A purpose-built race car assembled at Renaultsports' Dieppe facility, the Clio V6 Trophy features a rear mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 engine paired with a 6-speed sequential manual gearbox, Brembo brakes, an AP Racing brake bias adjuster, a roll cage, fire suppression system, an OMP bucket seat, and 18” Cromodora magnesium wheels. This example is #19 of 159 Clio V6 Trophy cars produced in total and was raced by Sitec Motorsport in the 1999, 2000, and 2001 European Clio V6 Trophy series. It spent time in France before moving to the U.K. in 2015 and was eventually imported by the current owner to the U.S. in 2023. Accompanied by a binder of records, logbooks, import documents, and a 2012 issue of GTITech magazine featuring the car on its cover, this rare Clio V6 Trophy race car is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey.
The V6 Trophy is the predecessor to the Renault Clio V6 road car and wears similar bodywork with wider fenders, rockers, bumpers, and doors. This example is finished in lime green overlaid with a full Marlboro vinyl racing livery. Accessories include headlight covers, dual mirrors, a fixed rear spoiler, a front splitter, side air intakes, an aluminum fuel filler, hood and hatch pins, an external cutoff switch, and silver 18” Cromodora magnesium wheels dressed in Maxxis Victra RC-1 tires. Some body panels were replaced under previous ownership and a section of the rear bumper has been removed, exposing the central dual-exit muffler. The seller notes a chip on the passenger-side headlamp. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The stripped-out racing interior features a full roll cage, a fixed-back OMP bucket seat, a four-point Sabelt safety harness, a three-spoke Sparco steering wheel, and a digital Magneti Marelli cluster with a gear indicator and an analog 9k-rpm tachometer. Other equipment includes an AP Racing brake bias adjuster, a Renaultsport switch panel, a raised shifter assembly, an XAP circuit breaker, an Odyssey battery, and a Lifeline fire suppression system.
Transversely mounted behind the driver and ahead of the rear axles, the naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6 engine delivers up to 281 HP and 226 lb.-ft of torque to the front wheels through a 6-speed sequential manual gearbox. The car is equipped with adjustable dampers and 4-piston Brembo brakes with 320mm ventilated discs. The seller reports the rear main seal, engine oil, and coolant have been replaced under current ownership.
This Renault is accompanied by racing logbooks, a binder of maintenance records, import documents, a featured magazine, and a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: “It is such a pleasure to be offering this Clio V6 Trophy on behalf of the owner. We had the pleasure of shooting the auction media at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville CT which was a blast. The car performed very well and appears to need absolutely nothing. The new owner will certainly have to look forward to enjoying this head-turning, rare, factory race car.”

@Plasticporsches There was no compression or leakdown test done on the engine. The gearbox was removed and some seals and a reverse shaft bearing was replaced. The inline filter was cleaned out and new gear oil installed. At the same time, rear main engine seal was replaced. No other work was needed other than a set of tires, engine oil service and new exterior mirrors.
Thanks for your interest!

Can you please elaborate on the “servicing” of the gearbox that was referenced. It appears the car ran at least 3 seasons do you have any leak down numbers on the motor? Thank you
@ajspeaker No spares with the vehicle. The transmission has been resealed and serviced by the current owner. No issues with gearbox. Gearbox parts are available overseas by companies as these are still used in local racing and hillclimb. Body panels are also available overseas.
Thank you!
Any spares included in the sale? Also, any known issues with the transmission? I'd assume the transmission is no longer manufactured and replacements parts are few and far between.
@DukeZ That’s correct. It’s rear engine rear wheel drive .
Thanks
The write up of the car says it's front wheel drive, but I believe it's mid-engine, rear wheel drive?
