Capitalizing on the Z3 Roadster’s renowned driving dynamics, the BMW M Coupe was introduced in 1999 as a high-performance fixed-roof variant featuring a wider stance and the S52 inline-six engine from the E36 M3. This 2000 example is one of just 125 produced for the North American market in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black Nappa leather for the model year. A true modern classic and a highly sought-after enthusiast car, this meticulously maintained M Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas showing less than 42k miles on the odometer.

The M Coupe is characterized by its fixed-roof hatchback design and includes wider fenders than a Z3 Roadster along with unique bumpers, fender grilles, mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and rides on factory 17” Style 40 wheels. The seller reports the exterior to be in very good condition with minimal imperfections on the hood. The bumpers were previously resprayed due to minor road wear, and removable Bumper Buddy lower front bumper protectors have since been installed. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Black Nappa leather upholstery and features Sport Seats, an M Sport multifunction steering wheel, M-branded door sills, and chrome-trimmed instrument gauges exclusive to the M model. Additional amenities include heated front seats, air conditioning, power windows, a rear cargo net, a Harman Kardon sound system, and an optional power-operated glass moonroof. The seller notes that the windows tend to operate slowly when the doors are closed and temperatures are extremely high.

Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.8-liter M52 inline-six engine, the M Coupe is factory-rated at 190 HP and 206 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Standard equipment includes power steering and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The seller reports that the clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and both the master and slave hydraulic cylinders were replaced in 2023, along with brake and coolant system flushes. The most recent oil change was performed in September 2024 using Castrol 5W-40 Edge Euro blend, with fewer than 500 miles driven since. Over $4,100 in service has been completed since the car was purchased in December 2020. A Braille high-output lightweight racing battery (model B3121) is currently installed and will be included in the sale.

This sale will include a clean title, owner's manuals, a window sticker, and a toolkit.

The seller would like you to know:I have thoroughly enjoyed the few miles that I have been able to put on this M Coupe.  It runs very strongly and loves zinging through the gears.  Unfortunately, my personal circumstances are such that I have indoor storage for 6 cars, and I currently have seven cars.  This M Coupe has always been stored indoors since I have owned it, and is completely stock.  According to the M Coupe Buyers Guide, there were only 106 S52 M Coupes made in Arctic Silver / Black Nappa between 1998 and 2000 with sunroofs.  Always a head turner wherever you go - everyone loves the clown shoe!”

@Bonasa the date codes are 0609 and 1009. There is no cracking on any of the tires and the car has no problem passing inspection.

Looked through the paperwork for age of tires? Didn't find anything so looking for date codes on all four tires. Thanks.

@EnriqueRicardo The 1999 M coupe has the S52 motor which is a 3.2 liter inline six engine factory rated at 240 HP and 236 ft lbs of torque.

WHAT? Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.8-liter M52 inline-six engine, the M Coupe is factory-rated at 190 HP and 206 lb.-ft of torque.

Hello and welcome to the auction of my 1999 M Coupe. This has been a great car to own but as indicated in the write-up, I need to sell one of my cars to accommodate for additional indoor storage demands that I will be facing this summer. I've only put approximately 1,800 miles on the car since acquiring it in Dec. 2020. No modifications whatsoever - this car is completely stock and the clutch replacement in 2023 was done with OEM parts at one of the top European performance shops in Houston. Any questions, please reach out and I'll answer as soon as I can. Whoever buys this gem is in for miles of smiles - the clown shoe always gets attention! Good luck!
