An updated version of the original Dodge Viper, the second generation SRII model made its debut in 1996 with new aluminum suspension components, a rear-exit exhaust, and an optional removable hardtop. This 1998 Viper RT/10 was first titled in Idaho before spending time in New York, California, and eventually Nevada after being acquired by the seller in 2014. It is said to have been refinished in its factory color of Viper Red and has reportedly been diligently maintained with comprehensive service records. Modifications include a cold air intake system, a Corsa Performance cat-back exhaust, and a shift light fitted on the steering column. Showing approximately 19k miles on the odometer, this Dodge Viper roadster is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Nevada.
This RT/10 is finished in Viper Red (RN) with a black convertible soft top and an optional black tonneau cover. The exterior is said to have been repainted in its factory color, and reportedly shows no rock chips or blemishes, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Equipment includes front fog lamps, a rear center-exit exhaust, a NACA-ducted hood, and silver 17″ five-spoke polished wheels which are mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires showing date codes from 2016.
The interior features two bucket seats upholstered in black leather, along with a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include air conditioning, an anti-theft system, power accessories, an Alpine AM/FM/CD radio connected to a 5-speaker sound system, tinted windshield glass, a leather-wrapped steering column, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage mounted above the center stack. A shift light has been installed on the steering column.
Power is derived from a naturally-aspirated 8.0L V10 which produces up to 450 HP and 490 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, which allows the Viper to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in just over 4 seconds with a top speed of 180 MPH. A cold air intake system and a Corsa Performance cat-back exhaust have been added for improved performance. The seller reports the vehicle has been regularly maintained since new, and comprehensive service records are said to accompany the sale.
This sale will include 2 keys, owner’s manuals, the original window sticker, a car cover, a battery charger, associated sales documents, and the original Viper driving tips VHS tape.

@2000Firehawk no issues with the dash. No fading, cracking or any other issues. The cover is there to prevent any of those issues And it is the viper dash cover so it’s got the snake in the center of the cover.
@robbymanning Thanks for the known details on the paint. I see the pad/cover on the dash by the windshield. Is that covering any issues with the upper dash (cracks/tears/separations)?
@2000Firehawk repaint was done by someone in California. It was done before I purchased it so I don’t know by Whom
@2000Firehawk To my knowledge the repaint was just a refresh because it had been sitting in someone’s garage for over a decade. Clean Carfax so it wasn’t repainted for an accident
@robbymanning - Also, when was the repaint completed and by who?
Any word on why it needed a repaint? Were all panels repainted?

@jay993 thank you.
I purchased the Viper about eight years ago with the two mods already on it so I don’t have those parts. If you’re interested in car shows like I am and you like to keep it stock most car shows will allow you to remain in the stock class with 2 mods that’s why I never did anything else to the car.
Hi Robby, Sorry to hear of your condition. Just wondering if you had the original exhaust and intake?
Hello everyone, my name is Rob. Unfortunately I have to part with my pride and joy after eight years due to disabilities. I’ve averaged less than 500 miles a year on it since I’ve owned it. It has zero mechanical or electrical issues. I mostly drove it to car shows. Happy bidding and please let me know if I can answer any questions. Thank you.
