Now available for auction is this 1998 BMW E36/7 Z3 Roadster finished in Alpine White over a Sand Beige Oregon Leather interior. Drawing inspiration from the legendary BMW 507 Roadster and Z1 model, the Z3 was developed as a rear-wheel-drive two-seater sports car based on the E36 3-Series platform. This 1998 example was originally sold in Florida and under previous ownership was fitted with upgraded LED lighting, an aftermarket exhaust system, an aftermarket cold air intake system, and a front strut brace. Now showing just over 26k on the odometer, this sparingly driven Z3 is being offered for auction by its third owner out of Florida.
This BMW is finished in Alpine White (300) with an electrohydraulic convertible soft top in black. The Z3 follows the characteristic traits of a BMW roadster with its long hood, short overhangs, and seating position just above the rear axle. The prominent kidney grilles, side vents, and fender-mounted roundels pay homage to the BMW 507. Other exterior details include upgraded LED headlights and fog lights, a fixed-position antenna, and a single exhaust outlet. This Z3 rides on 17” BMW wheels mounted with Nankang tires from 2019.
The cabin features Sand Beige Oregan Leather upholstery with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Driver amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an onboard computer, power-operated seats, and a premium 7-speaker Harman-Kardon sound system. The seller reports a new rear window for the convertible top has recently been installed.
Under the hood, this Z3 features a naturally aspirated M44 1.9L inline-four that produces up to 138 HP and 133 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Recent service includes new spark plugs, a fuel filter, an oil change, and flushes of the coolant and braking systems.
This sale will include original owner's manuals, a toolkit, a set of keys, and a clean title. With its low mileage and desirable manual gearbox, this Alpine White Z3 presents a great opportunity to own a future classic.
