Introduced in 1997 as a high-performance version of the Z3 roadster, the M Roadster features more aggressive bodywork, widened rear fenders, larger brakes, a retuned suspension, and the S50 engine borrowed from the E36 M3. This North American example is one of 2,763 produced for the inaugural model year and only 961 to have come finished in Imola Red II over Black Nappa leather upholstery. It was purchased by the current owner in 1999 with approximately 5k miles and has been diligently maintained and garage-kept ever since. Showing under 35k miles on the odometer, this M Roadster is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of Utah.
Compared to a standard BMW Z3, the M Roadster features a wider rear track, aerodynamic wing mirrors, redesigned bumpers, revised side vents, and quad-exit exhausts. This M Roadster is finished in Imola Red II (405) with a black convertible top and rides on factory 17” Style 40 “Roadstar” wheels. The seller indicates some minor signs of road-going wear and notes that the Continental tires were mounted within the last 1k miles. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black leather interior features power-adjustable and heated sport seats, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, air conditioning, cruise control, chrome-trimmed gauges, a three-spoke M sport leather steering wheel, an M-branded gear knob, and a Harman-Kardon 10-speaker sound system. The seller notes some scratches on the passenger seat bolster. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Derived from the contemporary E36 M3, the Z3 M Roadster features a naturally aspirated S52B32 inline-six-cylinder engine with VANOS variable valve timing, producing up to 240 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a ZF 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Compared to the standard Z3, the M Roadster has a firmer suspension, thicker anti-roll bars, more robust semi-trailing arms, a strengthened subframe, and brakes borrowed from the E36 M3. The seller states the car was serviced about 10 months ago with less than 200 miles driven since and there are no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include a window sticker, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, an air pump, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “25-year ownership. driven by a little old lady, (be nice it’s my wife). The clutch is fine. It’s a really nice car that has had its top stored in the up position, in a garage, for 99% of its life. everything works as intended.”

Because if it looks half as nice as the rest that would be significant to the next lucky owner, as it's a gorgeous car.
Would have loved to see some pictures of the underside of the car. 240 pictures of the interior, engine and exterior.
I have had trouble loading my pictures. sorry It's probably too late in the auction for me to post . there has never been any significant repairs.just oil changes, replaced brakes years ago. everything works as new and it needs nothing.
The car looks pretty clean. Do you have the service records you could post?
