Offered for auction is this 1998 BMW E36 M3 Coupe finished in Bright Red over a Black Nappa leather interior. Representing the second generation of BMW's high-performance M3, the E36 version combined BMW Motorsport-derived technology and experience gained from the E30 M3 with everyday practicality and luxury. First introduced to Europe in 1994, the E36 M3 received a facelift in 1995 in addition to a new 3.2L inline-six engine called the S52. This 5-speed M3 is said to be one of only 695 examples finished in this color combination for the 1998 production year. Originally delivered in Texas, this E36 spent time in New Hampshire, Illinois, and most recently Florida where it is now being offered for auction showing approximately 91k miles on the odometer.
The bodywork is finished in Bright Red (Hellrot, 314) and features M3-specific bumpers, side skirts, and mirrors in addition to a decklid spoiler and dual exhaust outlets. The seller reports the front bumper, hood, and fenders have been refinished to address road-going wear. The exterior has also undergone full paint correction and ceramic coating treatments. Clear turn signals and taillights have been fitted, and the original orange lenses are said to accompany the sale as well. The factory 17” BMW Style 39 wheels come dressed in Continental Extreme Contact tires from 2020. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is trimmed in Black Nappa leather with matching door panels, carpeting, and M3-logo floormats. Standard features include power-adjustable and heated Sport Seats with M-striping, an M-Sport leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, an onboard computer, a Harmon-Kardon audio system, M3-logo door sills, and power windows, door locks, and mirrors.
This E36 M3 is powered by a 3.2L S52 inline six-cylinder engine which produced up to 240 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque when new. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and a mechanically-locking limited-slip differential. The seller notes that an aftermarket coilover suspension has been installed, and the last service was completed at 88k miles with a new thermostat, spark plugs, brakes, air conditioning belt, air filter, and a steering rack boot.
This sale will include a clean title. Well presented and true to its original appearance, this E36 M3 offers a great opportunity to own a future European classic.

@SDSU1993 Car is amazing to drive. Is on H&R Springs, and the rear looks low because of street level.
@vintagepointmiami
Rear suspension seems to be sitting a little low. Any insight here? Beautiful car. I owned the same car in Estoril/Dove. Definitely ranks in the top 3 driving cars I have ever owned. Unfortunately, mine was totaled when I was hit from behind. I've always wanted to get back into one.

@nosoup4u Front suspension was refreshed with Turner Refresh kit level 3 (Control Arms & Bushings,Outer Tie Rods,Sway Bar End Links,Strut Tower Reinforcement Plate, Strut Mount & Gasket). Rear suspension was also refreshed, including new shocks. No records on water pump and clutch. Car drives good, clutch fells good.

Always had a soft spot for E36 M3's. Can you tell us more about the bushings? When were they last replaced (LCAB's, RTAB's, etc.)? Did they replaced the water pump (metal) at any point? RSM reinforcements? Has clutch and components ever been replaced?
