The end of an era for Porsche’s air-cooled 911 Turbo, the 993 generation was the first to adopt a twin-turbocharged engine paired with an all-wheel drive system. This 1997 example comes finished Arena Red Metallic over Cashmere Beige leather upholstery. Acquired by the seller in 2011, it is now being offered for auction out of Maryland with approximately 42k miles on the odometer. This vehicle was previously sold on PCARMARKET and is being auctioned again as the initial buyer failed to complete the transaction. The seller is including additional documentation and content that was not available on the first auction.
Compared to a 993 Carrera, the Turbo model presents widened sills and rear bodywork as well as a body-colored rear spoiler and redesigned bumpers with three front air inlets. This example is finished in the 993 Turbo's Yy color of Arena Red Metallic and rides on factory 18” Technology hollow-spoke wheels with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires from 2019. The seller notes slight signs of road wear on the front bumper, and the vehicle has been ceramic coated. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Black and Cashmere Beige partial leather upholstery. Equipment includes driver’s seat lumbar support, cruise control, a power sunroof, a Becker-Porsche CDR-210 stereo, and a trunk-mounted Alpine CD changer. The seller notes minor leather creasing.
The air-cooled twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends up to 408 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is derived from fixed 4-piston aluminum “Big Red” Brembo brake calipers paired with cross-drilled rotors front and rear. The dynamic Active Brake Differential (ABD) and a limited-slip differential are also equipped as standard. The seller notes an engine-out tune up has been performed, and the check valves were recently replaced.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Maintenance is up-to-date and the paint has been professionally cleaned and ceramic coated. This car is a joy to drive and you won't be disappointed”

@NHCarguy Thank you
@Craiguf Thanks Craig, the jubi is my second favorite! A very close second.
Bid in the amount of $140,000
I’ll chime in. I was the #2 bidder last auction at $200k. Would’ve been there again today if I didn’t drop my monetary load on a 964 jubi on BAT(same screen name)…. Bittersweet, because I’m still tempted to tap a HELOC to try again!! GLWA seller…. This is one of my bucket list cars for sure!!
What a shame that some feel they need to disparage another’s vehicle for sale. Obviously the paint isn’t being measured in mils. Single stage paint for the 993 generation can be a bit erratic. Nonetheless, pretty car. GLWTS.
folks please keep the comments respectful and mindful that the seller is here to sell a very special car. We don't want to have to shut the comment section down, it is not for fighting, rather it is for respectful discussion of the topic.
Wish I could post pics of my cars here and show you what a "nice" one is supposed to look like.
@seller
Again,this is a nice driver car. Not trying to beat it up,but when spending this kind of money,I and others want to be well informed.
Kiteflyer is actually not helping you,but hurting this auction.
@twinvipers…you have no idea what you’re talking about. Check out my 993 I purchased on BAT (same screen name). The readings were all over the place and mine was not repainted either..
This seller has gone out of his way to be honest and idiots like you are making false statements that could potentially hurt his sale.
@roberth sorry these auctions are so tough and you’ve had a bad experience. That said, I’m not in the market for another one but if it doesn’t sell here, reach out and I may buy it. I love the color…
GLWTA
@GT00797 you should bid with confidence then…

@RobertH I owne several 964 and 993 turbos among other high end cars. The paint meter does not lie. Its inconsistent and thats that!!! No matter what the setting it on. Its been repainted. Like I said,its not the end of the world but when spending this kind of money the buyer should know the truth. Maybe this is one of the reasons it didnt sell prior. Buyer showed up and wasnt as described. Looks like a very nice driver quality car.

@GT00797 Thank you
@rak1161 Thank you rak1161, the gauge was indeed set to microns. Now I'll figure out the conversion or take new photos! Thanks again for enlightening me. RH
@rak1161 Implication versus fact is a very different thing. Many articles and forums suggest factory repaints and hand sprays can vary. Seems to indicate original paint based off the photos and carfax. Either way, stunning car and hope to one day own one like it!
@RobertH Do you know if the paint meter gauge is set to mils or microns? The unit of measurement you show in the photos is not apparent. It might be microns and most people usually use mils. If microns, anything above 100-150 implies greater thickness than factory , so the readings in the 300+ range would be indicative of repaint. Maybe repost after setting gauge to mils. Just a thought.
Pretty car nonetheless!

