Porsche unveiled the 996 Millennium Edition to celebrate the turn of the century in 2000. The examples were limited to only 911 units, based on the Carrera 4 coupe, and uniquely finished in Violet Chromaflair over a luxurious Natural Brown leather interior. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this modern-day collectible is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oklahoma showing just over 46k miles on the odometer.
This Millennium Edition is finished in its signature color Violet Chromaflair, which is known to elegantly fade between shades of black, dark green, and violet. A set of upgraded 18" chrome Turbo Twist wheels are wrapped in Hankook tires from 2018. The seller adds that a 2-stage paint correction has been carried out followed by a full ceramic coating, and various paint imperfections are noted. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The driver is situated within a specially crafted Natural Brown leather interior accented with burr-maple trim along the steering wheel, handbrake cover, shift knob, and door pulls. This example was configured with a sunroof and features an Alcantara headliner. Millennium model 996s come fitted with PCM, and heated seats. Below the climate control system and between the heated seat controls sits a numbered plaque. Modifications include an ampifier and a PCM head unit including a Pioneer unit with Bluetooth, SiriusXM, and a CD player.
Power is derived from a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine rated at 296 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by way of a desirable six-speed manual transmission making for a 0-60 time of approximately 5.2 seconds. Factory performance features include 4-piston calipers with vented disc brakes and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). The seller adds that the alternator was replaced in 2019 and left CV boots were replaced in 2021.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Acar haven't done any paint readings. Can't say about the noise you heard. Have never had any comments from my Porsche mechanic about that issue. Am following his recommendation about the IMS and RMS to wait until time to change the clutch. He has found no evidence of RMS leakage during any of the services he has performed, the minimum of which is an oil/filter change at least once/year.
I heard some tensioner or pulley noise? Ims and Rms recommand at 50k miles ? Any paint meter reading ?
@bshipman ok by thank you. I owned 515.

Good luck finding another one on the market, people never sell. Only one I have seen on rennlist other this one. Good luck to everyone, cant lose with this car, I love the color!!
@Johnwestt #161 of 911.
What # is the car on the dash plate?

Welcome to the last day of my auction! I thank you for your kind comments on the car. It is truly a beautiful color combination - both exterior and interior. Good luck with your bidding!
The photos are good but it’s really hard to capture the nuances of the Chromaflair paint. It’s green, brown, purple depending on light and angle. It’s stunning. Also, this one seems to have the original chrome wheels and they’re not flaking. That’s a plus. The interior smells like the interior of the Bentley Mulsanne I used to have. Intoxicating!
Good luck to all.
The cost to have a new Porsche PTS in Chromaflair is currently $99,000.
Super rare 911, good luck to everyone. The car is so unique that it will always be worth what you paid for it, longer you keep, the more it goes up. These cars have already depreciated and wont find them cheaper, especially a limited edition model like this one.

@russ59 I wouldn't have any misgivings about an extended road trip with the car.
@Murray1911 the IMS has not been replaced. The owner of the shop I use recommended I wait until the clutch needed to be changed. If you have questions about that, I recommend you call him. I’ll gladly furnish his number.
Any hesitation about driving this car long distance after the sell?
Fantastic car. Has the IMS bearing been replaced. Thank you.
They are indeed great cars that are finally getting their long overdue respect.
And yeah, everybody knows that bidding doesn’t get serious until the last 30 minutes or so.
I expect this car will do very well when this is over.
@PorscheGuy52- the low bids won’t even come close. There’s something about auction psychology and human nature that encourages as many bidders as possible to participate. Just watch a Mecum or Barrett Jackson auction.
These are great cars and are finally getting recognized for their uniqueness. I’ve got one and am totally biased.
To Porscheguy32,
So step up and show us what a serious bid is!
Not sure if these little bids will win this car... Lets see a realistic number. I know its early in the auction but would be nice to see a realistic buyer. Seller not crazy to set reserve low and give away.

A very special car! I have a 2001 C4 and can’t say enough about how much I love driving it on mountain roads. Haven’t found the limit of adhesion yet and not sure that I want to.
I may have to bid on this one though. The color combo is just so sweet. And being as my eyesight is worsening, I do love white gauge faces!
Sadly, I suspect this will quickly move beyond my reach. It’s that nice!
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Other than the GT2 and Turbo S, this is the most limited production 996 you will find. Rarely see any for sell, this should be an interesting finish.
@russ59 I believe so. The subwoofer was installed by the previous owner and I enjoyed the extra bass too much to remove it.
Regarding the passenger footwell speaker/subwoofer, if someone wanted to remove it, would the stock carpet remain behind that setup?
One of the most unique 996 models, only 911 made. Beautiful color, only made for that car. This is a gem.
@SilverRose Yes. It appears a prior owner knelt on the rear bumper cover. It’s one of the two paint imperfections on the vehicle.
@seller - is the only real paint cracking/spidering on that rear bumper cover?
Welcome to my auction. The 996 Millennium Edition is stunning to see in person. I've tried to convey a little bit of the impact of the rare color in a few of the photos. Let me know if you've got questions and I'll try to answer them as best I can.
