We are pleased to offer this 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S finished in Black over a black leather interior. Marking the final year of the air-cooled Porsche 911, this 1998 Carrera 4S features the wide bodywork, brakes, and all-wheel-drive system of the Turbo model coupled with a naturally aspirated engine and 6-speed manual gearbox. This example came generously equipped from the factory with the exclusive Aluminum/Chrome Package, an aluminum shifter and parking brake handle, the Motor Sound Package, heated supple leather seats with lumbar support, and more. A lifelong California car, this Carrera 4S was recently acquired from its original owner and is now being offered for auction with approximately 48k miles showing on the odometer.
Sporting the wide fenders, rockers, and bumpers of the 911 Turbo, this Carrera 4S comes finished in nonmetallic Black and features oval stainless-steel tailpipes as part of the Aluminum/Chrome Package. The exterior is described to be in very good condition overall and the seller notes that the hood and passenger-side front fender have been previously refinished, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Inside, this C4S showcases a black interior with optional supple leather seats and full leather upholstery extending to the dashboard and door panels. A set of red seatbelts have been added and stainless steel door entry guards with model logos are equipped as part of the Aluminum/Chrome Package as well as aluminum-look instrument dials. Other optional features include an exclusive aluminum shift knob and parking brake lever as well as 8-way heated power-operated seats with lumbar support. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional including the original CR-210 radio. The factory specifications label on the underside of the hood lists the following options:
The last of the air-cooled 911s, this 1998 Carrera 4S is powered by a 3.6L flat-six engine paired with a VarioRam induction system and 6-speed manual transmission. As much as 282 HP is sent to all four wheels while stopping power is handled by large Brembo brakes shared with the 911 Turbo. The optional Motor Sound Package also equips a revised airbox and louder mufflers for a more aggressive tone. The seller states that extensive service records were kept by the original owner and that the undercarriage has been recently detailed using cryo-blasting technology.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals, spare tire, air compressor, and a clean title. Generously optioned from the factory and maintained by its original owner, this final-year 993 Carrera 4S awaits its next caretaker.

It went quietly and very cheap. Unless I missed something in the description of the car. I assume it had a clean carfax.
that went quietly.
@Zjs2057 Congratulations! Beautiful car. It took all the self-control I could muster not to join that last-second bidding.

@riley17 I would say about an 8.5. It has normal wear for the miles. Nothing bad that stands out. No rips or tears just normal wear.
Pure. Wow
On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate the condition of the interior leather throughout the car particularly the front seats?

@jallen Looking at the paint meter readings now it looks like only the Rear quarter has been painted. I went back over the car today and saw a 7m reading on rear quarter which is the highest of any other panel. I know the Doors and roof usually read a little thinner than the front end on 993's. I honestly don't know if the front has been painted or not. Any 993 paint experts want to chime in? The paint is amazing on the car, the car is spectacular top to bottom and inside out. There is one small dent on the front fender but my dent guy is coming tomorrow to pull it out. The original owner told me the car had no paint work so can't get much info out of him on that.
The listing says, "the hood and passenger-side front fender have been previously refinished." I'm no paint expert, but from what I've seen, factory paint is typically 3-4 mil thick. So I'm assuming these 6 mil readings are re-sprayed panels. Is that the right way to read this? Thus, the paint readings seem to indicate that in addition to the passenger-side front fender and hood the other front fender and the passenger-side rear fender have an extra coat of paint.
@RRM26 - Obviously the pictures look flawless, but they're all from the glamour shoot. When was the paint work done? Any idea whether there was damage that led to the paint work? Guessing it caught some gravel on that big passenger-side hip. Any sign of masking on those panels, or were they removed for painting? Can you take it out in the sun and get some detailed pics or video? It's hard to believe in 48,000 miles and no PPF, there's not a single knick on that nose, so I'm assuming the front bumper also has new paint? Or was there PPF that's been removed?

@jallen The car does not have any ppf, just the stone guards on the quarter panels.
where can I find the paint meter readings?
Does the car have PPF on it? And if so, when was it applied?

Can you post additional real-life pictures of the exterior of the car (as you did for the interior and undercarriage)? The ones posted look like prints and I'd like to see the quality of the paint (chips, nicks, etc.. if any). Of course, any commentary you can provide about the exterior paint would be great. I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
George
