Regarded among the rarest and most collectible air-cooled Porsche 911s, the 993 Carrera 2S combines the Carrera’s naturally aspirated flat-six engine and rear-wheel-drive configuration with the wide bodywork of the 911 Turbo. This final-year 1998 example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Classic Grey interior and is equipped with a 6-speed manual transaxle. It was originally delivered in Illinois and came generously optioned from the factory with the Aerokit Turbo II package, Motor Sound Package, lightweight hollow-spoke 18” Technology wheels, an amplified sound system, and 8-way power seats with Porsche-crested headrests. Acquired by the seller in 2025 and treated to a comprehensive recent service, this C2S is now being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania with approximately 35k miles showing on the odometer.
The 993 Carrera 2S shared its wide fenders, bumpers, and side skirts with the contemporary 911 Turbo. Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic, this example features the optional Aerokit Turbo II package, which adds a Turbo S-style front spoiler and rear wing. Other equipment includes projector headlights, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, heated power mirrors, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, dual stainless-steel exhaust tips, black Porsche-branded brake calipers, and optional lightweight hollow-spoke 18” Technology wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The seller notes that the front end of the vehicle is equipped with paint protection film. The seller also notes that some minor chips are present on the protection film portion of the front bumper; detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Trimmed in Classic Grey partial leather upholstery, the cabin features optional 8-way power-adjustable seats with Porsche-crested headrests, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, TechArt pedal covers, and a Porsche Classic (PCCM) head unit. Other accessories include automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, aluminum gear knob and parking brake trim, an aftermarket passenger seat cup holder, an amplified sound system, and a central Carrera S-branded tachometer. Some minor creasing is noted on the seating surfaces, and the seller notes that a hardwired radar detector connection is installed.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine was factory-rated at 282 HP and features a Varioram resonant intake manifold. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle, while braking is handled by fixed four-piston calipers and cross-drilled discs at each corner. The optional Motor Sound Package equips a revised airbox and mufflers for a louder, more aggressive tone. The seller states a major service was recently completed, including an oil change, brake fluid flush, new gearbox and differential fluid, spark plugs, a new drive belt, fuel filter, cabin filter, and engine air filter. Additionally, an extensively stamped service book dating back to 1998 is included.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, a tire inflator, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “A very rare vehicle with a Turbo Aerokit.”
