Finished in Glacier White over Parchment leather upholstery, this 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is said to have spent most of its time in storage before 2004 and was eventually acquired by the selling dealer in March 2023. Powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, it equips a black removable soft top, a Bose sound system, automatic climate control, and power seats with memory functions. Showing approximately 7k miles on the odometer, this R129 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
Finished in Glacier White (143), this SL-Class features a black power convertible soft top as well as a body-color removable hard top. The equipment also includes headlight wipers, fog lights, fender air vents, a twin exhaust outlet, and 18” AMG 5-spoke wheels dressed in Sumitomo tires. The seller states the right side of the vehicle was refinished under prior ownership, and service in 2021 included replacements of the soft top hydraulic cylinders, antenna mast and seal, right fog light, and the right-side mirror glass and motor assembly. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is situated within a Parchment leather interior complemented by world wood accents spanning the doors and center stack. Amenities consist of seat position memory functions, automatic climate control, cruise control, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, a deployable roll bar, and a heated rear hardtop window. The headliner is said to have been replaced in 2021.
Beneath the hood lies a 5.0-liter M119 V8 engine factory rated at 315 HP and 347 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission while stopping is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The crankshaft actuator gaskets are said to have been replaced in February 2021 along with the accessory drive belt, tensioner pulley, battery, and hood insulation pad. Additionally, the seller adds that brake dust shields have been fitted and the front ball joints were replaced in February 2021. Corrosion is noted on the underbody, and an oil change was recently performed.
This sale will include a clean title.

Welcome everyone to our amazing auction for this incredible car. I originally purchased this car to keep in my personal collection. I have a bunch of vehicles, I just recently put some AMG wheels on it to really beef it up to make it look like a true sport, it changed the look dramatically. The car is stunning in every way, I’ve decided to sell the car as I’m probably never going to use it. I have so many cars and I really don’t have any convertibles, but I do have an 89, 560 SL which I enjoy driving every now and again ,so this car probably won’t get used. This car is in amazing shape. I do have the original window sticker and manuals and tool kit which I will post, the top hydraulics were done in February 2021. I know there was some paintwork done on the side, but its undectable and perfect, . I believe we do have a receipt somewhere showing what happened on the side ,I believe it was minor and happened going in and out of the garage from what i was told , which also included a side mirror replacement , I was told that it was owned by two wealthy brothers down in Florida who owned a broadcast company, , ( and from looking at the title and reg we see that it was a one owner and owned by a broadcasting company) and it sat in a garage in Florida most of the time ,the car was serviced at a dealer in Del Ray beach which all entries are on the CARFAX. This car is absolutely stunning and amazing in every way. I have not seen a nicer white one ever. I want to wish everyone great success in bidding, and let’s hope someone will be getting a new Christmas present. I’m here to answer any questions as the auction goes on and again good luck to everybody
