Named after Ferrari’s home province, the 550 Maranello debuted at the Nürburgring racing circuit in 1996, featuring Pininfarina-designed bodywork and a front-mounted 5.5-liter V12 paired with a gated 6-speed manual transmission. One of 3,083 examples produced in total, this 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello is finished in Rosso Corsa over Beige Tradizione leather and features Scuderia fender shields, red brake calipers, Daytona-style seats, and more. It has been fitted with an upgraded Fuchs exhaust system and 19” Novitec wheels. Benefiting from a timing belt service in May 2022, this 550 Maranello is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas with approximately 17k miles on the odometer.

Situated around a tubular steel spaceframe, the Pininfarina-designed bodywork features a distinctive hood scoop, fender vents, circular taillights, and an integrated rear spoiler. This example is finished in classic Rosso Corsa and sits on aftermarket 19” Novitec double-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires. Additional details include a front chin spoiler, fog lights, power mirrors, Scuderia fender shields, quad exhaust tips, and red brake calipers with white Ferrari logos. The sale also includes the original 18” 5-spoke magnesium alloy wheels. A ceramic coating was applied to the body in 2024, and detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin presents Beige Tradizione leather upholstery with a diamond-stitched rear parcel shelf, embossed Daytona-style bucket seats with black leather contrasts, and black carpets. Accessories include stainless steel Ferrari-branded door sills, drilled alloy pedals, a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a polished gated shifter, and full power accessories. The interior switches and knobs were refinished in May 2022.

The 550 Maranello’s naturally aspirated 5.5-liter F133 A V12 engine produces 478 HP and 419 lb.-ft of torque in stock form, featuring dual overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, and a variable-length intake manifold. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, allowing for a 0-60 MPH time of approximately 4 seconds and a top speed of 199 MPH. The double wishbone suspension incorporates coaxial springs and dampers at each corner, along with front and rear anti-roll bars. Braking is managed by vented disc brakes measuring 13” up front and 12.2” at the rear, supported by an adjustable electronic anti-slip regulation system and four-way ABS. A Fuchs cat-back exhaust system has been installed. The seller notes that service records totaling over $47k are provided in the gallery, including a timing belt service in May 2022, which addressed the tensioner bearings, valve cover gaskets, camshaft seals, fuel pumps, engine mounts, air conditioning compressor, and accelerator cable, as well as an overhauled water pump. A refrigerant recharge is recommended.

This sale includes a clean title, two keys, two key fobs, service records, a leather pouch with owner’s manuals, a car cover, steering wheel and seat covers, a tuner module, a toolkit, an air pump, and the stock 18” 5-spoke magnesium alloy wheels.

Right colors and right car to replace my F430, and a much better touring car for the long drive from Austin to my
home in Alaska, after my grandson gets married in Austin in June.
May even make it his wedding car for the event. And like most Ferrari's, 17K miles is about right for a 25 year old car. It has been correctly said that Ferrari owners just roll their cars out of the garage on Saturdays, polish them and then roll them back in. Then sell them after 3 years to get something else. Not my plan!!
