We are pleased to present this very unique 1997 Porsche 993 Turbo S for auction. With only 182 examples ever built, the 993 Turbo S stands as one of the most highly-sought after 911’s in existence. Possibly a one-of-one example, this Turbo S features an extremely rare build and is an ideal vehicle for the perspective Porsche collector. It has been in the hands of its original owner since new and is now showing 18k miles on the odometer.
At first glance, it is clear that this Turbo S is something special. It has been specially ordered in Cobalt Blue Metallic and features unique styling cues such as a factory wide-body with iconic integrated air vents, yellow brake calipers, a revised rear spoiler, a quad-tipped exhaust system and an Aerokit front spoiler with special vent and fog-light placement. This example also comes equipped with factory 18” exterior color-matched wheels that are wrapped in new Michelin tires.
Inside, you will find a specially-configured Metropol Blue leather interior that highlights factory carbon fiber trim and yellow deviated stitching throughout. Clearly a unique build, this interior also features a factory rear seat delete, yellow seatbelts, digital sound package and a carbon fiber steering wheel. A few tasteful add-ons were installed by the owner including removable Techart pedal covers, custom carbon fiber center console trim with a built-in radar detector and yellow painted seat-back which were implemented by the selling dealer among his purchase. The seller notes the interior to be in excellent condition with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.
The Turbo S received a healthy performance boost over the standard 993 Turbo. Featuring larger twin K-24 turbochargers, an additional oil cooler and some mechanical fine-tuning, the 993 Turbo S is capable of producing 424hp, about 25hp more than the standard Turbo. The Turbo S rockets to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, impressive even by today’s standards. This 993 delivers power to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that H&R springs are installed and set to a euro height which enhances the look of this Turbo S. A Fabspeed exhaust has also been installed for a pleasant exhaust note. This Turbo is said to be up-to-date on all due maintenance and remains in excellent running condition. Records of service will be included with the sale.
The sale of this incredibly unique Turbo S will also include two keys, the original window sticker, a certificate of authenticity, and a clean Carfax report.

Absolutely gorgeous car I look at most every time that dealer is visited. Has been ‘for sale’ for probably the last decade, always at 200+ over market. Wonder if it will finally get a new owner?
@lee88 thanks for your story and glad you have your keeper 993 TTS. They will only keep going up in value from everything I know about their demand curve, so hats off to you!

I own a 993 Turbo S and previously owned a '96 993 TT, so familiar with both. I would say a 993 TT gives you 98% of the driving experience of the Turbo S, especially the US spec models. The Euro spec 993 TTS made more power as it has the turbos from the 993 GT2. But honestly a regular, stock 993 TT is still a pretty quick car even 20+ years later in a world of 700+ HP cars. There isn't a ton of turbo lag, but the way these cars deliver power is more subdued than say a 996 GT3 or something. They handle well, though you do feel a bit more weight and turn in feels more sluggish than a RWD 993.
My TT also had hardback seats and a bunch of Exclusive options including carbon fiber and leather interior bits, so felt a little "extra" special compared to a plain jane specced 993 TT. But the Turbo S looks cooler and feels even more special if that makes sense. From a collectability standpoint the Turbo S is a cut above though, just given the very low production numbers.
They're both great cars, and super all-arounders... sporty back roads, long distance grand tourers, or even track days. I had the "Kills Bugs Fast" poster on my wall in college in the 90s so this car always resonated with me. After I sold my TT I regretted it and now that I have the TTS it's a car I envision keeping forever.
Air Brigade looks at why this 993 Turbo S is worth the extra $150,000 over the 993 Turbo also for auction. https://www.airbrigade.com/post/porsche-993-turbos

@nosubstitute4porsche - thank you for your extremely generous offer, and I hope to take you up on that some day. Similar to you, it would break my heart to sell my current two in order to buy another, and this one is worth well more than both of mine when the dust settles. Best wishes to you John!
@RumbleAuto @stevetheodore if you find your way out East give me a shout. I have a 69S and a 71E targa we can have fun in. I also have some 98 cars(c4s and c2s) that need exercising, and a 97 turbo(not an S)I have been watching this car for a long, long time but I would have to sell 2 or three of my others and I would miss them too much.I did buy a turbo S a while back thru park place (miller motor cars in Connecticut has it on sale now)and the owner of the car was from the hertz rental family. Very nice man (John) and the lady at park place was stellar to work with to say the least. Do you think this cobalt blue car has been tracked? Are there a lot of stone chips ?

Like @stevetheodore, I also have seen this car in person as well as online half a dozen times over the last several years when it’s been advertised for sale.
I’m quite surprised it hasn’t been sold yet, and hope this time it finds a new owner.
It truly is unique looking, and to imagine it came from the factory essentially as it is makes it something special.
New addiction. Can’t stop looking at this thing
@nosubstitute4porsche - sadly no, and although I own a couple very nice water pumper 911s these things have quickly gone beyond my budget. I find myself more intrigued with older 911s the longer I own them, and the 993 models are near the top of my list.

@RumbleAuto @stevetheodore Have you ever driven one or owned one?
Being local to the dealer marketing it, I've been fortunate to see this car on several occasions in person and it is truly stunning. Porsche didn't make too many Turbo S models in the 993 generation and this one is glorious to see!
