Representing one of the most sought-after models of its generation as well as the final year of the air-cooled Porsche 911, this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera S was purchased new by its current owner and is finished in a rare combination of Pastel Yellow over Chestnut Brown leather upholstery. It came from the factory with optional hardback Sport Seats, stainless steel exhaust pipes, and a limited-slip differential and has been upgraded with a cold air intake, a performance exhaust system, and adjustable Bilstein coilover shocks. Driven approximately 1,500 miles per year and maintained by reputable Porsche specialists, this Carrera S is now being offered for auction by its original owner out of New York while showing just over 38k miles on the odometer.
The 993 Carrera S or C2S shares its wide bodyshell and bumpers with the contemporary 911 Turbo and is distinguished by a unique split-grille rear decklid. This final-year example comes finished in Pastel Yellow (L12M), an uncommon color offered on the 911 between 1997 and 1999. It rides on factory 18” 911 Turbo-Look wheels dressed in Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires (2014). An additional set of 18” Technology wheels with Nitto tires is said to be included as well. The seller states that the car’s paint is entirely original and has been treated with a ceramic coating. The exterior is said to remain in good overall condition apart from a small paint chip on the front bumper and two small chips near the passenger headlight. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean one-owner CARFAX report.
The cabin features rare Chestnut Brown (SD) leather upholstery including factory-optioned hardback Sport Seats. Other equipment includes the Sound Package, a Porsche CDR-210 stereo, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, and a central locking system. An aftermarket stainless steel footrest and accelerator pedal have been installed and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 282 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. The seller indicates the car has been upgraded with an aftermarket cold air intake, performance exhaust system, and adjustable Bilstein coilovers. The car benefits from annual oil changes and inspections and has been regularly serviced by the Porsche specialists at Eksten Autoworks and Black Forest Motorsport in New York. The seller notes that front hood shocks are weak and replacement shocks are included in the sale.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and an air pump. The seller notes a duplicate title has been issued and is expected to arrive within their possession by the end of the auction or shortly thereafter.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I bought this car in 1998, it has had only one owner and one driver. It has a couple of cosmetic flaws (see photos). Runs great! The tires are old but look like new. I would not recommend track time, but they should last a long time for street driving. Also, a full set of Nittos on Technology wheels is included. The car was stored every winter in my climate-controlled garage. It has had no bodywork, all original paint, ceramic coated, polished, and buffed every year.”

@pf993 Hi pf993. Yes it has the motor sound package. Thanks for your kind comment.
does it not have the Motor Sound Package? I was confused why that filter is showing? Wow this car is unusual and amazing!
Bid in the amount of $122,750
@Silver930 my first experience with the dealer was not good. Tried to fleece me. Always used a Porsche specialist like Black Forest or Ecksten
@PAEuros actually, I am out west, so I have more time than you think.
I would guess the Maintenance book in the pouch has some Stamps in it. Dealers still stamped the books back in 98 99 early 2000s
Pretty amazing Color combo and spec.
Best of luck with the sale. This is a spcial 911 that is for sure.
Wednesday morning the auction will be over, haha!
To all interested bitters: I will be flying all day tomorrow. I will answer all your comments on Wednesday morning.
@ldesautel Dry ice will do it. I will have it done at the highest bidder’s request and to the highest bidder’s satisfaction
How difficult is it to remove that black spray undercoat or is that a permanent situation? I wonder if dry ice could do it.

Yeah, they called it chestnut brown. I Coll it chestnut red.
Chestnut brown sure looks a lot like red to me
Do all interested bitters:
I have found a dry ice blaster. If you are the successful, bitter and want the undercoating removed, I will have that done.
@1998pc2s I only complained a little bit. Shame about the dry ice deal. Wasn't sure if there were any local shops who did that service. We run into cars often that could use that service.
(yes, this is Jason)
It could be blasted with dry ice but no one does it locally
Purely out of ignorance, I had the car undercoated when it was brand new. I don’t know what the product is. I can find out if it’s needed. My mechanic has complained about it.
Hello, can I ask why the underside of the car seems to be painted?
Age and health issues.
Why are you selling this special car?
Bid in the amount of $115,000
The OEM exhaust and shocks are all boxed up and ready to go. I’ll be out of town for a few days so pictures are going to have to wait till the end of next week.
@momotime I did not have the paint thickness metered. The paint is all original, and nothing has been repainted. The extra wheels are aftermarket. Believe it or not I bought them so that I would never have to use that little doughnut.
Bid in the amount of $112,000
Bid in the amount of $110,000
paint meter readings please.. also pics of the o.e.m. components that you removed and installed aftermarket units. the additional wheels you state come with the purchase? Are the additional technology wheels original for the car ? thanks

I certainly can agree that I've spent a lot of money on just two upgrades. I think they were well worth it. there have been no repairs. I drove it every summer just to keep everything fresh. Never driven aggressively. Nothing ever broke.
Aside from oil changes what else has been repaired or replaced? If you check out my 1987 Turbo listing on here it had a book of documents about an inch thick. It was a bit surprising how much money had been spent on the car over the years.
@Pschendel The short answer is no. The long answer is, when I purchased a car I had no intentions of selling it, and had no idea that I would need documentation, so I did not save it. Extend had a fire, burned up their computers and lost my history. Black Forest has the history since then But it’s just oil changes and inspections.
Hi! Can you please describe the documentation you have for the car? The listing says you have the original window sticker. Can you post a photo? Do you have all the service records from Eksten Autoworks and Black Forest Motorsport? Thanks!
@PAEuros When the car was new, I had the car ceramic coated and undercoated. My mechanic hates it.
@acr89 Thank You.
Bid in the amount of $10,993
Bid in the amount of $1,500
Was the underside coated or painted with something black recently?
Beautiful. An example like this doesn’t come around every day.
His name is Craig Ruzt. Past president of Watkins Glen. I think he's at Mid Ohio now. We were there for an opening day track drive.
Love the yellow paint. Who signed the dashboard.
Bid in the amount of $993
Correction: Those brand new Nittos are on brand new BBS wheels. And there is an extra set of Technology wheels without tires.
Hi folks, welcome to my auction. I am the only owner and only driver of this car. Having driven it about 1,500 miles a year it has a couple of paint chips that I decided might look worse if I had them touched up. Always kept in my climate controlled garage. I have the original exhaust system and the original suspension shocks which I upgraded to Bilstein coil overs, which lowered the car nicely, I hope you like it. Bid to get it!
