The E36 M3 is the second generation of BMW’s venerable M3 and combines race-proven BMW Motorsport technology with everyday practicality and luxury. This 1999 M3 Convertible is finished in Estoril Blue and features Dove Grey Nappa full leather upholstery, a Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi Sound System, heated sport seats, cruise control, Automatic Stability Control, and a 5-speed automatic transmission with sport and manual driving modes. This M3 was acquired by its second and current owner from the original selling dealership in 2017. This final-year E36 is now offered for auction by its owner out of Pennsylvania showing just over 48k miles on the odometer.
This M3 is finished in Estoril Blue and is complemented by a dark blue convertible soft top. It can be differentiated from a standard 3-Series by its revised front and rear bumpers, side skirts, wing mirrors, and M3 badging on the side moldings and trunk lid. All exterior lighting has been upgraded with LEDs and the factory silver-finished 17” M Double Spoke wheels are mounted with Continental Extreme Contact tires dated 2017. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
This E36 is appointed with a Dove Grey Nappa full leather interior featuring heated and power-adjustable front seats. Factory equipment includes a Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi Sound System, cruise control, an onboard computer, sport seats, a multifunction M Sport steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, a Rollover Protection System, and heated mirrors. The interior is further upgraded with new front door speakers and an Alpine Bluetooth head unit. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly.
This E36 is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter S52 inline 6-cylinder engine which sends 240 HP and 236 lb.-ft to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed automatic transmission. Automatic Stability Control and a 25% limited-slip differential further aid performance. The CARFAX report shows 26 service history records including drive belt and thermostat replacement in 2016, and window regulator and battery replacement in 2015.
This sale will include a clean title and a spare tire.
The seller would like you to know: “All exterior lighting was upgraded to LEDs and new front door speakers have been added. This M3 has been driven minimally and only to car events since I took ownership in 2017.”

@efrazer3 I have two keys. 1999 was not keyless entry.
Watching this one closely as I live near by.
How many keys and do you have the remotes for alarm/keyless entry?
@Trollin86 The convertible is original completely. The tensioners are weakened and opening needs some manual assistance. I took it to a very reputable convertible roof mechanic in Mannheim, PA, and he told me it is wiser to simply help manually with a very simple maneuver as the top and seals are perfect and a replacement is never quite the same. The head unit is original and the heat/AC work fully.
@FunRun4Ever Cold start uploaded
Lovely E36M. Is the convertible top original? Have the tensioners & straps ever been replaced? Does the top operate correctly without any assistance, and is the top water tight? Do you still have the original head unit? Does the AC and Heat work on all speeds? Thank you.
@FunRun4Ever Those are coming
@FunRun4Ever I am not sure where that came from but no regulators were changed
You mentioned a regulator replacement. How many of the 4 were changed?
Hello. Can you post a video of the top in function? A walk around video and a cold start?
@efrazer3 cooling system is original. Leather is not separating on door panel - appears that way on photo. Pin stripe by original owner and I did not try to remove it as I did not want to risk damage to the original paint.
Great looking car! By far one of the best colors BMW ever offered.
Few questions...
What condition are the door cards? Picture 41 it looks like the passenger side door car leather is separating.
Any updates to the cooling system? Guessing it's original?
Is the pin stripe painted on to the car?
Thanks
Thank you
Great car !
