Representing one of the final air-cooled 911s built, this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera S is sought after for its low production number and distinctive styling with wide Turbo-style bodywork and a signature split-grille rear decklid. This example comes finished in Black over matching leather upholstery. Reported to have been delivered new in California, this 993 is said to have been imported to Germany and was held as part of a private collection until being shipped back to the U.S. in the Spring of 2023. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Connecticut with just under 56k miles on the odometer.
This Carrera S comes finished in Black and has been modified with Racing Yellow-painted brake calipers. It rides on 18” Turbo-Look wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S-02A tires. The seller notes minor signs of road wear, and the roof appears to have been refinished. A collection of images is provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report and paint meter readings.
The cabin is appointed with Black leather featuring 8-way power-operated seats, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, VDO instrumentation with a Carrera S-branded tachometer, a power sunroof, and power windows. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
This 993 carries an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six Varioram engine and sends 282 HP and 250 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard performance features include a dual exhaust system, multi-link LSA rear suspension, and fixed four-piston brake calipers paired with front and rear vented rotors. The seller states there are currently no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include a clean title and a toolkit.
The seller would like you to know: “The car is wonderful - I bought two cars while in Europe and decided to keep only one. I would be happy to discuss my thoughts on the car. It's important to know that the notebook of history was removed from the car during the RORO transport. I will purchase a new records book for the new owner.”

@SkyGroup Sweet combo
@mr.rpm FWIW, it should show on the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche. I have a '98 C2S with painted yellow calipers documented on the CoA. I just now double-checked. It would certainly appear that @longclose is correct based on my experience but I'm open to info that shows otherwise.
Good luck to all bidders! looks like this will go for a great price!
Sold for $139,993
@TTurboS I think that was implied by their comment that it would sell to the high bidder
Did it meet reserve?
@gt3rsfan thank you! This will sit next to my pastel orange GT4
Enjoy it SkyGroup. I just bought another 993 S on BaT. This is a great deal.

@Longclose I stand by my statement. Please post what you have here. thank you
@mr.rpm My information is accurate.
Feel free to forward ur email and I will provide this week.
@mr.rpm We do not have the original factory wheels.
@Longclose do you have the original factory wheels? The wheels currently installed are aftermarket not factory original.
@Longclose Incorrect. Please show some form of factory documentation to prove your point. I will be happy to stand corrected.
Bid in the amount of $77,000
@mr.rpm In 1998 it was possible to order a C2S with Yellow Calipers. It was an option when ordering the car!
Tires worn out inside and old - tires were not changed
- Valve cover at the bottom slightly oil damp - when checked there here is no issue
- Shock absorber HR initially leaking - we did not notice leaking
- Generator bearing makes noise/off - no noise -
Rockfall foils cracked - not repaired
- Center console lighting partially without function - all functioning properly
- Corrosion under the battery - cleaned
- Fog light glass cracked on the left - not repaired
Key bar cover broken - no issue
Engine insulation mat collapsed - new one installed - see in photos
@Longclose You say "Research of 1998 C2S - they could be order in B, R or Racing Yellow - Original to the car was black."
C2S from the factory only came in black. C4S/Turbo in red. Turbo S in Speed yellow. (although not PCCB as they did not exist yet) Regular 993 coupe, cabrio and targa in black. C4 coupe and C4 cabrio in silver.
Translating the German email sounds like there are some items that we’re needing attention. Were those areas fixed/repaired?

@Vince993s - ok
Would be helpful to show images of the two VIN plates on car to compare with carfax and PPI report
Video has been uploaded of underside.
@Gatoloco - this car has no rust - I am working on underside photos this morning.
@Jimbo1964 send you number happy to discuss.
@Vince993s - Weird right? I will see if I can pull some more photos together this am.
Highly desirable 993 C2S so why is this still under $100,000 with 6 hours to go? European history, poor seller engagement? Lack of under body photos? Seller is missing an opportunity to present the car the way it deserves to be shown…
@Longclose you mentioned you are a collector of 993’s. I am also. Would love to talk 993’s with you at your convenience.
@davisjrjr Brake Calipers.... cars have brake calipers.. guns have a size and it's called a Caliber
Longclose,
Good morning. Does the car have rust underneath? Per the car fax it started in New Jersey, and there are no under car pics provided…
Thanks
@artichoke Original Clutch
No Ck Engine lights - no leaks - the car is mechanically in great shape.
Seals are all good.
Fresh oil and filter. - Interior leather is better than 50k miles should be.
Bid in the amount of $74,500
Any check engine light issues? 993's do not like to putter around under 3,000 rpm, which creates issues clogging the manifold vent tubes with carbon, causing an expensive repair or replacement.
Original clutch?
Thanks,
Bob

I realized there were water spots on the front end so I added some new photos for review.

@davisjrjr - Details Master - Stratford, CT
@davisjrjr - they are the original calibers that needed paint - Emegatronic - Elio Mitri (Bridgeport ) took car of coordinating caliber repaint and car service - Research of 1998 C2S - they could be order in B, R or Racing Yellow - Original to the car was black.
I am a current collector off 993's so feel free to ask any detailed questions.
Bid in the amount of $65,000
Are they stock calibers refinished? Who did the calibers?
