This 1998 BMW E36 M3 coupe is finished in Boston Green Metallic over a Modena Nappa leather interior and is said to have been acquired by the seller in 2008. During their ownership, this M3 has been diligently maintained in addition to receiving a long list of high-quality modifications including a rebuilt cylinder head, Koni shocks, Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs, Ground Control adjustable camber plates, an aFe cold air intake, a Corsa exhaust system, a Spec Stage 2 clutch with a single mass lightweight flywheel, a Rogue Engineering short shit kit, a custom sound system, and much more. This 1998 BMW M3 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Ohio, showing approximately 184k miles on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in Boston Green Metallic (275) with black Shadowline body trim. The M3 can be distinguished from a standard 3-Series by its model-specific front and rear bumper covers, side skirts, M door mirrors, and dual exhaust tips. Equipment includes custom black housing headlights with Morimoto HID projectors for high and low beams, fog lamps, black kidney grilles, tinted glass with UV-protective film, clear Euro-spec side marker lights and front turn signals, quarter panel pop-out windows with new rubber seals, new BMW roundels front and rear, and ceramic-coated trim moldings. The CARFAX report shows an incident that occurred in 2002 resulting in minor damage to the rear bumper. The seller notes some door dings are present and states that the hood, mirrors, and rear bumper were refinished for cosmetic purposes. The rear wheel arches and quarter panels were also repaired and refinished to address rust. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the complete CARFAX report. The 17” staggered-width D-Force wheels are fastened with a Bimmerworld racing wheel stud kit and mounted with Continental ExtremeContact tires from 2012.
The cabin features power-adjustable Vader sport seats reupholstered in Modena leather and a new black headliner. Amenities include a power sunroof, automatic climate control, a Kenwood Bluetooth head unit, a Polk Audio 500w amplifier, a leather-wrapped M-Sport steering wheel with inner M tri-color stitching, a Turner Motorsports short shift kit with a custom shift handle, an onboard computer, M-branded instrumentation, M3 tread plates, and an Escort 9500ci radar detector.
This 1998 M3 is powered by a 3.2L S52 inline-six, which shows dyno-tested results of 230 WHP and 225 lb.-ft of torque. The cylinder head of the engine was said to have been refreshed at 154k miles with restored valves, new valve spring retainers, a Raceware cylinder head racing stud kit, a new head gasket, a new valve cover gasket, new oil tube seals, new spark plugs, and a new oil pan gasket. The rear wheels are driven by a 5-speed manual transmission which has received updated shift detent selectors and a spring kit, E21 320i heavy-duty transmission mounts, a new Stage 2 Spec clutch kit, a single-mass lightweight flywheel, a new clutch slave cylinder, and Redline transmission fluid. Other modifications include a Corsa exhaust system, an aFe cold air intake, a Turner Motorsports performance tune and underdrive pulleys, an upgraded oil pump with the nut secured by red Loctite, a Stewart lifetime water pump, a custom electric cooling fan, an auxiliary oil/air separator, a Duralast battery, and AKG Motorsport 75A polyurethane engine mounts. The suspension includes adjustable Koni shocks, Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs, Ground Control adjustable camber plates, Turner Motorsports lower control arms and bushings, a Turner Motorsports heavy-duty front anti-roll bar with bushings, a BMW front subframe X-brace, a Turner Motorsports weld-in front engine support, Turner Motorsports weld-in subframe reinforcements, a Turner Motorsports solid aluminum differential bushing, SPC double-adjustable rear lower camber arms, Powerflex polyurethane rear trailing arm bushings, new BMW rear sway bar bushings and subframe bushings, and new BMW rear wheel bearings. UUC stainless steel braided brake lines feed the brakes that are equipped with Pagid high-carbon brake rotors and StopTech pads in the rear. Sets of Pagid high-carbon rotors and StopTech pads for the front are said to accompany the sale as well. The seller also notes the engine oil has been changed every 3,500 miles during their ownership.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, front brake components, some documentation, and an additional black insert for the lower front grille to replace the cracked piece currently installed.

@set600 Steve, I am very excited and honored to be the next owner of your beautiful M3. Your videos and the pride of ownership that was evident throughout your presentations convinced me from the beginning that I had to win this auction!
I live in Denver, Colorado and would plan to fly into Cincinnati and drive the car home. Please call me at your convenience and we can discuss logistics, funding, etc.

@Ryguy0492 there are 2 or 3 door dings. That is what you are seeing. Headlights: the clear lens are gone and the entire headlight bbucket has been custom modified to accept the Morimoto HID system. The new light are fantastic. The old lights just can't hold a candle to the new system. If for some reason you did not like the outstanding light output, you could always buy some the Knock off headlight buckets and take it back to stock. Thanks for biding, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful car, just a couple questions:
pic #72, is there a ding in the rear quarter panel or is it just the lighting?
Also it looks like there are no headlight lenses in the front, any reason?

@Dom33 Thank you. I just want the new owner to love this car as much as I have. I have had a lot of BMW’s, but I certainly waited too long to get an M car. This car is one of the best BMW’ s I have ever owned. Thanks again for your kind words.
Peace* lol

@MooF given unlimited storage space, I would never sell my Boston Green E36 M3 coupe, as it would be sitting in the garage next to my E36 M3 Techno Violet convertible. Nice chatting with you.
Hi Steve,
Appreciate the response, and well thought out response via video as well. Cheers to being a responsive seller !
I have a TechnoViolet E36M3 convertible which is a stunning color, however, it was purchased to replace my E36M3 sedan in Boston Green which I regretfully sold in haste when I didn't understand what these cars were all about.
Thanks again for sharing and I'll be watching closely.
@MooF see my reply above. Thanks.
Just so everyone knows, I'm 71 years old and I am not very good with the computer, or typing for that matter, so please be patient. I'll do my best to answer all the questions.
Zero track time. Daily driver only. I have a dedicated BMW E30 for track use. Rear seats are all ORIGINAL, other than cleaning and sealing. Front seats received new foam anywhere there was damage (all the usual placs on the edges), and brand new Modena Leather. Sealed and polished. Moof, thanks for looking. This is trully a one of a kind M3. I've heard Techno Violet is the most popular color for E36M3, but Boston Green is MY favorite.

Hi @set600,
great looking M3, love BGrun.
Have the seat(s) been replaced or refinished? Seem to be in great condition considering the mileage and E36 interiors never wear that well?
Also, can you talk a little bit about how much track time this car has seen? Seems to be modified for track use and would like to get more info on that? Thanks.
