Now available for auction is this 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe finished in Mirage Metallic over black leather. This first-generation 996 was ordered with optional 18” SportClassic wheels along with exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes, aluminum interior inlays, a rear window wiper, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and a Tiptronic S transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Benefitting from a replacement IMS bearing as well as some other notable services completed over the past several years, this Carrera shows approximately 103k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This Carrera comes finished in Mirage Metallic (L555), a rarely seen color offered from 1997-2000. Exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes were also equipped from the factory along with an optional rear window wiper, Xenon headlamps, and 18” SportClassic two-piece wheels. The car rides on a set of Continental tires from 2015 and the seller reports a few scuff marks on the wheels. The front bumper cover was previously refinished and CARFAX shows minor front-end damage to have occurred in 2013, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the full CARFAX report.
The black leather interior includes optional 12-way power seats with lumbar support as well as exclusive aluminum inlays for the handbrake and gear selector. An aftermarket Bluetooth stereo and trunk-mounted amplifier have been equipped and the footwells have been lined with custom Coco floor mats. A few scuffs are noted on plastic trim pieces and the seller reports wear on the seats commensurate with the car’s mileage. A complete list of original factory options is provided below:
A naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine produces up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission that allows for manual gear changes using the shift buttons on the steering wheel. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) came equipped from the factory and the car was reportedly fitted with a new IMS bearing in 2017 along with a camshaft overhaul, new coolant hoses, brakes, and filters. The water pump and thermostat were replaced in 2018 and the EVAP system was serviced in 2019. Additional service records are said to be available dating back to 2015.
This sale will include a clean title.
