This 986 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a black convertible soft top. Compared to a standard Boxster, the “S” model receives red-painted brake calipers and dual exhaust outlets. Other equipment includes Litronic headlights with washers and 18” 993 Turbo-Look wheels with colored Porsche center crests. The cabin is trimmed in Black Full leather with optional supple leather seats, exclusive Porsche-crested headrests, the Power Seat Package, and seat heating. I work from my home as an automotive artist, and maybe you saw my artwork here on Pcarmarket under automotive artist Michael Ledwitz. This is a 2000 Porsche Boxster S in Arctic silver with a black interior and black convertible top. This car I purchased in January 2022 from Virginia. It was a two-owner car when I purchased it. I am the third owner. This car is highly optioned. It has approximately over $14,000 in factory options that came with this car. DORI, the course of my own ownership, I’ve put a little over 11,000 miles on the car. I drive it daily and absolutely love it. I have recently replaced the oil separator due to the scheduled maintenance, and I’ve had to replace the front trunk actuator, so that’s brand new. This car has been used for local driving as well, and I’ve gone down most recently to Brumos for an event with Brian Redman in Jacksonville, Florida; the cruise control works, radio works, and air conditioning works. This also has heated seats and traction control. I hope you enjoyed it and love it as much as I have. Why have I decided to sell this car? Well, I just sold one of my other classics, and now I’m sans myself. I want something different, so this is the next one that I will sell. I have not sent out for an oil sample, but with that said I check the oil regularly. I’ve done this since I bought the car which is going to be 3 years this January. I hope this helps also my mechanic as well.
Others have asked about the IMS, but one further follow up question, please. Have you had a test done on the engine oil to determine if there are any metal particles within the fluid itself?

Thanks for reaching out and inquiring again on the car. I have not examined the flange bearing. When I was inquiring on this car originally to purchase, I have a lot of people that I know who are Porsche owners also who own dealerships who are clients with my artwork and I spoke with them in great length as well as their mechanics and they said that with the double row and they said it ‘s about 2% on failure rate . I’ve been in this car 11,000 miles and I’ve had no issues whatsoever with an IMS issue, granted I know they say it can go at any time and so forth, but still, I’ve had no issues with the IMS. I put a brand new battery in the car 2 months ago. When I bought the car from the gentleman who drove it. He said he kept the upkeep on it. He didn’t have receipts on that at the time I purchase it. I spoke with him in detail and took a chance and proved to be good. The brakes and rotors are good. I’m replacing all four tires this week so you’ll have brand new tires on the vehicle for whoever potentially wins the bid. I hope this is helpful. Good luck and happy bidding.
The odds certainly favor the presence of a dual row IMS, but the only way to be certain is to examine the flange of the bearing itself.

Also, the CARFAX is totally without detail.
A car of this age is certain to have had many normal “wear and tear” items replaced by now (belts, hoses, spark plugs, battery, brakes etc.).
Do you have receipts for these?
What are the date codes on the tires?

The 2000 model has a 50-50 chance of having a ( better) dual row bearing.
Have you made a determination as to which bearing the car was manufactured with (or replaced it)?
Commissioned artwork like what is being offered with my car is $1500 dollars. The only reason I’m saying this is because I don’t like making assumptions personally, Specially when I’m bidding .

It is an incredible vehicle. It’s perfectly balance, 50-50 weight and it really is a Modern 914/6. I stated in my original statement I’m selling this car because I just sold another one last week and I’m looking to buy another Porsche. So this one has to go so I can make room for another. I also want you to know that I’m working on a piece of artwork to go with this car. It’s going to be a framed print on canvas of this Boxster.
