A special, limited-production version of the final air-cooled Porsche 911 Turbo, the 993 Turbo S was created by Porsche’s Exclusive department in 1997 featuring larger K24 turbochargers, revised engine programming, an additional oil cooler, quad exhaust system, carbon fiber and aluminum trim, full leather upholstery, yellow brake calipers, Aerokit II spoilers, and air scoops on the rear fenders. This example is one of 345 produced in total, and only 183 were originally sold in the United States. It was purchased by its first owner in Beverly Hills, California, from Champion Porsche of Pompano Beach, Florida. The car is finished in Black over a matching interior with optional supple leather seats, lumbar support, a carbon fiber steering wheel, and self-dimming mirrors. This Turbo S was acquired by the previous owner in 2002 at approximately 12k miles and joined the current owner’s air-cooled Porsche collection over 7 years ago with less than 600 miles driven since. One of the rarest and most sought-after versions of the final air-cooled 911, this Turbo S is now being offered for auction out of South Carolina with under 21k miles showing on the odometer.
Finished in Black (A1), this Turbo S can be distinguished from a standard 993 Turbo by its unique air scoops in the rear fenders, Aerokit II front and rear spoilers, front brake cooling ducts, yellow-painted brake calipers, quad exhaust outlets, and 18” hollow-spoke wheels in a matte silver finish. Other equipment includes Litronic bi-xenon headlamps with washers, fog lights, power mirrors, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, and Turbo S logo wheel center caps. The Michelin Pilot Sport tires are dated from 2023, and the front bumper is said to have been refinished in the late 1990s. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing moderate damage in 2014.
The Turbo S features exclusive carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin as well as aluminum-look instrument dials, stainless steel door sills, and Porsche crested headrests. This example is appointed with Black leather upholstery including optional supple leather seats with lumbar support and a carbon fiber-trimmed steering wheel. Other accessories include optional auto-dimming mirrors with rain sensors, an infrared anti-theft system, black Porsche-branded floor mats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, and a Porsche CDR-210 stereo. The seller notes some minor creasing on the leather seats commensurate with the car’s age.
Producing up to 424 HP, the Turbo S features a special 3.6-liter flat-six engine upgraded from the factory with larger K24 turbochargers, a revised exhaust system, an additional oil cooler, and revised ECU programming. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD). The Turbo S also comes with a carbon fiber front strut tower brace. The seller indicates the car has been recently serviced and there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you visiting my auction. This Turbo S has been part of my collection of significant air-cooled Porsche’s for more than 7 years. Stored in a climate-controlled warehouse, the car has lived a pampered life. Lightly driven and well maintained in February 2024 a Porsche dealership added 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport tires, drop links and sway bar end links. The car is stock – no modifications and is all-around awesome. I expect I’ll be asked: ‘Why are you selling it?’ My answer: I hate selling any of the cars in my collection, but I have limited space and time to drive each one, and they all must be driven. So, it’s time to thin the herd, and after 7 years of ownership it is time for someone else to maintain and pamper this Turbo S.”

Thank you everyone for your bids thus far!
I just want to remind everyone that there is no need to wait to the final seconds to bid, as I would hate for someone to miss out on this great opportunity for a fantastic car that is the Mecca of air-cooled Porsches.

@theweekendmotorco thank you for providing paint meter pics. Not trying to be overly knit picky here but could you please provide pics of the paint meter near the front edge of the hood and front fenders? Just want to ensure damage didn’t extent beyond front bumper. Much appreciated

Porsche should just start building the 993 again.
This one looks like a solid example and authentic down to the "leather on everything including the door sill trim" equipment level. The dampers appear to have been replaced and the usual witness marks of it being serviced for a quarter century.
It would be good to get photos of the underside with the engine tray removed.
There's a few things that deteriorate on the turbo, the clutch accumulator, the turbo oil return lines and the pressure side of the turbo pipes tends to fill with oil and that gets into the intercooler. This can result in smoky starts that look serious but can be as simple as a malfunctioning check value in the oil filter, especially when left parked for extended periods.
It would be great to see the receipts laid out to document whatever maintenance has been done.
The years in Canada would apparently account for half the miles and be the time when it was having preventative maintenance.
It's particularly rare to see a 993 damaged in the front … they're usually going off into the scenery backwards and the repair is not a trivial $2916.07. I'm guessing this was "a little quick at the freeway ramp, panic brake, too late."
I don't know how to quantify how that impact impacts the market value. Maybe enough to bring this one within the reach of the likes of me.
Porsche should just start building the 993 again. Air-cooled, use modern technology to pass emissions, particulate filters, crash tests, using lighter, strong construction and materials, nothing unobtanium, not expensive, not intended for the Singer or any of those boutique bauble buyers to speculate on the "greater fool" theory of turning artificial scarcity into "perceived value."
Make so many of them they can't be collectible. I imagine they'd replace a few sales of the 992, but most of those customers would be shocked to see a third pedal, and the gearshift acts as an anti-theft device.
VW/Porsche has made the mistake of profit before all else and priced their interesting cars as collectibles for the dealers to trade with "privileged" customers willing to play the "artificial scarcity" game.
I think a modern day 993 would revive the "driver's car" excellence of Porsche and bring in new generations of drivers.

Can you provide paint meter pics?
@artichoke we do not, tons of documents supporting the minimal cosmetic repairs, just no pictures.
Any images of the front end damage before the repair?
Love the car I had a 1997 triple black cabriolet with a 6 speed and decided at the time (Wrong Decision) that I wasn't a Porsche guy. Love this car and obviously by the repair costs I would think the accident was pretty minor in the big scheme of things. The Turbo brings the additional power needed to this car. Love the wheel bulges and just the entire look. It means business in a super cool way!!! Awesome!!!!!
Dream car!
@elimiz yes they are photos 135,136,137
Do you have repair estimates and scope of work and Invoices from the accident where it hit a guide rail and ran off the road ? Can we review these please ? Thx
