It was purchased by the seller, its third owner, from Motorcars of Georgia (The Bimmer Store) in February 2006 with just over 56k miles on the odometer. It comes equipped with power seats, walnut wood trim, a three-spoke M sport steering wheel, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, and 18” M Parallel Style 37 wheels. Diligently maintained by its owner for over 18 years, this E39 is now being offered for auction out of Georgia with approximately 221k miles on the odometer.
This E39 is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic with black window trim and body moldings, chrome front kidney grilles, and body-colored mirrors. Other equipment includes fog lights, an electric sunroof, heated windshield washer jets, a heated driver’s door lock cylinder, and 18” M Parallel Style 37 wheels. A spare OEM BBS wheel is mounted in the trunk and the car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires from 2022. The rims were polished 8 years ago and a new front windshield was installed about a year and a half ago. The seller notes the car has been garage-kept throughout their ownership, and some scratches are present on the trunk lid and lower passenger side body panels. The Grey leather interior includes power-adjustable front seats, walnut wood trim, a three-spoke M sport leather steering wheel, a wood-trimmed gear selector, power windows and mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an original AM/FM/cassette stereo. Some signs of wear are noted on the seats, the passenger airbag warning light is on, and the stereo is said to stop working intermittently. All other electronics and accessories are working properly.
Featuring double-VANOS variable valve timing, the naturally aspirated 2.8-liter M52 inline-six engine delivers up to 193 HP and 207 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The seller indicates the car was initially maintained by Motorcars of Georgia and then by German Car Repair from mid-2008 onwards. Recent service includes the replacement of the in-tank fuel pump, sender unit, spark plugs, ignition coils, power steering lines, and thrust rod bushings in 2023. The seller notes the brake rotors should be replaced within the next 5k miles.
