Named after the location of Ferrari’s headquarters, the 550 Maranello was launched in 1996 featuring Pininfarina-designed bodywork underpinned by a 5.5-liter V12 paired with a gated 6-speed manual transmission. This 1999 example is finished in Grigio Titanio over a Nero leather interior and was acquired by the seller in 2020. It comes equipped with an upgraded Tubi Style exhaust system and underwent a major service in August 2022 including new timing belts, tensioners, camshaft seals, spark plugs, and more. This modern classic is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing approximately 39k miles on the odometer.
The 550 Maranello wears Pininfarina-designed bodywork laid over a tubular steel spaceframe chassis. It features a distinctive central air scoop on the front bonnet as well as vented front fenders, rear quarter panels with top-mounted air intakes, a rounded trunk lid with an integrated spoiler, quad circular taillights, and dual double-tipped exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Grigio Titanio and rides on factory 18” 5-spoke magnesium alloy wheels mounted ahead of black brake calipers with white Ferrari lettering. The seller indicates that the passenger-side front fender was refinished following an accident as shown on the CARFAX report in 2009. An associated police report and repair invoice are provided for reference in the gallery. The front bumper was also relished under the seller's ownership and the car received new Michelin Pilot Sport tires along with front-end XPEL paint protection film. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is upholstered in Nero leather complemented by matching carpets and a leather headliner as well as sports seats with deviated red piping. Features include a carpeted rear parcel shelf with leather luggage straps, stainless steel Ferrari-branded door sills, drilled alloy pedals, a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a polished gated shifter assembly with a carbon fiber gear knob. The driver is also provided with power seats, mirrors, and windows, air conditioning, an integrated Pioneer radar detector, and an aftermarket Pioneer touchscreen head unit with a rearview camera. The seller notes that the interior remains in excellent condition and all of the common sticky buttons have been refinished.
Up to 478 HP and 419 lb.-ft of torque comes from a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter F133 A V12 engine featuring dual overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, and a variable-length intake manifold. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An upgraded Tubi Style exhaust system has been installed, the clutch is said to have been replaced in 2017, and a major service was completed in August 2022 including new timing belts and tensioners, an oil separator hose, engine accessory belts, camshaft seals, camshaft cover gaskets, fuel injector seals, spark plugs, heater hoses, A/C compressor seals, and gearbox oil.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a battery charger, and a clean title.

“No strong opinion on value” (tried to edit below)
Will be interesting when this finishes processing to see if it met reserve.
I strong opinion on value….great for seller to see it that much higher here than BaT.

Yes, the master fob is a cloned replacement. The motor mounts were replaced with 575 mounts under prior ownership. The dash was recovered under prior ownership as well to cure the standard shrinking leather that afflict all Ferraris of this era.
The master fob is a cloned replacement? any note of motor mounts replaced and plenum hoses? dash pulling in any areas? thx
The car presents amazingly well. If you didn’t know the car had 39k miles on it you wouldn’t be able to tell by its appearance. Everyone who has seen the car in person has been thoroughly impressed by it. One person commented that they’ve seen cars with a fraction of the miles that didn’t look nearly as good as this car and that based on appearance alone they’d think it had no more than 10k miles. The paint match with both the front bumper and right front fender is perfect. If you didn’t know those items were repainted you wouldn’t be able to tell.
@Steelwool The accident occurred in 2009. I purchased the vehicle at the end of 2020. That amounts to 11 years of use. I wanted the bumper to be as perfect as possible prior to installing the PPF.
It appears from the documentation and description that besides the accident the car was involved in prior to your ownership, that the front bumper was repainted again under your ownership. What was the reason in needed to be repainted?
@Steelwool The car is equipped with Tubi Style - Ferrari 550 Maranello Rear Mufflers.
Bid in the amount of $50,000
It says the car is fitted with a Tubi “Style” exhaust. Is that correct, or is it just Tubi mufflers?
Bid in the amount of $25,000
@Steelwool The fluids were changed 900 miles ago when the major was performed. IMO, there is absolutely no need to replace the fluids every 12 months if the vehicle is properly stored and driven regularly enough for the fluids to come up to operating temperature. But opinions on the matter are varied.
The bumper is not cracked. It’s a slight defect in the PPF where dirt accumulated at the seam line.
I believe the original radio is operational but I can’t say that definitively as it was not installed when I purchased the vehicle. The previous owner stated the radio was replaced to add the functionality of Bluetooth and the backup camera.
It looks like a service was due in August of this year. Has the service been completed?
There appears to be some kind of crack or defect I the lower right front bumper between the splitter and the oval opening in the area where the accident occurred. Can you speak to what that is?
Is the original radio still functional and did you install the aftermarket radio?
