Now available for auction is this 2000 BMW E36/8 Z3 M Coupe finished in Estoril Blue over a Dark Beige Oregon leather interior. Introduced in 1998, the M Coupe was the high-performance fixed-roof version of the Z3 featuring the venerable S52 inline-six engine and brakes from the E36 M3, an upgraded suspension, and more aggressive bodywork. This E36/8 was sold new in California and had been under the care of its second owner in New Mexico from 2006 up until 2021. Showing approximately 38k miles on the odometer, this classic Estoril Blue M Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This M Coupe is one of 472 North American examples to have come factory finished in Estoril Blue (335). It features black Shadowline trim, M-badged fender vents, M-specific bumper covers, rounded aero mirrors, a lower rear tailgate spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. Additional equipment includes aftermarket HID headlight bulbs, a roof-mounted antenna, and black door handles. The seller notes a minor chip in the windshield and three small paint chips on the front valence and hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The staggered-width 17” Style 40 “Roadstar” wheels come fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires.
The interior is trimmed in Dark Beige Oregon leather with textured inserts (R3SN) and power-adjustable heated sport seats. BMW Motorsport features include a leather-wrapped M-Sport steering wheel, an M shift knob, M-branded door sills, and chrome-trimmed instrumentation with auxiliary gauges in the center stack. Other amenities include a glass sunroof, air conditioning, an alarm system with keyless entry, and a BMW Business CD stereo system.
This M Coupe is powered by a 3.2L S52 inline-six engine borrowed from the E36 M3, which produces up to 240 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a ZF 5-speed manual transmission and mechanical limited-slip differential, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds. The M Coupe was built with a wider front and rear track than a standard Z3, and also received a lowered ride height, modified front suspension geometry, firmer springs and shock absorbers, strengthened semi-trailing arms, and a reinforced subframe. The brakes were also carried over from the E36 M3. The CARFAX report shows maintenance at BMW dealerships in Arizona and New Mexico, and service in August of 2021 included an oil and filter change, new spark plugs, tires, and a wheel alignment.
This sale will include multiple keys, owner's manuals, service records, and a clean title. An iconic and unique part of BMW Motorsport’s history, this Z3 M Coupe is a true modern classic.

@K2Motorcars Thanks for the response. No biggie at all. It's a $99 repair if it ever needs it.
@s8ilver I do not believe the rear view mirror has been replaced. To my knowledge it hasn’t gone bad like they do in the Z8. When I took it for the test drive video the other day I didn’t notice it.
Any record of the rear view mirror being repaired? They are known to leak their internals on the console and damage the paint, and there is some paint bubbling around the AC switch. Not a huge thing and easily sent out for repair, but nice to know if it's ever been done.
With the water based paint used, I don't see a front end respray as a detractor on any of these. Not at all saying this car has had any repainting done, but the paint chips so easily up front. My 163k mile Coupe's front bumper (valance?) looks like the speckled Oregon door panels. But, I drive my Coupe rain or shine. And snow.

@K2Motorcars got you and thanks.
@Ovakoly Image 136 shows what I would consider the front valence.
@K2Motorcars Thank you for pictures. It also mentioned "front valence". May you make pictures of this too?
@Ovakoly These have been added to the photo section. I found another smaller chip which I took a picture of and provided as well.
Bid in the amount of $9,000
@K2Motorcars "The seller notes a minor chip in the windshield and three small paint chips on the front valence and hood."
I couldn't found this on pictures and i thought you repainted this parts. May you provide pictures of this chips?
@Ovakoly We did not repaint anything on this car, so, unfortunately, I can't comment on that but have provided the paint meter readings, which do not show excessively high readings on the hood.
It should be noted that a 1999 BMW M3 Coupe that was touted as highly original and which sold on BaT for a premium with paint meter readings showed inconsistent high readings as well: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-bmw-m-coupe-48/
Most recently, PCarMarket had this Estoril Blue one with similar miles, and there were no paint meter readings: https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2002-bmw-m-coupe-1/
I am happy to provide more paint meter reading to any serious bidders. We will post the undercarriage photos today as well.
As always, please let me know if you have any other questions or need anything else.
@K2Motorcars why you repaint front bumper and hood? What else you repaint and why?
Bid in the amount of $7,750
@pwrdbym I agree
Bid in the amount of $7,500
Awesome combo, I have the same in a 99 model. Of note it’s 1 of 63 in Estoril/Oregon.
Buyers would probably appreciate some shots of the single diff mount as well as the forward rear subfloor to ensure no separation. (I realize this example only has 38k mi but there’s plenty of instances of it on Z cars with less). Very nice example.
Love the factory spoiler on these coupes. Pretty rare to see it!
PCAR Bidders - Please let me know what other information you possibly need on this beautiful M Coupe! I am happy to answer any questions I can or provide any other pictures you may want or need. Thanks again!
Happy Bidding!
