Available for auction at no reserve is this 1999 Mercedes-Benz W140 S600 finished in Smoke Silver Metallic over a Parchment leather interior. Renowned for its build quality, the W140 S-Class represented the Mercedes-Benz flagship luxury sedan from 1991 to 1999. This final year example was acquired by the seller from its second owner out of Arizona approximately four years ago, accompanied by service records totaling over $45k. This range-topping S600 model comes equipped with a 6.0L V12 engine, the Adaptive Damping System (ADS), heated front and rear seats, the optional Parktronic System, and a host of other luxury amenities. Now with just over 125k miles showing on the odometer, this S600 is being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.

This S600 comes finished in Smoke Silver Metallic with xenon headlamps, “V12” badging, soft-closing doors and trunk, power-folding mirrors, and factory 16″ chrome Ronal alloy six-spoke wheels.  Some paint fading is noted on the roof as well as a small dent below the passenger tail lamp, additional images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The interior is appointed with Parchment Nappa leather accented by burled walnut wood trim on the steering wheel, dashboard, center console, and door panels. Features include heated multi-contour front seats, heated rear seats, rear air-conditioning, electric rear window roller blinds, double-paned glass, a premium sound system, and an electric tilting/sliding sunroof.  The seller notes some wear on the front seats and confirms that all gauges, lights, and accessories remain fully functional.

Power comes from a 6.0L M120 V12 which produced up to 389 HP and 420 lb-ft of torque when new. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The W140 featured a newly developed front double wishbone suspension, a rear independent multi-link suspension, and the hydropneumatic Adaptive Damping System (ADS). The CARFAX report highlights 20 service records dating back to 2000, and physical records detailing over $45k worth of service will accompany the sale. The seller recommends an oil and filter change be completed in the near future.

This sale will include service records and a clean title. Among the most exclusive and expensive luxury cars of its day, this V12-powered S600 represents an incredible opportunity offered at no reserve.

@mikeammain you are welcome, and yes, the roads all seem to be different levels at certain points. I think I also had something in the cup holders, they are no very solid and do rattle when extended. Once again, thanks!

  • mikeammain (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@JEDL01 Thank you! I was referring to your driving video from 2:20 to 2:50 highway driving. Certainly bad bumpy road

  • JEDL01 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@geo_cfarmJenny2914 Hello, and to answer your question, yes. I would not hesitate to drive this any distance. We have actually driven her on multiple trips to Lake Charles, and Galveston from our home. She never misses a beat. I would recommend an oil change before you go far, it’s just due for one. I was trying to listen to the video to answer the other questioners concerns, and all I could hear was typical road noise. I think there was one noise that sounded like the cup holders were extended. I think I had coffee or something in them, so that could be a rattle from them, they are flimsy and located in the armrest, and when extended, they make noise. Thanks for the question!

  • geo_cfarmJenny2914 (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

I don't hear anything on video. Am I missing something? Can I drive it home from Houston?

  • JEDL01 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@mikeammain Thank you for the question. No, the system has not been checked in sometime, maybe a year, but with no warning lights and with it driving fine, it seems all is well. My indy always compliments the ride when he drives it. The vehicle does not have an air suspension, but rather a self leaving hydraulic system for the rear. The ADS system is a firming and adjusting of the different shocks when road conditions change, from firm to cushy, but the shocks are not air, and the button on the console does work. The self leveling works fine, you can put kids, things in trunk and the car does not squat. I listened to the video, and I do hear road noise, and when you hit certain bumps, differences is height between the slabs of road, like two inches sometimes, it does make a road noise, so I’m thinking tires hitting at speed? That’s also while driving my newer S550 on the same roads, yes, they are that bad here. You can fly over railroad tracks and not feel them, but you can hear when the tires make contact, especially at speed. I hope that answers your question, please let me know if there is anything else I can answer, thank you!

  • mikeammain (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

in your video there are loud noises audible from suspension, which is very untypical for a s600 Did you check the air suspension and self leveling system recently?

Hello all, as stated in my response to Vlad600sel, I am honored to be apart of the PCARMARKET community, and look forward to answering any questions. A little background about the car, in short, it was well loved by the previous owners, and the records show that no expense was spared in maintaining her. In my care, I have continued to do regular maintenance that was recommend by the independent MB dealer I have taken her to. She really is a great car, and if we still had garage space, I would not be letting her go. Please feel free to ask anything, I will make myself available to answer ASAP. One thing is clear, someone is going to get a great car and I hope they will continue to show her the love she deserves. I look forward to seeing what happens, and once again, let me know if there is anything I can answer. Thank you!

@Vlad600sel Hello, first let me say I am honored to be apart of the PCARMARKET community, and thank you for the question. The answer is yes, the a/c blows cold, and the entire climate control functions as it should, including the rear seat unit. I will send PCARMARKET a video with a thermometer in the vents to show the temps. Let me also say that this vehicle with a little love would be extremely beautiful, thank you for the comment, she really is a great car. If anyone has any questions, if there is anything in particular you would like to see, I will do my best to answer and show. Once again, thank you!
