FLASH SALE 50% off buyers' premium for this vehicle: Adapted from the military’s High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) or Humvee, the AM General Hummer was created for the civilian market in the 1990s offering the same rugged performance and utilities as its military counterpart. This 1999 example is one of only 831 civilian Hummers produced during the model year. It features a desirable wagon configuration with vertical rear doors and is powered by a 6.5-liter turbodiesel V8. The truck comes finished in Black over a Cloud Gray cloth interior and equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, torque-biasing differentials, portal axles, inboard disc brakes, a Central Tire Inflation System, optional driveline protection guards, keyless entry, power windows, air conditioning, and a Monsoon premium sound system. Acquired by the seller in 2024 after it had been registered to a single owner in New Hampshire since 2023, this Hummer wagon is now being offered for auction once again on PCARMARKET out of Missouri with approximately 79k miles showing on the odometer.
This Hummer wagon is finished in Black and features steel bumpers, a front brush guard, a fiberglass clamshell hood, a front winch, a rear receiver hitch, power-adjustable side mirrors, a heated windshield, dual fuel fillers, and double vertical rear doors. The truck rides on 17” aluminum wheels with 37”x12.5” BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. A Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) allows the tire pressure to be adjusted remotely from a switch on the dashboard using an onboard air compressor. Slight corrosion is noted near some of the exterior rivets, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The four-passenger cabin is appointed with Cloud Gray cloth and vinyl upholstery. Accessories include manually adjustable front seats, power windows, a black leather three-spoke steering wheel, a locking storage compartment, air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, a reserve fuel tank switch, a transfer case lever, and a premium Monsoon audio system with a cassette stereo and a Delco CD changer. An aftermarket electric power inverter is installed in the rear cargo area. The seller notes discoloration in the corner of the heated passenger windscreen.
Rated at 195 HP and 430 lb.-ft of torque, the turbocharged 6.5-liter Detroit Diesel V8 is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, Zexel Torsen II torque-biasing differentials, and portal axles that drive all four wheels. The truck is equipped with independent suspension, optional driveline protection guards, and inboard-mounted anti-lock disc brakes at each corner.

@Jjbasar Using a borescope camera I was unable to find a date on the passenger side of the block below the cylinder head. Will have someone else give me a hand and see if they can locate it.

Thanks @classic4x4dotcom! I'll amend my question, @hughespt, any chance the engine was replaced under service bulletin and warranty? block production date code on the right rear of the block under the cylinder head
@jjbasar Upon reviewing the history, the truck was initially titled to the first owner on 2/24/99, indicating a pre May 99 production and most likely produced in late 1998. Unless the engine was replaced, it would have a pre E_99 engine production date code.
@hughespt @jjbasar is referring to the dreaded 8th cylinder cracks that plagued the pre GEP engines that were not "modified/enhanced".
The block production date code is on the right rear of the block under the cylinder head. The code is a letter and two numbers. The letters are the month and numbers are the year. ie. E_99 signifies that it was produced in May 1999. Unfortunately, due to low production, pre E_99 engines were installed through mid 2000. Fortunately, due to their common failure many of the "non enhanced" engines were replaced under service bulletin and warranty.
Do you know if this has the enhanced engine block? Could you please check the engine stamp to see if after 5/99 (either original or replaced). Thanks!
