Now available is this 1999 Porsche 986 Boxster spec race car. This 986 has been transformed into a highly competitive racer with track-going safety equipment and an upgraded adjustable suspension including new MCS coilovers, GT3 control arms, and more. The car was built in compliance with PCA/POC Spec Boxster rules and has seen two race weekends since being converted from a Time Trial car. With newly refurbished brake calipers and a recently refreshed transmission, this race-ready Boxster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona accompanied by a POC racing logbook.
This Boxster sports a removable custom vinyl wrap over Arctic Silver Metallic paint. An upgraded Boxster S front bumper has been installed with accommodations for a third radiator should the next owner choose to install one. A rebuilt title was issued following a front-end collision reported on CARFAX in 2016. This Boxster rides on a set of 17” Porsche Twist wheel dressed in racing tires.
Inside, the cabin has been completely stripped and converted to a lightweight racing cockpit with the addition of a full roll cage, Sparco Pro ADV seat, a Schroth safety harness, a quick-release steering wheel, a fire extinguisher, and a Rennline track mat.
Power comes from a 2.5L flat-six engine which reportedly dyno’d at 191 HP and 170 lb.-ft of torque at Utah Motorsports Campus. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a 5-speed manual transmission which was refreshed two race weekends ago. The previous owner also reported the engine to have been refreshed two seasons ago. The suspension has been upgraded with adjustable MCS coilovers, GT3 control arms, and a larger front sway bar with Tarrett drop links. The brake calipers have been newly rebuilt and the pads and rotors are said to have been used for two track weekends. The seller adds that the suspension components have less than 500 miles of use and that the engine oil and transmission have been routinely changed after racing events.
This 986 will be accompanied by a racing logbook and a bill of sale. For any enthusiast eager to hit the track, this race-ready spec Boxster makes an excellent choice.

That is about what the last SPB sold for here. I thought the owner let that one go a bit low. Maybe advertise it on Rennlist or PCA mart? Good luck looks like a nice, well built race car.

@986x981967266 Great question, those are actually to hold the mesh into place while it dries. As you see in the other photos they are removed after a couple days.
I have to ask, what is going on with the sticks zip tied to the rear bumper vent in picture #19?

Beautiful build! I'm sure this car was finishing near the top in a very competitive field.
