This 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet is a first-generation 996 featuring a traditional cable-actuated throttle for its 3.4-liter flat-six engine as well as a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. It comes finished in Black over a matching interior with optional leather Sport Seats in addition to 18” Turbo-look wheels and traction control with ABD. This 996 was driven by its original owner for only one year before it was sold to the second owner who kept it for the next 22 years. The car was eventually sold to its third owner a short time before being acquired by the seller in 2023. Showing approximately 39k miles on the odometer, this 6-speed Carrera Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
This Carrera is finished in Black with a matching convertible top and a removable painted hardtop as well as factory 18” 911 Turbo-look cast alloy wheels including optional colored Porsche crest center caps. The car rides on a set of Michelin tires that were mounted in 2018 with less than 1k miles driven since. Other features include a speed-activated rear spoiler, headlamps with integrated fog lights, power-heated side mirrors, and black alloy brake calipers with white Porsche lettering. The seller notes a minor curb rash on one of the wheels and some imperfections on the front end commensurate with normal road-going wear. The hood and front bumper are believed to have been previously refinished for cosmetic purposes. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted by a black interior with optional heated leather Sport Seats. Other equipment includes an optional onboard computer, a central locking system, and fully automatic climate control with A/C. An aftermarket Sony flip-out head unit has been installed, although it is currently inoperable. The seller also indicates one of the power rear windows is misaligned and requires manual assistance to be raised into position.
A water-cooled 3.4-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 296 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with optional traction control including Automatic Braking Differential (ABD) as well as power steering and fixed 4-piston brakes paired with cross-drilled discs and ABS. The seller describes the car to be in excellent driving condition and that a full service and pre-delivery inspection were performed by a dealership upon their purchase earlier in 2023.
This sale will include the original window sticker and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is an excellent original example of a low-mile manual 996. I am a Porsche enthusiast, and this was to be a keeper, however, my Z06 C8 order was filled a year sooner than expected. This car is a driver and performs as it should. A beautiful car that I searched months for and would drive across the country at a moment’s notice. I will have the 911 cleaned and waxed for you so it looks great at pickup. Thank you for looking.

Thank you Drad for the bid! 4.5 hours to go...exact mileage on this 911 is exactly 38,892. I do not anticipate any additional mileage prior to new owner picking it up.
Bid in the amount of $19,750
As mentioned in the bottom of the seller notes, I will personally give the car a full wax again with my Meguires products prior to pickup.
Car already looks great and is clean as a pin, but its been 2.5 months since I've last waxed it so she will have a fresh coat upon delivery.
Thank you wsmc for the nice bid increase. If a couple more folks will do similar moves we can get reserve cleared and have us a great auction. Good luck to you and everyone participating...I just know its going to sell and go to a great caretaker of this super cool 911 convertible.

@merlin12 oh I'm a Porsche guy forever. I will just be without one for the short term. I get fidgety when I don't own one lol..
Perfect condition factory hard top and hardware included with this sale. Just a reminder.
Yea Richard! Good one ! Let's get this party started! Thanks...
7/98 build, cable throttle, superb interior materials, cool sport seats, dual row IMS with reportedly only 1% failure rate, great car. Best wishes for a good auction result, new owner getting an awesome vehicle! Sorry to hear you turning to the dark side of the force(Corvette) HAHA
Bid in the amount of $12,000
With just over one day left I'd like to let all those interested in this 911 that the reserve is extremely low and well below replacement value. I worked closely with the owner of Pcarmarket on a reserve price that was low enough to have a successful auction. I just wanted all to know that this car should definitely sell and you will not be wasting your time by bidding. This car will make the new owner very happy I am certain. Best of luck to all that bid!
@wsmcdowall yes I think that was just a button cover. It was not installed, so I was just going to put one in or cover it with a piece of black wrap. I left it though for new owner to decide how they want to do it. Thank you.
One last question ~ I see a missing dash button to the left of your climate control. Is that still around? Sometimes people use that for an alarm or driving lights. Thanks again.
@wsmcdowall the hard top does have a glass rear window when it is put on. Plastic window for the canvas top. Just wanted to clarify.
@wsmcdowall plastic read window in excellent condition and clear. Thank you for your question.
Hello. Very nice car. Am I seeing a plastic or glass rear window?
@gethelp1984 thank you.

@gethelp1984 can you direct message me your phone number please so I can call you to set up showing? Thank you.

I sent two separate messages. Looking to see her in person. Thanks.
Hello all. Its Pierce and I am the owner of this 911. Its truly an excellent example and likely as good as you will find other than a garage queen or museum piece. Drives great and only a very few imperfections commensurate with its vintage. I am a friendly person, so feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thank you!
