Up for auction at no reserve is this 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet presented in Cobalt Blue Metallic over a Grey leather interior. This tastefully configured 2000 example features upgraded suspension components, an aftermarket exhaust system and larger Porsche 997 wheels. Reported to have undergone an IMS, RMS and clutch replacement within the last 30k miles, this driver grade 996 is said to be in good driving order by its seller in Rockland County, NY with approximately 140,860 miles showing on the odometer.
The Cobalt Blue Metallic finish is said to be in fair condition with road-going wear and some cosmetic imperfections. The blue cabriolet top also exhibits some minor damage (detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery). A Blue painted hardtop will also be included with the sale. H&R lowering springs provide an aggressive stance which compliments the larger 18" Porsche 997 wheels which come dressed in BFGoodrich tires measuring 225/40 in the front and 275/35 in the rear.
The Grey leather interior remains in good shape with signs of wear. An aftermarket Kenwood radio and amplifier have been installed and the seller indicates the air conditioning needs to be recharged and that the power cabriolet top function is weak, although still manually operable. Highlights include Porsche crested headrests, the Bose Sound System, power operated seats and white-faced instrument gauges.
This 996 is equipped with a 3.4 L flat-six engine which is rated at 296 HP stock. Power is distributed to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission making for a factory 0-60 time of approximately 5.2 seconds. Performance upgrades include an aftermarket exhaust system, H&R springs paired with Bilstein shocks and a brand new OEM mid length shifter upgrade. The IMS, RMS and clutch are said to have been replaced within the last 30k miles, and a collection of service records are provided for reference within the photo gallery. An intermittent check engine light has been reported for the evap system, although this Carrera is reported to be in otherwise solid driving condition.
The sale of this Cabriolet will include a set of two keys, a clear title, service records and a Blue hardtop. Whether you’re in the market for a daily driver or an entry-level Porsche sports car, this 996 Cabriolet offers an exceptional value.

@Cassandantonio Tire date codes have been added to the listing gallery.
@Cassandantonio the car is sitting at PCARMARKET HQ, so they can hopefully take a look at the tires for the date, but I can tell you that they have plenty of tread and I have only put about 1,500 miles on them from new. Nyol at Speedwerk in Nyack tells me the IMS is LN and he is the one who did the work. Please see a shot of the hard top right before all of the paint meter pics.
How old/how many miles on the tires?
IMS bearing: is it a replacement from LN Engineering?
And I could not find a picture in the gallery of the hardtop. I looked twice. Thanks!
@PCARMARKET thank you for updating the listing. Someone is going to get a great deal on an awesome car as we enter the last day of this auction. I encourage any potential bidders to reach out to me with questions about the car!
@VanD After further inspection, the car is noted to be Cobalt Blue Metallic. An updated photo of the paint code has been posted to the listing gallery confirming this.
@VanD thanks for the note! I think it’s just the lighting since the photos were taken at PCARMARKET HQ on a very sunny day. I will ask them to double check the color code to confirm. It’s a striking color in person that gets a ton of compliments whenever I’ve driven it!
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Looks more like Cobalt blue than Zenith but could be the lighting. Great car here...
@sergionunez760 pic from the rear of hard top added. The car is currently sitting at PCARMARKET HQ, and the top is stored in my garage.
@Cat1776 thanks for the note! It’s a very fast car that handles so well with the upgrades! I get compliments on the color any time I take it out. This car is up at NO-RESERVE so someone is definitely driving away with something special.
What a beautiful color blue, and those gorgeous 997 Carrera III Wheels! I own a 2001 Seal Grey 996tt and added 8” & 11” X 18 997 Carrera III wheels, which look terrific on 996 cars. Someone’s going to get a beautiful Porsche here, which they’ll be proud to own and drive!
@rg588911 thank you! Nyol at Speedwerk in Nyack has taken great care of this car!
I have owned multiple 996s and driven other 996 cabs. I drove this car when it was at Speedworks and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed. This was the nicest and most well sorted (both engine and suspension)996 I've driven. If I were in the market, I would def buy. Great color too and great stance with the 997 wheels and Bilsteins. GLWS
@msa615 YES! I have the paper title, my name only and no liens. Neither the soft top or the hard top leak. Soft top shows wear as you can see in the pics and still works. Hard top is in great shape.
Do you have the paper title and is it in your name only Ny title without liens Any water leaks with either top or damage
@sergionunez760 thanks for the suggestion! After the holiday weekend I will have PCARMARKET post pics of hard top on the car and I have it on a stand in my garage right now so I get that up for you to see also.
Would be nice to see the car with the hardtop on.
Thanks for checking out this NO RESERVE auction. Whoever wins the auction will have a lot of fun - this is a great car. I will do my best to answer any questions through the week. Good luck!
