I took a couple long trips this winter up to northwoods in Wisconsin, maybe 1500 miles. It had about 60k miles in 23 years so my best guess is mostly summer driven and it did not have a hardtop when I got it. Its really not super rough underneath for a car almost 25 years old .
How much winter driving has it seen would you say?

Those covers are removable they make other covers that expose the turn signals if you like that look the headlights were covered with xpel before those covers were put on.
@Markzaar: Thanks for the response. I would need to safety the car and for those turn signals to be visible. What is the material covering them - is it possible to cut open the turn signal section, or remove completely, modify, re-apply? FYI - not trying to return to stock, just nice to have options and parts for older vehicles.
I would think there are tons of original cars out there better suited if someone wanted a stock c4 cab. I forgot to mention in previous post I also have a matching hardtop.
Sounds like Flowchaser intends to do a Safari-ectomy.
The roof is a removable hardtop painted black. I have the old spoiler if someone wanted it. The turn signals are obscured. The new lights on bumper are wired to fog light switch. No old suspension parts. Those are the original wheels.
@Markzaar. I have a few questions please:
1) What color is the roof paint? i.e. is the black paint or a decal?
2) RE: The rear ducktail/spoiler: Is this ducktail in place of the OEM spoiler? If original has been removed, is it included with sale?
3) Are original suspension bits (coilovers, bolts, links) included with sale?
4) Are the front turn signals obscured by the black light treatment, or are they still visible through it?
5) Original wheels are not included?
Thanks!

Sport seats with plaid, that is fun. GLWS
Bid in the amount of $500
Pondering when we will become sad about plaid (seats) as we were in the late 70’s.
Quarter cow in the frunk?
I would have strapped the 1/4 cow to the cargo rack in safari hunter fashion.
https://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog/lets-go-hunting-in-my-porsche/
I would certainly think so, it is very versatile , I picked up a quarter cow at the butcher and it all fit in the frunk...it could also haul a couple cases of beer if one were so inclined.
Thank you!
Based on your reply, you’ve made significant repairs - and the new safari style livery - since the last auction listing.
Now in the new safari style livery, is the 996 AWD cabriolet ‘Mall Rated’?
By ‘Mall Rated’ I mean will it be capable of overcoming all the parking lot, parking garage and lawn/greenery hazards I’ll encounter at a shopping mall?

Thanks.
P.s. I haven't tried to strap a TV to the roof yet but I was able to rock strap some skis to the rack
I did build it. I enjoyed it so much I am almost done with a 996 turbo version of it. In some ways I think this one is better because it's just a little more rough around the edges
Nice to see the spare tire on the roof is a “studded ice tire”. I see it also has the original space saver spare wheel/tire as well so you have all your bases covered there.
Cargo mat and roof rack makes this an all rounder. I can see myself heading home from Costco with a new mattress and huge flat screen TV on top.
@Markzaar
Did you build it?
Thanks for your input. It's actually super fun to drive, good in snow and on gravel roads. Found myself driving it more than my 997 turbo this summer. I feel like it has new life and is a great year round toy.
How to take a makes-no-sense AWD 996 and make it even worse.
Certainly one of a kind.
Best of luck with the sale.
