We are pleased to present this exceptional 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S 6-speed offered with just over 1k miles on the odometer. Remaining in pristine original condition, this generously equipped 1998 example has been looked after in private collections for most of its life.  Marking the final iteration of the air-cooled 911, this highly sought-after and beautifully preserved Carrera 4S makes the perfect addition to any world-class Porsche collection.

The original black finish on this Carrera 4S is stated to be in excellent condition with the only flaw being minor fading to the factory stone guards.  Detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery.  The seller notes that it will include a set of additional stone guards in-sale.  This 993 features a dealer-installed Turbo decklid, however, it is not included in the sale. The factory decklid will be installed prior to the completion of the auction.  Noteworthy details include widened fenders, Litronic headlights and 18" factory alloy 5-spoke Twist wheels which are currently dressed in an older set of Pirelli P-Zero tires.

The timeless black leather upholstered cabin is said to be in excellent original condition with all gauges, electrical components and accessories remaining fully functional.  Accompanied by an original window sticker totaling over $85k, this 1998 example highlights exclusive factory options including a leather dashboard and door panels, remote CD changer, AM/FM radio, the Hi-Fi Sound System, heated and power operated front seats, automatic speed control, a sunroof, and an aluminum shift knob and parking brake lever.

This Carrera 4S retains its original air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine which sends 282 HP to all four wheels by a number’s matching 6-speed manual transmission. 0-60 is achieved in approximately 5 seconds while reaching a top speed north of 160 MPH. Showing only 1114 miles on the odometer, this 993 is up to date on all due maintenance and is said to be in excellent running order.

The sale of this outstanding 993 will include a set of two keys, the original books, tools and window sticker, a spare tire and the installation of the factory decklid. Do not miss out on this rare opportunity to own a genuine collector-quality 993 Carrera 4S.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@markso HELLO. I took 6 pictures tonight and hopefully they will be posted tomorrow for you to view before auctions end. Thank you for your interest.

  • markso 4 years, 5 monthsago

As an interested bidder, I think you should leave the decision to clean the mold in the engine bay up to the winning bidder. The "new owner" would probably feel more comfortable if he, or his crew, took on that task themselves so that they would know the job was done properly and correctly.

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 5 monthsago

@bigboy you are correct and we have spoken with the seller regarding this. He agreed to clean the engine bay and provide some additional photos. Normally, we would not post a response to a comment like this, however, a member of our staff did visit the seller’s facility and did note that his cars were in excellent condition. We have seen in the past, and verified with a few specialists that some of the materials used on these cars are in fact breathable. When these cars sit for some period of time without being driven, mold can become present on certain surfaces even in an environment that is not damp. We hope this helps provide some insight.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@bigboy Thank you.. I again invite you If you are seriously interested to come see the car. I am not sure how else I can help. Is there something that you would like me to do?

  • bigboy 4 years, 5 monthsago

@nosubstitute4porsche I'm not sure about your moisture/humidity free environment because mold is clearly present in the engine compartment pictures. It's visible in all the pictures but really EZ to see in picture #90. Quite obvious if anyone looks closely at the pictures.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Luft Hello I stand corrected the c2s I referred you to at auto sport design is a 1997.. I am sorry for my mistake.. owners name is tom.. fine gentleman.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Luft As mentioned if you are looking for a C2S this is not the car for you. Please follow up with my suggestion earlier. Best of luck.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@bigboy Hello.. the car has been kept in a moisture/humidity free environment. May I suggest that you come see it in person? You will not be disappointed, guaranteed. Let me know if that is something you are interested in doing. If in fact you are looking to buy what is quite possibly one of the lowest original last year air cooled C4S available.Thank you again for viewing.

  • bigboy 4 years, 5 monthsago

car looks nice but engine compartment appears to have quite a bit of mold....this is concerning....have you attempted to clean it?

  • kaaayelll (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@nosubstitute4porsche my apologies, my phone didn’t ring for some reason, but your voicemail eventually came through. My schedule has for the next couple of days has grown more complicated, and I’m not sure I will have the 5 hour block I’d need to get to you, see the cars, and get back. I’m working on it, but I’m not optimistic.

Can you address why the two 993 haven’t been registered or titled in PA? Thanks.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@kaaayelll Hello I just left you a vm regarding your schedule for a potential visit. Thanks again.. stay well

  • Luft 4 years, 5 monthsago

Absolute stunning, if this was a 1998 S2 for me personal, i would be all over it. Deep pockets gents to win this for sure.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

    @kaaayelll hello again
I just messaged you(228 pm Sunday afternoon) however I did not hear back... I will try again.. as I said in my text to you I am open to your schedule to see the car.. thank you again

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@kaaayelll I sent a text out to see how to reach you to set up an appt but I have not heard back? I will make a call. Thank you for your patience.. In the meantime are you local or somewhat local to Pa?

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@kaaayelll I contacted pcarmkt to find out how we could speak.. I will let you know as soon as I hear back at which time I will answer your questions. thank you again

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@kaaayelll Hello I will contact pcarmkt to see how we can set up getting together for a look at the cars.