@RobertH Can you post a photo of the option sticker on the underside of the "Frunk"
Also any chance there is the window sticker laying around?
Thanks!
Thanks Jimbo1907 and RedArcadia. I appreciate your kind words.
I've done some digging on Rennlist on paint discrepancies. Hot topic it seems. At times from the factory or from a dealership when something might happen to a car before it is sold there may be paint repair. Anyway, that being said my turbo is extremely clean and still kills bugs fast!!
I'm local and wish I could afford to buy this car. I could never ask for anything more. For me, this would be the one. Good luck with the auction.
Stunning car. Evidently, someone's eyes were bigger than their bank acct. Hope it sells this time, but there are worse things than keeping this Turbo, with the spring coming up before too long.
twinvaper must be some sort of paint guru! 80% repaint?! Wow! I have not owned the car since new and maybe the previous two owners (who were friends) are liars. My car in the sunlight or under fluorescent lights shows no indication of any paint work. Of course carfax doesn't mean anything, but twinvaper has never laid eyes on this car and I can assure him if he ever did, would not find any indication of a repaint or even 80%. I encourage anyone truly interested and not just closely watching to try and see the car in person.
Thanks for posting the paint meter readings. Seems about 80% of the car has been repainted for some reason. Doesn't make it a bad car,but buyers obviously should know. I'm still interested and watching closely.
Paint readings have been posted!

@TheBaron Thanks Baron
@RobertH Beautiful TT❗️ Ignore the comments from people like bcayes….. another keyboard warrior that has NO intention of bidding on your car and just wants to start shit…. good luck with this auction, hopefully this buyer will come through.
@twinvipers Yes
@rak1161 Not sure about the seats, I'm the third owner. Paint meter has arrived and I will try my best!
As far as the first auction is concerned, I believe he had buyers remorse after an unforeseen personal problem.
It's unfortunate, but it happens. We're all human.
Maybe Pcarmarket can post the interaction redacted but I'm unable to.
I remember from the first listing a month ago that there had been several requests for paint meter readings but that they never had been provided. Hoping we can get them this time around.
Also, photo 85 shows rear seats that appear to be supple leather, which a lot of 993 Turbos seemed to be equipped with. The fronts seats clearly are not supple leather. Do you know if the front seats are not original.
Finally, not sure if you can comment why the prior sale was not closed, but I think it would be helpful to have some disclosure.
Thanks
How are those paint meter readings coming?
Bid in the amount of $130,099
@kiteguy2019 Thanks kiteguy
Seller, can you take some close up pics of the gravel pieces using 10 different examples with your camera at the highest magnification? Is the gravel predominately granite in composition?
Also, where is the car located? If I bring my own lube, would you mind if I came to see it and crawled up the tailpipe to personally inspect the engine?
Seller…beautiful car. Some of the BS “Porsche auction” comments from guys who have no intention of buying can wear you out. You’ve got a beautiful car. Stay the course and it will find the right new owner. GLWTA.
@LJB790 The turbocharger line update. Please see the work order I just uploaded
Thanks

@bcayes Thanks, it's been a labor of love! I'll try to get some photos underneath but with the roads still all salty from some winter weather I am hesitant to drive it to the shop.
@RobertH Thanks for the info. You have a beautiful car. I don’t need brand new, but gravel can be concerning. Also, nice looking cobblestone!
What check valves were replace and why are the wipers removed?

@bcayes Great question beecayes and good eye. My driveway is 1/2 mile 4 year old blacktop. The area in question is from the cobblestone courtyard behind my bank-barn (which is the garage) to the blacktop. This relatively short span was paved with millings until I could complete the cobblestone work. I will get on top of the stalls and get you a photo looking down at the area. Again, thanks for the question and thank you for looking although this might not be the car for you as the underside does not look brand new. Best regards, RH
How much damage has been done to the undercarriage and paint from driving on that gravel road? Are there paint chips on the fenders and in the wheel well?
@twinvipers coming soon
@RedArcadia Thank you
Absolutely stunning car. A boy can dream. I better go buy some lottery tickets.
How about paint meter? Can buy one on Amazon for 50.00 and have it tomorrow
@twinvipers 21155 area
Paint meter readings?? Where is the car available to be seen?
This vehicle was previously sold on PCARMARKET and is being auctioned again as the initial buyer failed to complete the transaction. The seller is including additional documentation and content that was not available on the first auction.
Hello and thank you all for viewing my first auction, AGAIN! Nothing has changed and I will be downloading the cold start video and partial records.
I agree CB911,prior auction comments should be available. what info wasn't provided in the prior auction?
Bid in the amount of $125,000
Greta looking car. I guess the previous listing has been removed? It would be nice to be able to see the comments/info from that auction. And as rrgoo7 asked...are there any service records? Leak down test? Motor hours? Etc?
Any service history records to be presented?
