Finished in Ocean Blue Metallic over Graphite Grey upholstery, this first-generation Porsche 986 Boxster is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. It features an Arctic Silver painted roll bar, 17” Sport Classic wheels and interior aluminum inlays along with several other factory options. The seller has invested over $10k in the car including upgraded Feal coilovers, a 997 GT3 short shifter, Numeric Racing shifter cables, and more. This 986 is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its third owner out of Georgia while showing approximately 112k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Ocean Blue Metallic with a black cabriolet top that is said to have been converted to operate manually. Optional features include an Arctic Silver painted roll bar and 17” Sport Classic wheels which come dressed in Hankook Ventus V12 tires from 2020. Other details include silver-painted front grilles, integrated side air intakes, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. A dual exhaust outlet has also been installed. The seller adds that the suspension has been slightly lowered, and some imperfections including slight dents and dings are present. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents Graphite Grey upholstery contrasted with black trim. Options include aluminum-look dials and aluminum inlays within the gear knob and handbrake as well as a 6-disc CD changer, cruise control, Boxster-logo stainless-steel door sills, the Sound Package, and a wind deflector. The seller notes the center console has been removed for extra legroom, the backlight on the odometer display is faded, some wear is present on the driver’s seat, and the remote key fob works intermittently.
Mounted behind the driver is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter flat-six engine rated at 201 HP and 181 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a desirable 5-speed manual transmission and stopping power is handled by 4-piston fixed aluminum monobloc brake calipers on all four corners. The seller adds that service completed throughout their ownership included the installation of new ventilated rotors and brake pads, Feal 441 adjustable coilovers, a cat-back exhaust, a 997 GT3 short shifter, Numeric Racing shifter cables, and a new brake booster. Other service items include a new thermostat, water pump, spark plugs, drive belt, ignition barrel, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and oil. A host of documentation will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and a toolkit.
The seller would like you to know: "Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car for over 3 years and have spent over 10k to get the car to a great driving standard. I believe it will be very hard to find a better-driving Boxster of this vintage. I have enjoyed the process of the build but am not driving the car on a regular basis anymore as I have recently acquired my dream car (991 GT3). The car deserves to be driven and I hope it will find a good home."

@merlin12 Thank you for your interest. Yes, I do still have the center console.
Is the original center console included?
Bid in the amount of $3,750
Beautiful car! GLWTA!
@richardlmiller Thank you for interest. the IMS bearing is believed to be original. Had it inspected by Motor Werks Racing at Atlanta Motorsports Park upon purchase in 2020. No metal traces were found and was advised no replacement was necessary. Foremost Speed Shop did an inspection as well when they did the build of the car and confirmed it was in good shape. The failure rate on the early 986’s pretty low. Especially on the higher mileage ones.
IMS bearing?

@TransaxleJoe Thank you for your interest.. I am not sure if the clutch is still original. What I do know is that neither myself nor the previous owner replaced it. The clutch works well no slippage and normal “bite point”. RMS looks good. In general the car does not have any leaks. Have not had to add any oil other fluids in between services during my ownership
Bid in the amount of $986
Hi, I have also been manually operating my 97’ Boxsters top, working perfectly! :) Coilovers are nice as well. Original clutch? Are there any oil leaks from RMS? Thank you for your time.
I thought I would share some details on the manual convertible top operation. The link below shows the step-by-step process, laid out by a gentleman from Japan who came up with manual top conversion. It works flawlessly (Works the same on the 986 as the 987):

Welcome to the auction of my 1998 Boxster. I'll be here to answer any questions you may have during the process. I have also provided additional photos and a couple of videos to PCARmarket which hopefully will be added soon to the gallery. I realize not everyone is a Max Verstappen fan, so the 33 decal has been removed :-) (pictures will be uploaded soon)
