The second-generation Lightning was introduced for the 1999 model year and was developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) using the PN96 F-150 platform. Having held the title of “World's Fastest Production Truck” during its five-year production run, the Lightning was offered only with a single cab, rear-wheel drive, a 6.5’ bed, 4-speed automatic transmission, and a supercharged 5.4L Triton V8 generating 360 HP. Finished in Oxford White, this 1999 example was originally sold in Pennsylvania and spent time in New York and New Jersey before being acquired by the current owner. It has been modified with black housing headlights and tail lamps, a paint-matched hard tonneau cover, LED Lightning, a Kenwood touchscreen head unit, a Stealthbox subwoofer enclosure, a stainless-steel performance exhaust system, and upgraded Hotchkis and Ridetech suspension components. Showing just over 95k miles on the odometer, this F-150 Lightning is now being offered by its seller out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, while currently registered in New York state.

The exterior is finished in Oxford White (Z1), the rarest of three factory color choices available in 1999. Some unique characteristics of the Lightning model include a specialized front fascia with integrated round fog lamps, unique upper and lower grilles, and front lower air deflectors, as well as side-exit exhaust outlets and clear taillights. The running board steps and exterior trim have been painted black, black housing headlights and tail lights have been fitted, and a color-match hard tonneau cover has been installed. The CARFAX report shows three prior accident reports with damage to the front and driver’s side front of the vehicle, and the seller notes a small dent on the left side of the tailgate. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the complete CARFAX report. The 18” SVT wheels have been refinished in gloss black and wrapped in stock size 295/45/18 Nitto NT-05 tires from 2021.

The seats are trimmed in Medium Graphite cloth with black leather inserts and SVT-embroidered backrests. Features include power seats, air conditioning, a boot gauge, SVT leather-wrapped steering wheel, and factory alarm system. The interior lights have been replaced with LED bulbs, a touchscreen Kenwood stereo head unit has been installed, and a Stealthbox subwoofer enclosure and amplifier have been added.

The 5.4L Triton SOHC V8 is equipped with an Eaton M112 supercharger, forged crankshaft and rods, and lower compression pistons, producing up to 360 HP and 440 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed Ford 4R100 overdrive automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. With this powertrain, the Lightning can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately six seconds to a top speed of 140 MPH. The suspension has been lowered and upgraded using Hotchkis and Ridetech parts, and a stainless-steel exhaust system has been mounted. The seller reports all maintenance is up to date with an oil change carried out at 94k miles and OEM Ford brake rotors and pads installed as well.

This sale will include a clean title.

The process to register this vehicle in any Canadian province will be as follows.

—- #1: since the vehicle is 15 years or older, it is completely exempt from the RIV program it and has nothing to do with them.

—- #2: you would take the New York title and bill of sale to your closest local CBSA office (does not need to be a land border crossing location) and CBSA will issue you an “exemption form 1”

—- #3: You would email a copy of this exemption form to RIV support (I can provide the buyer with this email address)

—- #4: you would pay CBSA 5% GST and $100 AC tax. Since the vehicle is manufactured in North America, it is duty exempt.

—- #5: you would take all three items (New York title, Bill of sale, and exemption form one) To your local registry location to transfer the title into your name for your own province, and plate the vehicle.

Good morning everyone. Just an update, trying to sort out what the scenario would be if anyone in Canada purchases this vehicle zt to help Ann buyer make this as smoothly as possible

  • savethewheels (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@MontrealG Thanks for your inquiry. Truck is currently located in Halifax. I have attached both full Carfax and VinAudit reports.

  • MontrealG (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Hi there, lovely truck. I see that is plated in Halifax so I would assume the car is here in Canada, correct?
Secondly has it had any accidents?

  • savethewheels (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

To be very clear with everyone, I certainly do not want to give any incorrect or misleading information to anyone. I reached out to both agencies RIV and US dot & shared below what they have advised me.

I do appreciate your comments. Seems rather a bit frustrating or conflicting that you would be given different information, then I have on several Conversations with them.

