Introduced in 1996 as the first front-mounted V12 Ferrari grand tourer since the 356 GTB/4 Daytona, the Ferrari 550 Maranello showcases Pininfarina-designed bodywork and a 5.5-liter V12 paired with a gated 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. One of 3,083 produced in total, this Euro-spec 1998 example is finished in Nero Daytona Metallic over Nero leather upholstery and has been equipped with a Tubi-Style exhaust system. It was sold new in Greece and later moved to England where it was routinely serviced at the renowned Joe Macari Ferrari dealership in London. The car was later registered in the Netherlands and eventually imported to Canada in 2022. Benefitting from a major service in 2024 including new timing belts, valve cover gaskets, cam seals, a new fuel tank, and a rebuilt steering pump, this 550 Maranello is now being offered for auction with approximately 79k kilometers or 49k miles showing on the odometer.

Situated around a tubular steel spaceframe, the Pininfarina-designed bodywork features a distinctive hood scoop, fender vents, circular taillights, and an integrated rear spoiler. This example is finished in Nero Daytona Metallic and rides on silver 18” 5-spoke magnesium alloy wheels. Other equipment includes a front chin spoiler, fog lights, power mirrors, quad exhaust tips, and black brake calipers with white Ferrari logos. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires show production date codes from 2017 in the front and 2016 in the rear. The seller notes the full exterior is preserved under clear paint protection film. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Nero leather upholstery including power-adjustable seats with crested headrests and a three-spoke steering wheel. The driver is provided with power windows and door locks, automatic climate control, a rear parcel shelf, a storage net, drilled aluminum pedals, a polished gated aluminum shifter, an aftermarket Pioneer stereo, and black floor mats with red edging. The seller states that the interior is in excellent condition with no sticky buttons.

The naturally aspirated 5.5-liter F133A V12 engine features dual overhead camshafts with four valves per cylinder and a variable-length intake manifold. It delivers up to 478 HP and 419 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An aftermarket Tubi Style exhaust has been installed and a service in March 2024 included a coolant and brake fluid flush, a rebuilt power steering pump, new timing belts, valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, cam seals, a new fuel tank, and fuel lines.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “In total 3,083 units of the 550 Maranello were produced between 1996 and 2001. Painted in Nero Daytona Metallic makes this 550 even more special. Delivered new in Greece, this 550 then remained in Europe as it went to London and was extensively serviced at the famous Joe Macari Ferrari dealership in London, England. This is a very sorted driver than you can enjoy as values will continue to climb for these front engine, V12 gated manual transmission Ferraris.”

@1974Bronco Hello, I do not have service receipts, however I have the original service booklet that came with the car showing service stamps from Ferrari official dealers going back to 2002. I am having PCAR upload these right away. I have our most recent Ferrari Quebec dealer service invoice for over $20k from March 2024. AC works well yes.

  • 1974Bronco (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

How much documentation do you have to go with the car. Maintenance receipts back to X date?
Do you have any info on the clutch, at 50k if driven been changed a couple times?

  • Jaysenc (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@1974Bronco Hello, I would have to get quotes from different companies to get the best price however the average would be about $3000 USD to ship from here in Quebec to Atlanta GA

So just to clarify, I’m in GA north of Atlanta. If the sale price were $100k I need to add $3k to the price approximately 3% fee, what about freight. I’m just looking to get an estimate from you seeing as you have done to offen.
    Thanks

@IAS My pleasure, as far as we know, no paintwork was done, the car was in such pristine shape, we decided to install a PPF to protect it

  • IAS (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@Jaysenc awesome! Thank you for the quick response. So no paint work at all under the ppf?

  • Jaysenc (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@IAS Hello, dash is in perfect shape with np leather bubbling like some others, headliner is fully intact as well, no issues with any interior trims, if you see the pictures further at the bottom, I have included some of the headliner and dash and condition of both are immaculate. The whole vehicle has been covered in a plastic PPF wrapping to protect it, which is why it looks like that in pictures. Tubi Style is the official brand of exhaust, some people refer to it as just Tubi but the real brand name is called Tubi Style, the cats are original, the mufflers/exhaust system are Tubi Style.

  • IAS (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

Hi great looking 550. Have a couple short questions. 1 delaminating in the windshield usually coincides with other heat damage ie dash, headliner, from your pics it’s not clear to me if the headliner is failing or the dash is full intact. Please confirm or deny both. 2 Paintwork? Is it all original, seems pic 50 shows some unevenness around the door lock can you please meter the car so we can all know what the camera is showing. 3 exhaust is stated as tubi “ style “ is it tubi brand and to what extent- the resonator says Ferrari, the catalytic converters look aftermarket and no branding to identify and the mufflers are not shown. Without oem catalytic converters this car will not be allowed in my state. Please let me know on all 3 before I bid. Thank you for your time.

@a41apache Hello, we can take care of the entire process for you as we have done this many times, there is 2.5% duties, .35% MPF duties

  • a41apache (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

what is the process to import this car to the US

  • Jaysenc (seller) 2 months, 3 weeksago

@zuff It certainly is a beautiful color, thank you!

  • zuff (registered bidder) 2 months, 3 weeksago

Nero Daytona Metallic is a beautiful color; much nicer than ordinary black. This one looks nice. Best wishes with the auction.
