Now up for auction is this low mileage 1999 Lexus SC300 finished in Angora Beige Metallic over an Ivory leather interior.  Representing the second to last year of production, this first-generation SC300 was offered with an updated version of the Supra-derived 3.0L 2JZ V8 inline-6 engine, featuring VVT-i variable valve timing and an output of 225 HP.  A true time capsule that remained under the care of its second owner from 2001-2021, this 1999 example has been beautifully preserved in highly original condition and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey while showing under 28k miles on the odometer.

The desirable Angora Beige Metallic finish is said to be entirely original and in excellent condition with a recent paint correction carried out along with some minor touchups.  The only noted flaw is a small touched-up scratch on the passenger-side lower front bumper as depicted in the photo gallery.  Paint meter readings are also provided along with a clean CARFAX. A mid-cycle update introduced in 1996 included a redesigned front bumper, side skirts, rocker panels, and a front grille.  This example remains original in its appearance while riding on factory 16” 5-spoke wheels dressed in older but very healthy Fuzion ZRi tires.

Inside, the Ivory leather interior is described to be in nearly perfect original condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.  Creature comforts include automatic temperature control, front and rear defrosters, an AM/FM CD/cassette radio, electrically adjustable mirrors, power windows, and power seats with position memory.

This SC300 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0 L 2JZ-GE inline-6 DOHC engine derived from the Toyota Supra.  Following a 1998 model year update, these engines were fitted with VVT-i variable valve timing which provided for an output of 225 HP and 220 lb.-ft of torque.  This power is delegated to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission which allows for effortless cruising and a 0-60 time of approximately 7 seconds.  All routine maintenance is reportedly up to date and this Lexus is said to be in great driving condition for its next owner with the last documented service carried out in 2020 at 27,749 miles.

This sale will include a clean North Carolina title (in transit), the original tools, spare tire, first aid kit, and a front license plate mounting bracket.  A future Japanese classic with the heart of a Toyota Supra, this low-mileage Lexus SC300 presents an incredible value.

@the_dude_abides am I on a different website ? Or have you guys mentioned them enough in your post? Lol beautiful car Lexus was really building quality cars while other companies were struggling with quality issues. Stunning time capsule. GLWTA

@rhmoritz The Carfax report in the gallery documents the mileage and service history since new. I also have service records going back till 2010. Just basic services like state inspections, oil changes and filters. As far as NC titles, they do not state mileage.

I didn't do videos for this one. As you said, my rep on BaT speaks for itself and this car runs as well as anything I've ever listed. The 90's Lexus lineup is the definition of over engineering, good for hundreds of thousands of miles. This car is barely broken in.

    Bid with confidence!

Recognized the great photos/presentation from your BaT offerings. Any service history other than the recent maintenance? Mileage documentation? Does the NC title reflect actual mileage? Start up/driving video available? Thanks.

@Lexday47 Yes, you are correct it was a 400 model that sold on BaT. While the 400 started life as the premium option for the SC platform because of the V8, over time the tables have turned as the bulletproof durability of the 2JZ 300 model have become well documented. The V8 found in the 400 is also a great motor, but the inline 6 2JZ motor is silky smooth and will last pretty much forever in stock form or if modified. The BaT car was also 7 years older, and the generation 1 body style. For my money, I will take a 97-00 SC with the host of aesthetic enhancements over a 92-96 SC any day!

@allcarsgerman Correct, can often be a long and tedious process. Good news is, I have and you're good to go. Bid away!

  • allcarsgerman (registered bidder) 3 years, 9 monthsago

@the_dude_abides Okay, thanks. I live part-time in NC and have dealt with their sometimes difficult title situation before.

  • the_dude_abides (seller) 3 years, 9 monthsago

@allcarsgerman Correct, the car is located in NJ but being sold with a private party NC title that arrived yesterday. No worries.

  • allcarsgerman (registered bidder) 3 years, 9 monthsago

@the_dude_abides Very, very nice, but could you clarify title situation? Says car now located in NJ, but has a new NC title. So is it titled in your name? Has the title been issued yet?

Just wanted to take a brief moment to introduce myself and answer some questions. If anyone has any specific picture requests, I will be happy to help.

Just when you think all the SC's from the 90's have 200k+ miles on them, you stumble upon this auction and find one of the best of the best examples left. This 1999 SC300 is in simply stunning condition, a true time capsule. With just 27k miles, it is one of the lowest mileage examples left.

The beautiful Angora Beige Metallic paint is 100% factory original (paint meter verified). Angora Beige Metallic is a very limited color, as it was only available in the final two years of production for the SC (1999-2000).

What makes this car even more special (and beautiful) is the host of cosmetic upgrades the SC received starting in 1997. For 1997 Lexus restyled the front bumper, side skirts, wheels, rear bumper and tail lights. An additional bonus upgrade for 98 was the sporty 3 spoke steering wheel, instead of the 4 spoke (pillow like) wheel.

The interior of the car is no exaggeration like new. Even the often faulty pop out cup holder works!

Mechanically the car is sound as can be, and drives great. This is the only gas powered car that I have ever driven that is so quiet at idle, that you cannot tell the ignition is on. Lexus really over built these cars, and if taken care of this car will likely outlive the next owner.
As you can probably tell I am quite passionate about these cars, and believe it is one of the most undervalued cars in the collector market. Just today a much older model 1992 with 18k miles sold on Bring A Trailer for $26k, so these cars are starting to be recognized for just how special they are.

This time capsule SC is going to make for an epic addition to anyone's garage.

    Good luck and happy bidding!
    The Dude