  • kaaayelll (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@nosubstitute4porsche I contacted you through the site. There should be a way to respond. In the meantime, can you address why the Carfax on this car lists CA last, the Carfax on your other auction lists MT last, and your location is PA? Did you not take title/register the cars in PA?

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Orange911 HELLO, I have a low mile C2S but it is red with cashmere. It Also has an aero kit 2 on it however the window sticker does not show it. I was told by the seller that it was put on at the dealership where the car was purchased and he had no reason to lie to me so I believe him.I cannot sell that car as it is promised to my nephew I do not have the original decklid for that car as it only came with the one that is on it. Oh it is a manual transmission also..

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@kaaayelll Hello . I am not sure how to do that but you are welcome to come see whenever your schedule permits..

    @Orange911 shocker!lol

  • kaaayelll (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

Please message me some times I can see this and the other car you have for sale before auction end.

  • Orange911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

Your responses to the comments says enough about you that I am discouraged from putting up any bids. Hope you don’t scratch anything switching out parts. Too bad this wasn’t a 2S or it really would be rare.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@Orange911 THANK YOU, AND GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR.The gentlemen from PCARMKT came to take pix of the car over the holiday weekend. They were kind enough to give up their SUNDAY to do that. Kindly try not to find fault with their honest attempt to correctly represent a 1114 mile pristine example..Perhaps they are really busy?
Having said that, The turbo decklid is by no means a "bait and switch" if that is in fact what you are alluding to. Its simply the lid that was on the car when I bought it and the previous owner put it on at the dealership where he purchased the car originally.Thank you for your suggestion/ permission for me to set a price on the turbo lid, I will take it under advisement. I may want to keep it and put it on my garage wall as a memory ... but again thank you for your advice.I am getting sellers remorse to be honest and I may need some more advice. It is really, really, super assuring that I can go to you for all listing verbiage proof reading. I cannot speak for pcarmarket as to if they are hiring or not though.

@FinnytheJRT9 Hello. I am sure that the porsche brand appreciates your loyalty.Thank you again

  • FinnytheJRT9 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@nosubstitute4porsche Hey, I have bought more than one car in my 63 years including 2 911’s

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@FinnytheJRT9 Hello , you may be right but we didn't. Time did not permit changing it.. How about this, If you are the high bidder and the reserve is met I will flip you for it? And like you said in your first statement of three...."the car looks outstanding".
p.s. you are in the lead in the comment section... congrats!!

  • FinnytheJRT9 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

You really should have posted pictures of the car with the original deck lid not the one you would expect someone to pay more for if they are the higher bidder after reserve is met .

  • Opus 4 years, 5 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $77,500

  • PCARMARKET 4 years, 5 monthsago

This 993 features a dealer-installed Turbo decklid, however, it is not included in the sale. The factory decklid (see photo gallery) will be installed before the pickup or delivery of the vehicle. If the winning bidder would like to purchase the Turbo lid after the auction ends please feel free to discuss that with the seller. We hope this clears up any confusion.

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@FinnytheJRT9 I sent two photos of the "non turbo decklid" about 5 minutes ago for you. thank you and sorry for the delay..

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@FinnytheJRT9 Hello sir. Yes that is correct The car has THE ORIGINAL FACTORY TIRES ON IT FROM WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED..having said that if the buyer/winner wants to drive the car with the tires from 1998 that's their prerogative. I just mentioned what I would "STRONGLY ENCOURAGE "she or he to do. The car is that original sir. Please re read my previous statement on the deckled and thank you again for your interest..I ask myself"HOW MANY 1998 BLACK/BLACK C4S cars are out there with 1114(not a misprint) miles are out there?

  • ColnagoC64 4 years, 5 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $77,000

  • Orange911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

Another error in the listing. “ this 993 is up to date on all due maintenance ” tires are part of maintenance

Seems sketchy to say if bidding gets to a certain level then you will consider giving up the turbo lid. Either say you’re including it or set an amount above reserve that you will include it. Seems pretty simple to do w/o giving up the reserve

  • oznamonkey 4 years, 5 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $76,000

  • FinnytheJRT9 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@nosubstitute4porsche so your saying that even though the listing says the dealer installed deck lid in the photos that is on the car now does not come with the car and the original C4S deck lid does? And the tires should be replaced if you want to drive it?

  • nosubstitute4porsche (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@FinnytheJRT9 Thank you for your interest. The turbo deckled does not come with the car. There is an error in the listing. If the price reaches where I think it should be we can discuss further. Thank you for your understanding. I can take photos of deck lid first chance I get. Thank you for your understanding. Car is in the wrapper please see the seat photos. Car has factory original tires on it which are unbelievable not dry rotted. I would strongly encourage that if it does get sold that the new buyer strongly consider changing them unless they keep the car for collection purposes as I have.I really don't know if there are very many last year air cooled C4S cars with this few miles. Thank you
