This 1998 BMW E36 M3 Coupe is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over Black Nappa leather upholstery and features a 5-speed manual transmission paired with its S52 inline-six engine. The car was acquired by the seller from an esteemed BMW collection in Southern California and was formerly maintained by the marque experts at Enthusiast Auto Group (EAG) who carried out approximately $15k worth of service in 2017. This M3 has also been tastefully modified with the installation of a Dinan air intake and Stage II engine tune along with upgraded Bilstein Sport struts. A well-preserved example of an increasingly sought-after modern classic, this M3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing under 35k miles on the odometer.
The E36 M3 is based on a contemporary 3-Series and includes a more aggressive front air dam and rear diffuser along with flared rocker panels, M-Style aerodynamic mirrors, M3-branded body moldings, and a polished dual-tipped exhaust outlet. This Coupe is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic and rides on factory 17” Style 23 M Contour wheels Records indicate the windshield was replaced by EAG in 2017 along with the mounting and balancing of four new Dunlop ZII Star Spec tires. The seller describes the exterior to be exceptionally well presented, showing only very minor imperfections as depicted in the photo gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Nappa leather with heated and power-adjustable Sport Seats, a three-spoke M Sport steering wheel, and a matching headliner. Other details include M3-branded door sills, floor mats, and instrument dials as well as an M gear knob and tri-color M accents on all four seats. The driver is also provided with power windows and mirrors, an electric sunroof, a central locking system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an AM/FM cassette stereo paired with a Harman-Kardon HiFi sound system. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter S52 DOHC inline six-cylinder engine with variable valve timing. The S52 was factory-rated at 240 HP and sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This M3 received an upgraded Dinan air intake and Stage II tune for increased power as well as upgraded Bilstein Sport struts, a front X-brace assembly, and Hawk HP+ brake pads. Standard performance features of the M3 include a four-wheel independent sport suspension, variable-assist power steering, and four-wheel ventilated anti-lock disc brakes. A collection of maintenance records provided by the seller includes a major service invoice from EAG in 2017 showing a cooling system overhaul, a new ABS throttle actuator, power steering lines, shock mounts, control and trailing arm bushings, an A/C blower motor assembly, and clutch pedal assembly among several other items.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, service records, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a car that cannot be replaced! I've owned several E36 cars and this is by far the cleanest nicest, most well-maintained example that I’ve had. This unit belongs in a collection of other BMW cars owned by a BMW enthusiast with the proper experience to appreciate this example.”

@madmac this auction does have a reserve and I’ve made it reasonable enough so it will hit that amount and sell. My goal is for all my auctions to have a 100% sell rate. Good luck in the last hour

As a previous owner of this car, I have to jump in and let everyone know that this E36 is probably the finest one on the planet. I have owned many E36s and even an Evo and each time I want one better than the last one! I am not in a position to keep all my favorites and I am moving up to an even better E39 M5. A similar car sold recently on Bat for $55,000 and I saw that one in person, this one is way better and it's all in the details. Add that to the OCD owner before me, and the fact it has the EAG history, whomever gets this beauty is a lucky person!
GLWA!
@DPL understood, thanks for supplying the videos you have so far. One last question - is this a no reserve auction?
Good morning everyone! Today is the final day for this beaut. This is one of those cars that everyone will miss when they’re not the winning bidder so don’t miss out. This should be a record setter today, good luck and have fun with it.
@madmac good morning. I unfortunately can’t make it to my storage facility today as I’m out of town with my family through Monday. I have uploaded 5 other videos as I’m sure you noticed that will give you a solid representation of this car combined with over 200 pics. I hope this message finds you well. Good luck and maybe we’ll be chatting soon with your winning bid!
@DPL any shot at getting the cold start footage before we get into the final stretch?
wow, ten years from now we will all be saying "remember when these cars were $50,000"! The E36 is such a great car to drive and this one looks amazing, even seems to have a full tool kit in the trunk, and the always missing glovebox flashlight!

Hello everyone, my name is Drew (IG @drewleslie), and I’m here to answer any question during or after the auction. I’m very excited to bring this concourse 1998 E36 M3 to market. This example is shown in Cosmo Black over Black interior and is great for any collection with only 34,000 miles from new. The E36 M3 is my personal favorite M3 to drive and is also one of the most beautiful designs to date. For anyone that has previously purchased a vehicle from me will know that I’m an open book, so please ask any questions and I’ll be sure to answer them as quickly and respectfully as possible. Traded vehicles are an option with me, feel free to DM with the details of your car and I can even help you with financing terms if needed. Thank you for your interest and happy bidding. #ToTheMoon
I want to point out a few details as we get this auction started.
1. This car is a previous EAG car from 2017 that you can see in with the supportive sevirce docs attached
2. The vehicle has been in 2 private BMW collections since it left EAG’s hands
3. The car has a ceramic coating over. I do not know what brand as I did not install it.
4. You can see that the car has been serviced annually at the owners’ dealerships if you read
the attached CarFax report.
5. There is NO prior paint or damage to the paint on this car.
6. This vehicle is arguably one of the cleanest E36 cars that you’ll ever find
7. There are several additional videos that are getting uploaded today that I overlooked. Cold start, walk around, driving video etc.
This is a collection quality car/spec and the condition will impress even the most discerning buyer. I hope you enjoy, good luck and happy bidding.
Please reach out with any specific questions. Thank you, DPL
