Named in honor of Ferrari’s home province, the 550 Maranello was unveiled at the Nürburgring racing circuit in 1996 featuring Pininfarina-designed bodywork underpinned by a 5.5-liter V12 paired with a gated 6-speed manual transmission. This 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello is one of only 3,083 examples produced in total and is finished in a timeless combination of Grigio Titanio over red and black leather upholstery. It features upgraded Tubi-style mufflers and benefits from service history including new timing belts, valve cover gaskets, thermocouplers, spark plugs, a water pump, updated fuel pumps, and a recent engine compression test with satisfactory results. Previously registered in Florida, Illinois, and Texas, this Ferrari was purchased by the seller from a private collector in Southern California in 2023 and is now being offered for auction with approximately 35k miles showing on the odometer.
Mounted to a tubular steel spaceframe chassis, the 550 Maranello’s Pininfarina-designed bodywork features a prominent hood scoop, vented front fenders, rear quarter panels with top-mounted air intakes, a rounded trunk lid with an integrated spoiler, quad taillights, and quad exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Grigio Titanio (3238) with factory 18” 5-spoke magnesium alloy wheels professionally refinished in silver. The car rides on Bridgestone tires from 2018 and is described to be in excellent cosmetic condition. The seller indicates the front bumper was previously replaced and painted which resulted in a minor damage report on CARFAX in 2017. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with black and red leather featuring diamond-stitched upholstery on the headliner and rear parcel shelf. Accessories include power-adjustable bucket seats with embossed headrests, stainless-steel Ferrari-branded door sills, drilled aluminum pedals, a gated shifter, a polished aluminum gear knob, rear luggage straps, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows, automatic climate control, and an original Ferrari-branded stereo. The seller indicates some slight damage on the ashtray and stretched leather on the front passenger side dashboard. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional including the air conditioning which blows cold.
Featuring dual overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, and a variable-length intake manifold, a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter F133A V12 engine delivers up to 478 HP and 419 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A major service was completed about 5 years ago at 33,867 miles including new timing belts, tensioner bearings, auxiliary belts, a water pump, thermostat, coolant hoses, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, a timing sensor, a cat temp sensor, a rebuilt fuse box, a new A/C condenser, vacuum hoses, intake elbows, and hood struts. The seller adds that the thermocouplers have been replaced, a new Interstate battery has been installed, updated fuel pumps were fitted in February 2024, and an oil change was completed under their ownership along with spark plug wires. Service documentation is provided in the gallery along with a recent compression test showing all cylinders are within spec.
This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a battery charger, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a great driving car that's had a lot of service just done that is often overlooked on these cars. It presents well. The paint is very nice, and the wheels are redone with not a mark on them. Ready to enjoy for the next owner.”

@Chiro911 a minor accident that's all I know.
@Carrerafan the bumper was replaced from a minor accident
Can you please shed some light on the damage report. How was the bumper damaged?
@seller why was the bumper replaced? Was there actually an accident or damage? Paint meter readings?
@Jadvette94 that's a good question.
A couple of factors here.
Carfax isn't the holy grail of information
And.. Montana could have simply input the wrong color.
Either way the cars not blue nor has it ever been.
Any idea why Montana noted the color as blue in the carfax?
