Topping the model range of the 986 model, the Boxster S featured a 250-horsepower flat-six engine, larger brakes, and dual central exhaust outlets. Initially sold at Champion Porsche of Pompano Beach, Florida, at a cost of $56,347.00, this 2000 Porsche 986 Boxster S comes finished in Guards Red over a Black full leather interior. Equipment includes a 6-speed manual transmission, the Sport Package, Litronic Headlights, headlight washers, a CD shelf center console, and more. Benefitting from over $9k in service and upgrades since the seller’s acquisition, this meticulously maintained example is now being offered for auction out of South Carolina showing less than 65k miles on the odometer.
This 986 was refinished in its factory-specified Guards Red in September 2024, including minor repairs to nicks and dings, three coats of basecoat, and three coats of high-solids clearcoat, followed by buffing and polishing. The paintwork is reportedly covered by a transferable five-year warranty valid through September 2029. Additionally, the bumper guards were refinished in body color with a flex additive, and a black soft top is equipped. Factory options include Litronic headlights and headlight washers. In 2021, the seller fitted a new Autohaas German A4 premium convertible top with optional heated back glass and installed H&R 1-inch (25 mm) lowering springs. In 2025, the car received new Pirelli P Zero tires (225/40R18 front, 265/35R18 rear) mounted on restored 18” 997 Turbo II wheels. Additional updates include a new Porsche windshield decorative molding and rubber trim, as well as new titanium-finished “Boxster S” decklid emblems. The seller notes the active rear wing has been replaced, and there are scratches on the underside of the front bumper cover. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a CARFAX report noting very minor damage in July 2014, reportedly from another vehicle backing into the parked Boxster, which has since been professionally repaired.
The cabin is appointed with Black full leather upholstery, aftermarket carbon fiber trim, and replacement floor mats. The optional Sport Package includes cruise control, a remote-controlled alarm system, a windstop, and a premium sound system, which has been replaced with a JVC receiver with a CD player, Apple CarPlay, a Kicker 150W subwoofer, and Kicker two-way speakers. The seller notes that a 3” section of the leather dash pad at the front has pulled back approximately ¼” and requires re-gluing. The key fob remote functions do not operate, although the light flashes when buttons are pressed. The seller states that this does not impact drivability or the car alarm. The heater display screen shows approximately one square inch of wear, although it functions normally.
Power is delivered by a mid-mounted 3.2-liter flat-six engine, factory-rated at 250 HP and 225 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller highlights the following service history:

The high beams remained standard halogen bulbs. The Litronic system came in clear lenses, which were also used for the front turn signals, replacing the amber lenses on US-spec halogen models.

@Champ thank you! Fun fact: Champion Porsche - the largest dealer in the USA - has a Motorsports division that would provide upgrades to their cars. I suspect the carbon interior trim and German 2-piece rims on the car when I bought it were installed when new. The date code of those German rims match, and they are beautiful. I contacted Champion and asked their long timers for information. I also reached out to the original salesman recently and waiting to hear back.
It's fun to see the era of "vintage" hotrod 986's is upon us. What a great example this is. Such wonderful cars.
