The 996 generation represents the introduction of the water-cooled 911, which continues to gain favor among Porsche enthusiasts with its aesthetically pleasing proportions, analog feel, and naturally aspirated flat-six performance. This first-generation 996 Carrera comes finished in Black over a Savanna Beige interior and comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. This example is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of Tennessee with approximately 144k miles on the odometer.
The 996 generation presented updated styling with sleek body curves, a more raked windshield, and redesigned headlamps. This Carrera is finished in Black with a matching cabriolet top. Modifications include champion-style wheels and a fixed rear spoiler. The seller adds that the soft top has been replaced within the last year. Some paint imperfections are noted including a minor taillight crack, evidence of a previously mounted Aero Kit, slight curb rash, and minor dings along the edge of the doors that have been touched up. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Savanna Beige leather. Modifications include an aftermarket head unit and floor mats. Additionally, a pair of 997 seats have been installed and can be adjusted via an external switch located beneath the seat, and the factory driver's side rocker-style switches need to be modified to work properly which has not yet been performed. The spoiler warning light reportedly turns on at highway speeds as a result of the aftermarket spoiler installation. Some signs of wear are noted, as depicted in the gallery.
The 3.4-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that sends up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The seller adds that the IMS bearing, clutch, air oil separator, and air conditioning compressor have been replaced under the previous ownership. Additionally, a Gundo Hack is said to have been performed on the mufflers.
This sale will include a clean title and owner's manuals.

It’s actually an early car 6/98 production. Now I’m interested, I have a 3/98 coupe and 03 turbo coupe both 6 speeds. Seller any issues with the car that I cannot fly and drive back to Houston. Thanks
@bamaboy473 Yup, that is true as the 99 models have the double row
@bamaboy473 typo scratch 220 and insert model year 2000
@BoogaLoo-King This is a good time to make note that 1999 versions (and early 220 models) were not prone to the bearing failures that were more common for the rest of the 996 series. If the IMSB was replaced, it was a nice touch of PM, and if it was not, it doesn't really matter.
