimes people kinda go over the listing and do not read the details mentioned in the write up, or watch the videos carefully or look at the photo gallery. But I am here to answer any question they might have

The door opens with a chrome rod that is pushed down
If you watch the video of the walk around you will see how I opened the door from the outside

  • needanothercar (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

This is to inform every one who are interested in this vehicle
The car has all it factory emission equipment that is required for the car to pass California emissions
It has its original air pump catalytic converters, evap system oxygen sensors etc
Please refer to the third video to see the OB2 reader showing all monitors being ready
If the vehicle is sold and the new owner is requiring a smog certificate for the state of California I can furnish one free of charge.

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@Fynmere Although I have not weighed the car but it must be lighter .
The stock Boxster is about 3000 Lbs
This car most likely is around 2700 Lbs
The car feels much quicker than an stock
    Porsche Boxster
10/% less weight equals faster acceleration and more gas milage
    I have a 2006 Porsche 997 with a 4.2 liter race engine
The car gets 350hp and 320ftlb at the wheels on dyno
This car feels Sl most the same acceleration as My 400 crank HP 997

  • Fynmere 2 months, 2 weeksago

@VaheA From a weight perspective is the car lighter than a stock Boxster or about the same with the revised body?

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@ddx77 there are two extensive videos of AC and heater operation published above.

  • ddx77 (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

It’s mentioned that all accessories work, does that include a/c ? Thanks !

  • witz (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

Lovely build, I would think this has more inside room than a 904.

  • LFM2024 (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@jbauto yes It does look much better than first generation Boxster

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@Flyingchef47 thanks for your kind words. I agree with your assessment and every time I drive the car to my local cars and coffee I always get many compliments

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@tdskip i actually drove this car to Porsche dealer to pick up a part for my 997
all the sales staff and the general manager came out of the dealership to look at it and took few photos. the cars looks much better in person.

  • tdskip (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

Almost worth buying just to schedule a service appointment at the local Porsche dealer.

@Tmort I have seen a lot of turned heads when driving in the streets and taking the car to cars and coffees but never seen one turned head followed by a scratch lol

  • Tmort (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

Very cool! I’m sure it turns heads and causes folks to scratch them!

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@Clint930 yes there are no whippers but there is enough room to attach one This body has a metal substructure A 1.5” bar is incorporated into the roof and the pillars also there is a 2x4” metal square tube is under the door jam that was originally incorporated into the body by the original manufacturer This vehicle had a fiberglass floor and firewall front and back that was part of the body so I had to cut that out and the body was welded to the Boxster chassis using the existing metalTubes and square metal under the door seals.Additional metal pieces were fabricated and welded to the chassis to attach the front and the rear of the car to the chassis The fabricated metals mentioned above were then attached to the body using fiberglass.I have driven this car for around 2500 miles There are no cracks and no squeaks when driving on the road

  • Clint930 (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

I absolutely love what you have created. I have a 981 Spyder that maybe I should transform? Two questions, I don't see windshield wipers. And, how is the body attached to what was or still is, a Porche Boxster? Thanks

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@Dwhite I had the same idea but I could not find a 904 body
    Plus 904 has a 4.5” shorter wheelbase
Much harder to fit it on to a 2000 Boxster Whivh has a 95” wheelbase.

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@CustomPerformance Thanks for your kind words
I get a lot of Compliments and Thumbs up every time I take this car for a ride and go to car shows

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@Niteroi this body was looks based on Dino Shape
It is much wider and has longer wheel base

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@dino70089 thanks for your kind words

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@Elongo yes the IMS wad replaced by a LN engineering unit

  • dino70089 (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

Certainly has a nicer interior than a real Dino

  • Niteroi (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

A Boxster with a Ferrari body. That is so wrong.

  • jbauto (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

Pretty cool man. Looks way better than a Boxster. Nice work. GL

  • Dwhite (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

Yes that is a very nice rebody and Dinos are an all-time fav of mine.

For me, as its a Porsche and I was spending a bunch of money, I would have gone 904 rebody. A car which also is beautiful and has a similarity in looks. GLWTA.

  • Flyingchef47 (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

I gotta say, that’s one of the most tasteful rebodies I’ve ever seen. Nicely done.

  • VaheA (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

Welcome to this Unique one of a kind build rebodied Porsche Boxster S.
    I built this car myself

You can watch the videos of that. Shocks on my YouTube channel
    Now back to this vehicle
A lot of time smd effort went into building this vehicle smd it took me 3 years to build it
I only used very fine material and the help
Of craftsmen who contributed to this build
I have taken this car to many car shows and all I have heard is nothing but positive comments,
Please do not hesitate ti ask me any questions you would have about this gem.
Best of luck to everyone who is interested to bid on this vehicle.
