Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black interior, this 1999 Porsche 986 Boxster comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission as well as optional 18” SportDesign wheels, cruise control, and a Porsche sound system. It was acquired by the seller and third owner in September of 2021 from Porsche of Tampa, Florida, and has been meticulously maintained including the replacement of the IMS bearing in 2014. This Boxster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing approximately 71k miles on the odometer.

This Boxster is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a black convertible top and optional 18” SportDesign wheels. Standard equipment includes integrated side air intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, silver-colored front grilles, black roll hoops, and a center-mounted exhaust outlet. The car rides on a set of Yokohama tires showing date codes ranging from 2019 to 2023. The seller notes minor paint imperfections and two small scratches on the front bumper, and that the rear window was replaced in September 2023. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black interior includes electrically adjustable seats, power windows and mirrors, black carpets, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, a Porsche CDR-220 radio, and a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel. The seller notes that the seatbelt was caught between the door and the latch, resulting in a few small dents which are not visible with the door closed. Additionally, the car is said to have been modified to allow the convertible top to operate without the parking brake being applied.

This Boxster is equipped with a 2.5-liter flat-six engine producing up to 201 HP and 181 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is provided by fixed 4-piston brakes and ventilated discs at each corner. The seller states an IMS bearing replacement was carried out at Porsche of Tampa in April 2014 at 44,028 miles as a condition of sale upon the previous owner's acquisition. The suspension stabilizer links were reportedly replaced in July 2023, and oil services were carried out every 3k miles using Mobil 1 oil and Mahle filters under the seller's care. Additionally, the heater diverter vanes are said to have been repaired in June 2023 using 3M metal duct tape.

This sale will include a clean title, owner's manuals, and a toolkit.

The seller would like you to know: "I am an old, trained Porsche 944 and VW technician from the 1980s. I grew up as a Porsche dealer’s son and have been around them my entire life. She has been a blast to own. This is a great example of what Porsche set out to do with the Boxter. It has been a fantastic and reliable car. The only major worn item was the clear back window which I had replaced by the only gentleman who the Ferrari, Porsche, and Bentley use in Tampa. The Boxster has never been in an accident. There are no door dings. The carpet, interior trim, and seats show very slight wear. The leather has no tears. This vehicle is offered for sale only because I own four Porsches and my wife thinks this is too many! Thanks for checking out my car."

Unusual that a Porsche dealer would install an LN bearing kit instead of an upgraded OEM bearing. They usually require use of Porsche parts. Might be able to confirm at the dealer. Not sure how mud would get into the clutch / bellhousing?

@kc74 hey! Sorry for the delay. Working at the SEMA show.
    1. I did not conduct the research regarding the kit as the service was performed at a Porsche.
    2. The clutch is original.

    Best,
    Drew

@DrewSinn great looking early 986! I took a look at the 2014 repair invoice and had a couple of questions:
    1) it says a LN dual bearing kit was installed but when I check the vin on LN’s website, nothing is found. Did you do research into this or is there a Ln stamp on the car?
    2) the same invoice says they found a large amount of mud in the clutch and bell housing which was cleaned out at the time. Can reason they found mud? And was it has the clutch been replaced at the at time or since? Thank you

I can’t thing of a better car for the Blue Ridge Parkway except maybe a classic 356 Porsche which I did several weeks ago in my 62B Cab with 141 other 356’s at the East Coast Registry Holiday.

As I’ve grown older I’m getting rid of my motorcycle and looking for a fun car for my wife and I to drive on the blueridge parkway. I’m 6’1” do you see that being an issue in this car?
