Up for auction is this 2000 Porsche 986 Boxster S finished in Midlight Blue Metallic over a black and tan leather interior. The “S” badge on this Boxster means a larger 3.2 liter flat-six engine along with a 6-speed manual transmission and an upgraded braking system. This particular example benefits from an upgraded IMS bearing along with a new soft top and rear glass window. Now showing 115k miles on the odometer, this Boxster S is being offered for sale by its seller out of Florida.
Outside, the Midnight Blue Metallic finish of this Boxster is described as good for its age with some imperfections outlined in the photo gallery. The car highlights a clean CARFAX report though the Autocheck report does show one incident during previous ownership. 17” Porsche twist Boxster S wheels are equipped and wear a set of Michelin tires. The seller notes that the convertible top has been replaced with the welcome upgrade of a glass rear window in substitution of the standard plastic unit.
Inside, you will find a tan leather interior. The seller notes that the seats have been reupholstered in black leather along with a few other details of the interior including the door handles. Some notable factory options include partial power-adjustable seats, anti-theft system, and a sound system with 6-way speakers. All functions are said to be working including the newly installed black soft top.
Power comes from a mid-engine 3.2L flat-six that sends 250 HP to the rear wheels by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission. A highlight of this Boxster S is the completion of the critical IMS bearing service which was reportedly done under previous ownership. Under current ownership, a coolant hose was replaced, and an oil change was completed within the last month.
Included in this sale will be two keys, original books, and some receipts for maintenance that has been completed. This Boxster is ready to begin its journey with a new driver.

In the pics, it looks like it's about due for tires. Receipts show it's been about 7 years and 35k miles since then.

@901navigator Meant to tag you on my last comment
@johannbertram Underneath photos have just been posted
@901navigator I'm really sorry I very frustratingly haven't had the time to do either. I'll try to swing by my house in about an hour to take underneath photos without lifting it
I still don't see any underneath pics of the engine and the rest of it?

@901navigator I just made a cold start video this morning and sent it the PCar people to post.
@Pcarmarket
Can you post the receipts this seller forwarded to you? Thx
@johannbertram
Thank you. Would you have an opportunity to post a link to a cold start video and that of the exhaust outlets while being started? Thx me in advance.
@901navigator I'm still working on getting the photos
@gregators I sent them to the guys at Pcar but they haven't posted them. I can send them to you if you'd like.
Can you post documentation for the IMS replacement, AOS replacement, and RMS replacement?
@901navigator Unfortunately I don't have a windscreen
@johannbertram
I'm looking forward to those pics with different angles and those of the engine too and bottom.
Is there a windscreen present that fits between the seats and roll bar assembly?
@901navigator Sorry I just reread your comment, never mind about my question about the underneath and engine pics. I'll try to take those as soon as I can
@901navigator I don't know if the door handles are changed or not. I don't know why it's listed like that. Yes, I think the new leather has noticeably less than perfect fit around the center console and the bottom/rear corners of the seats. I'm not experienced with seeing a lot of leather, so I'm not sure how to judge the quality of the leather finish.
What kind of windscreen picture are you looking for? As for the under engine, do you mean under the car where the engine is or are you referring to a different kind of angle?
@johannbertram
Can you please provide underneath and engine pics
@johannbertram
Did I miss the windscreen pic? The listed modified door handle pics?
Interesting that it has twist instead of S wheels. I thought the S had silver colored side air vents? I think the contrasting black seats work well with the interior black accents, and black wears better than the original Savannah beige seats. Although from my angle the fit and finish of the black leather is not as precise as the original factory details.
@davery5872 I only have receipt pages from the shop that did the work. I sent the pages to the Pcar people but they haven't included them in the pictures here. Do you want me to send them to you?
@johannbertram Ok thanks. Any paperwork for the IMS replacement?
@davery5872 I can't find any buttons for seat heating, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't have them
@davery5872 Yes I have receipts for the IMS replacement, AOS replacement, RMS replacement, as well as a few other things like a new clutch at 77k miles. I don't think this has heated seats but I'll check and reply again here when I find out.
Is there a receipt available for the IMS replacement? Does the car have heated seats?