To break things down as simple as possible,to break things down as simple as possible, I’m told of all the different scenarios that could play out of where a buyer may be located and the vehicle may be headed to, the simplest of the Possibilities is that another US buyer purchases this vehicle. I’m told it’s as simple as transporting the vehicle back to the US, followed by a typical US title transfer. If the buyer is within Canada, or outside of North America, the vehicle will need to go through the US export process And officially imported into their respective new country. Staying in Canada specifically, since it has already travelled here across the border, Paperwork just gets submitted to our RIV To have this legally exported from the US & imported into Canada if staying.

I will be more than happy to see either of these processes through with its new buyer regardless of where it’s headed.

    Thank you all, Cheers.

    Steve

@Romiecharges That is definitely not the information I have gotten, from several conversations with RIV and USDOT. The export process I’m being told does not need to be carried out Whatsoever, since the vehicle was never imported into Canada. The process you are outlining, is the process to export a current Canadian vehicle into the United States.

  • savethewheels (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

I have home through both the import/export processes several times. I will be more than happy to facilitate any buyer no matter where their location is, and the vehicle is to travel to to make this process as seamless as possible.

Thank you for the bids so far, someone is going to get a great pickup at a great price!

  • Romiecharges 2 years, 3 monthsago

@savethewheels yes that is correct. I should have mentioned that for the vehicle to be registered here in Canada. It would have to be exported first from the us. To go through the export process, the vehicle needs to be in the US for 72 hours. An ITN number has to be issued for it to cross into the Canadian border.

  • savethewheels (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Furthermore, they have advised if the buyer is in Canada & wants to Keep it here then they would contact RIV. Buyer would follow RIV’s import process for a vehicle that is already physically here, and follow their outlined process for submitting paperwork to RIV to have the vehicle officially imported from the US to Canada. (Duties would not apply, since the vehicle was manufactured in North America)

  • savethewheels (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Just got off the phone with RIV (Registrar of imported vehicles ) once again, & explained the current situation in detail. They have confirmed yet again, the process for this vehicle returning to the United States again has absolutely nothing to do with them. They are only responsible for importing vehicles into Canada. Where the vehicle is still currently titled in New York, was never exported from the US, and never imported to Canada the process is cut and dry, it can be shipped and cross the border to return. And a normal title transfer would take place in the US. They recommend If any concerns whatsoever, inquiry should be made with US DOT. Not RIV

  • savethewheels (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@savethewheels I had initially spoke to RIV prior to listing this, and was told the vehicle did not need to go through any export process as it was never imported to Canada. It’s still a US vehicle, currently titled in the United States.

  • savethewheels (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@Romiecharges The full process that you just outlined is exactly like I stated, paperwork needs to be submitted. Of course the vehicle is already going to be in the United States for 72 hours if you’re bringing it back,mOf course the vehicle is already going to be in the United States for 72 hours if a US buyer is bringing it bacK to stay. There is nothing further to do aside from submitting the paperwork after the vehicle is shipped across the border.

  • Romiecharges 2 years, 3 monthsago

@savethewheels I just Spoke to a RIV representative and was told the vehicle would have to be brought back to the states for 72 hours, an ITN number would have to be processed and the vehicle would then be legally exported. This is much more than just submitting paperwork.

Greetings folks. I’m happy to answer any questions about this Lightning. This pickup shows extremely well, drives fantastic and sounds even better. Ready for a new home!

I’d like to remind everyone although this truck is located on the East Coast of Canada, it currently still has a US New York title. Canadian buyers, would have to submit paperwork to RIV to officially import the vehicle into Canada. US buyers is a simple title transfer. Overseas buyers, vehicle is currently located in a major port city to travel by boat (container or roll on/roll off)

I have years of experience shipping vehicles in and out, from all locations. I’d be happy to facilitate any buyer to make the transport & acquisition as simple as possible.

No reserve! Someone is going to get a solid Lightning for a great price, Thursday!

    Cheers,
    Steve
